  1. Finally! The good devs at XDA have found a way to SIM unlock the S4. This is useful for those whom Sprint refuses to send the OTA unlock (i.e. within first 90 days of contract), or are on a Sprint MVNO like Ting.

Unfortunately this method only unlocks for international GSM. Access to domestic GSM networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile) is still restricted to 911 only. Hopefully a fix for that limitation is forthcoming.

Root is not required for this to work, but you'll only have voice and SMS working. To also enable MMS and data, the build.prop file needs to be amended (which does require root access), which will then fix the Samsung bug that doesn't allow you to edit the APN.

Thats awesome news! just have to wait now for use with domestic sims hopefully won't be to long now

  2. I noticed 4g like 100ft from where I work on florin and 65th today while walking around looking for the tower but couldnt spot it. Anyone know where it is? And would sprint increase the coverage area for that tower anytime soon? I hate that while im at work I cant do anything but as soon as I walk around the corner of sears I get lte.

Bradshaw road are covered by other sites and that sector is possibly set for a higher downtilt than the ones facing grant line road. The area towards grant line / sunrise are more rural so the downtilt isare probably not set as high as the one facing bradshaw which are more residential. The colored markers along bradshaw road are other cell stes.

higher downtilt means less cell range?
