  1. Funny you posted this, I was just logging in to ask the same question. About a week ago or so I asked the same question on here and never heard one way or the other as to what's going on. The last couple days have been TERRIBLE with my G2 and my wifes S4. We cant hold a call to save our lives as it keeps disconnecting, losing signal, etc.

This morning my wife and I tried for an hour and 15 minutes calling back forth to one another, getting disconnected, losing signals on our phones. My wife was out with the boys in the snow and we couldn't speak to one another until she was able to get home to use our land line.

At our house in West Jordan around 7000 S 6200 W area we have literally no bars on our phones and the phones are basically useless at this point. On the way back from Utah County this morning for work I stopped by the Sprint Store at 104th/Bangerter and they said that there updating towers for 4g and they dont have a timeline as to when there going to be completed and that's whats causing the poor phone service according to the Sprint employee.

I know this is not a site for voicing issues with Sprint but I'm just curious if anyone knows if our poor service is actually related to the tower upgrades(per the sprint employee) or if it's something else. I dont mind holding on a little longer and waiting this out but I just want an explanation and maybe a timeline as to when this will correct itself.

If they are actually doing cell tower upgrades for 4g that's cool, but if the employee is feeding me a line because he has no idea what's going on and this doesn't clear up soon we'll have to switch carriers.

I have the same issue with my g2 at home. The tower by me wasn't in the first wave of upgrades and so my phone connects to a tower far away to get 4g, in turn my signal is crap and my phone doesn't want to work. In order to fix this I am literally toggling my network between cdma (I use this at home so my phone will connect to the tower closest to me and give me good calls) then when I go to work I change it back to cdma/lte. It's kind of a pain but it's worked for me.

    Rockin my LG G2

  2. Posted ImageAnyone tell me is this the correct setting that my G2 needs to be on for the phone to be picking up lte? The last couple days I haven't really picked up any 4g, when I have the signal is so poor -115 to -119 that its unusable. Whenever it finds 4g it almost instantly goes back to 3g and 3g usually has a pretty good signal. Last week I picked up lte over by kearns high school....strong signal, good speeds etc. Since then the lte has been almost non-existent, and I'm not sure if its my phone, a phone setting OR if there still doing work that would prevent the phone from picking up a usable signal. I read posts on here of people picking up lte and I'm scratching my head why I'm not. I do ALOT of driving/traveling with my job from 2100 south(west side of slc) all the way down to Lindon in Utah County. With all the towers that I pass from wvc down to utah county you would think I'd picking up something other than 3g 90% of the time. I've heard that the g2 has radio issues that prevents it from picking up good signal and a update is possible at some point to fix the issue. Anyone having or heard of these issues....or is it just me? Also for the last couple days I've been having terrible phone issues(phone calls disconnecting, popping, crackling, kinda muffled/hard to understand). Yesterday I went in and changed the setting to "cdma only" NOT lte/cdma and the sound quality is perfect as though the person is standing right next to me and I haven't been disconnected from any calls since....does this make any sense to anyone?

This is exactly what my G2 is at and it seems to pick up lte pretty good when I'm not moving ie. Driving. If I just stay at my work in west valley I get great signal and speeds, but if I drive for lunch or something it cannot hold the connection. I just assumed it's because I'm hitting different towers as I'm moving. There are some threads that talk about global and the other options but I haven't really changed mine since I haven't had issues.

  3. I'd assume she just meant a tower that was not previously available with LTE. That's why we track sector ids.

Yeah, Ive been waiting to pick up the signal from the one on 2700 w but up until today i was still on 3G. Even this morning when I got to work i was on 3G but then while i was in line at starbucks across from valley fair mall i had full LTE signal and my strength was at -97. So im guessing i was hitting the 2700 w tower. First time i've been able to watch netflix since getting rid of my wimax phone :) Anyway, its off now. Guess they were just testing something because im back to 3G.

  4. NV testing is happening this morning in Saratoga highland and lehi. I've got 1X800 hits from all those locations so far! Sensorly boys and girls!! Who will find lte first in north part of utah county!

  5. There is also an update for the g2 appearing today have you got that notification yet. From what I've read its supposed to be related to LTE connection issues?

Wow, glad you said that. I just checked for updates and there is one. I will have to wait until i get home since its pretty big and the 3G just wont cut it LOL. It must be the fix for LTE not staying connected in some markets. I havent had an issue in Utah but i did in Vegas...

  6. Yeah, i figured you'd likely have the signal at work today.  Most of the towers from NSL to draper that are going to go live should be live by this weekend.

I used to work at the old franklin covey campus years ago.  What businesses are out there now?

Franklin Covey is still there, ADP, Coventry Healthcare, there's a charter school too now right by decker lake (not sure what they were thinking on that), Express check recovery, theres even the Dept of defense headquarters building on Decker. Now that trax is right there more and more stuff just keeps coming in.

Here are some pics from last night if it helps anything. My phone is new so I'm not sure if this is the screen that will tell you anything as I'm still getting used to it.

  7. I beleive the E-center site may be skipped in the first round when they ususally turn on around half the towers.  The one by decker lake on 2700 should go live if it hasnt.

Actually today, i have had intermittent connections to LTE at work. Strange thing is everytime LTE lights up on my phone, there is no signal but when it switches off to 3G I have full signal again. My work is at 2600 S and decker. Either way it makes me excited to see they are working on it!!!

  8. I have had no signal ever since i got home from work, turned off my wifi and low and behold my beautiful 4G LTE light came on. Im at 5600 w and 2600 s in west valley. Speed tests suck but at least i know why i have no signal. Im not sure if this helps you guys but my signal strength shows -116 dbm 24 asu. Heres hoping that down by my work, by the e center gets turned on soon too :)

  9. Will triband phones such as the LG G2 pick up the current 3G Sprint network the best and any signal Sprint puts out the best? The reason I ask is because I'm going to try that phone when my contract is done and if its still not picking up the Sprint signal decently, I'm going to try another carrier.

My closest tower is the Herriman tower on Brundisi Way and there are no towers in the Daybreak area. If the LG G2 can pick up signals in this area consistently and stronger than what I'm used to, I'll assume the LTE rollout will make it even better.

    Thoughts?

I have the G2 and cant connect to the nsl tower but this last weekend i drove to las vegas and had no problems connecting to the university parkway in provo and also the cedar city tower, while in vegas i never was able to hold a connection. Pretty disheartening, i hope they fix it soon because this phone is awesome.
