  1. It's great to see they finally flipped the switch down by Waterford and E Colonial. I'm still waiting at UCF for decent LTE.

I went to Universal for the 4th and last night as well, I couldn't help but notice how ATROCIOUS my signal is there. My phone literally dies after 3 hours because it's constantly going from 3G to 1XRTT to roaming. When I used to work at the Hard Rock Hotel last year I don't remember the signal being so horrible there, anyone know why it's gotten so bad?

That's how it was for me at the Magic Kingdom Friday. Absolutely atrocious data signal and I went through three batteries and we didn't even get there until 2pm.

  2. Sprint Care tells me (which I've determined often means nothing at all) that the tower .9 miles west of the intersection of US1 and Farmbrook in Port Orange will go live with 4g "soon" alleviating both the no signal data and voice problems in the area.  Soon is a pretty relative term though.

  3. Has anyone been to Disney in the very recent past.  Just wondering if the LTE makes it all the way through all the parks yet.  Im going in august an hoping that by then they have made much more progress.

Saturday I was at the Studios and MK. In most of the Studios I got 4g, though it dropped in some of the back areas of the park. The MK was 4g in the entrance, then dropped to 3g the further you went down main street. What I did notice this trip, as opposed to 2 weeks ago, was that both the 4g and 3g were fairly solid whichever signal I had. Last trip it bounced all over the place and I went through three fully charged batteries. Saturday I only used one battery, and actually used it for video quite a bit.

  4. I used to attend FWC along US1 there, They had the same problem and since the congregation had a lot of sprint users(including staff) someone gave them a second airave they had. Roaming was also bad(I thought verizon had great density?) So I really doubt verizon would be any better on that signal vampire section of US1..

Edit: No signal or roaming inside the building? You are aware verizon provides most of the roaming here right?

Actually I was not aware Verizon provided it, but when I had Verizon it was not much better. Data was not available with them either though I had a decent voice signal. I assumed for a long time it was the construction of the building (which still may play a major part) since the wi-fi signal is often wonky, but then I noticed I didn't have that good of a signal outside either.  It's really the only place in the Daytona area I've had problems with Sprint. The only other place so far I've been unhappy was St. Augustine.

  5. The areas of Disney that do have 4G are much improved, so hopefully when the whole area is blanketed things will be good.

    Sent from my Galaxy S3

My last visit was opening day of Star Wars Weekends, so I would imagine that capacity was taxed.

  6. Most of Daytona Beach & South Daytona and parts of Ormond and Port Orange have LTE now that are getting anywhere from 4-10mbps down & 1-4mbps up. If I had to guess I would say that the rest of Port Orange & any part of New Smyrna Beach won't see LTE for at least 3-4 months. I think it has more to do with getting fiber to the cell sites then getting the LTE pannels installed.

I am getting a fairly consistent 4g beachside Daytona at my house, but my office is in south Port Orange (along US1) and the data connection is almost non-existent even in 3g. Voice signal is around 1 bar, and often goes to "roaming" outside. Inside the office the phone is a paperweight.  I have to recharge 3 times during the day. 3-4 months is a LONG time!!

I also frequent the Disney Parks. I consistently find the towers overloaded for data. I have a good signal (varies between 4g and 3g) but the data just doesn't flow.

It's a little frustrating, and at times I regret I had to leave Verizon. Then I remember the $100 a month I'm saving and figure I can wait it out.

  7. Today I did some mapping. I mapped parts of Daytona Beach, but mostly Port Orange which does have a tiny amount of LTE closer to South Daytona. Tomorrow I'll map A1A from Dunlawton to Ponce Inlet on my way to the beach. Maybe after the beach I'll go up to Grananda on A1A. My goal is to map Port Orange every week until solid LTE shows up on Dunlawton and Williamson aka "My hood". lol.

South Port Orange along US1 by my office (about 2 blocks north of the Last Resort bar) barely has VOICE coverage, let alone data.

I'm also curious who's the other person mapping in Daytona because It seems as if someone found LTE around mason and went beachside..(another tower went live? Ahh just looked at sponsor maps, OK.. its becoming a rash!)

That is probably me. It sounds like the route I took running errands the other day. I live on the beach side and lost the 4g around Main St. However last night 4g popped up at my house (closer to Daytona Beach Shores) for about 5 minutes. I had atrocious battery usage all day, I had to recharge 4 times! So it seems they are doing some fiddling with the towers.
