  1. Just drove through Alvin, TX with great 4G signal until I reached Bypass 35@FM528, and I dropped to 3G as I headed to Friendswood. At the Friendswood city limit, I lost service altogether and started roaming until I got about half a mile from FM528@FM518 where I re-aquired 4G. Once I turned down FM518 I dropped to 3G at the Friendswood/League City line. I maintained 3G all the way down FM518, then down I-45 south to FM646 all through the Victory Lakes area. I then drove down FM517 back to alvin and stayed 3G until I hit Bypass 35 where I reaquired 4G. I was cycling to Airplane mode and back along the way when it was safe to do so to make sure the 4G aquisition attempt was being made. It seems interesting to me that they chose to complete an area such as Alvin with 25k people vs. an area like League City which resides along an interstate corridor and has a population of 80-100k. Don't get me wrong, I am very pleased that I have 4G, just curious of Sprint's strategy.

I got this in Pearland, TX outside of Houston. I don't believe it. A little further down the road got 23 down and 8 up.

I drove from Alvin, through Manvel and then over to the west side of Pearland off of SH288 and I had nada today. Even where I connected in Alvin yesterday seemed to be offline. I am betting they were just testing yesterday, but hopefully it will all be online for the official launch date tomorrow.

  3. For everyone who is starting to connect to the LTE, are you having a lot of dropbacks to 3G? I will notice it will lock the 4G but in about 2-3 minutes it drops back to 3G. I am using a Galaxy Nexus LTE and just wanted to see if anyone else is seeing similar. I am hopeful that this is just a matter of tower tuning and not an issue with this phone.

  4. I been there. Is it near the interstate?

My parent live in Manvel, west of it.

I know Manvel well. I have not been out that way yet to see if the LTE is on yet.

  5. Unfortunately they wanted $10.00 a month for the 4G LTE privilege. :D Even at Krogers. I just got back from Friendswood,TX and had 4G on and off all the way, however it is not stable yet and kept dropping back to 3G a lot

  6. LTE is alive in Alvin,TX at Krogers grocery store. For anyone out of the area, Alvin is 30 miles south of Houston and about 30 miles north of Galveston. I was seeing a peak of 13 meg down.
