  1. Pretty decent speeds on -111 dbm. You never picked up b41 with your m8?

Not once. I used to get heavy BC26 on the M8, which I haven't seen on my G3 yet in the same area. Not sure if that's due to the device, or if it has to do with tower specific upgrades.

First screen shot is from 436 and Boston ave by the hospital across from the mall. Second shot is from the 436/I-4 E on ramp.

Calls work fine and data occasionally reverts to B25 but mostly remains on B26.

Speed test from morning on B26

  3. When I'm connected to lte my phone shows disconnected on the 1x debug screen, and shows no cellular connection. In the Daytona Beach area. It's this due to the svlte, or could Daytona be one of those areas where the legacy equipment is different from the nv vendors? I can connect to lte for a few minutes but then the phone just pops back to 3g.

  4. Really liking the keys on the back, only downside is when it's in a car dock it's hard to get to the volume buttons.

I agree with the car dock issue. Though I do appreciate that they have a setting to allow the home screen in portrait and landscape mode.

  5. Phone has been great so far besides the lte issue. Camera works great. Good battery life. Dislike the speaker placement, but I was also coming from an HTC One. The buttons on the back were easy to get used to, but with the knock on feature you really don't need to use them often.

  6. Update:

Reverted to stock settings with BC25 the only enabled ban on 10/26. I was not connecting to lte, even with airplane mode toggle. Did receive 2 cannot connect to data network errors as well.

Today it connected, on its own, in an area that my HTC One was never able to hang on. Looking forward to an update to see more of this.

  7. Can someone play some music or other media on their g2. I noticed only the right side speaker is working. I've tried this playing gta3, play music, ringtones.

  8. Here are some screen shots from my trip home. Toggled airplane mode and had a signal for about a minute. Lost my signal at the start of the upload phase on the speed test app.

My current settings are all band classes enabled, and all set to priority 1.

  9. Noob question, but can someone PM me on how to upload pictures on here. Have a couple screen shost of the LTE engineering screen while connected to 4G, and also a screen shot of  signal check lite while on 4G. Thanks

  10. Enabled Band Class 26 and 41. I set all priority to 1, but when you select view instead of edit it shows the priority as 1 for BC25, 2 for BC26, and 3 for BC41. I'm guessing this is the order the phone searches for lte and this cannot be changed?

Anyways, device is still not connecting to LTE. Was sitting about 300 feet from a known LTE tower and was unable to pick up 4G at all. Toggled data, airplane mode, restarted phone. The phone is also still being very stubborn sending SMS/MMS on my airave at work.

In regards to the launch date, my LG rep stated that the phone has been ready, but it was Sprint's decision to launch a few new tri-band handsets starting on the 8th. I don't know what these other handsets are, but that was his explanation for the delay.

I'm feeling like I own a corvette with a cobalt engine under the hood. Gotta love our first world problems here at S4GRU

  11. One other issue I had today was with text messaging. The device repeatedly had problems sending and receiving while I was at work. The device was connected to an airave, but no other devices I've used or anyone else's phones had that issue.

  12. So I just received my G2 today and I'm sad to report that it's lte reception is absolutely horrible. I currently reside in the Daytona Beach area. I am coming from an HTC One and was able to get perfectly useable signal in my house and around town with zero issues. This handset will not connect to 4g anywhere without toggling data, and even then struggles to maintain signal for more than a minute. I am hoping that they release an update to address the radio issues before launch. Besides the pathetic lte coverage, the phone is great.

In addition,I have not adjusted any of the band class settings. I also expected the same issue where I toggled data in a known lte area and received the "unable to establish a wireless data connection"error before the device switched back to 3g.

  13. Was driving down ISB yesterday to beach street, the back over from nova to beville and Williamson. Had to do a lot of the airplane mode trick to get 4g on isb. On Beville and nova I was able to hold the signal from that intersection until the filitowski eye center on Beville. Had a 22mbps down and 10 up connection according to speed test app.

Also had about 15 seconds of 4g on 17-92 in Deland. Was unable to recapture. I'm going to start running sensorly every time I head down that way.
