Corpus Christi, TX LTE. More locations popping up around town
thats better than some twc home wifi
-
it's popping up around town. they have it where I work. However, still not at my home. in corpus christi. saratoga and weber. so it's all around me..just not in my area, which I hate. It's like they are puposely avoiding my area. road down the street both ways and behind me. just not where I am ugh.
I got a 5 up 1.44 down. where I checked. is it possible the speeds will get quicker the longer it's on? or the more they update?
-
Lol..well rober
Coverage on Sensorly is provided by people who run the Sensorly app on their phone. Crowd sourced. People tend to drive on roads and highways.

well robert...color me stupid. LOL. I am kinda laughing at myself, because that makes perfect sense and I didn't even think about it. duh moment.

when looking at sensorly the 4g singnal goes right along the roads. I understand the tower might be there, but is the transmission so bad that it barely passes the accross a street? what good is this kind of signal. most people don't live ON the highway. I would expect a bigger radius
-
im weber/saratoga...lte is above me and below. not with me yet. ya know it's wierd. the lte is all along the road. it doesnt seem to stretch out far
-
probably
maybe not. I am not getting Lte yet.The tower located near 286 & 2444 (S. Staples) is LTE live so that's probably where you're getting your signal. I mapped it on Sensorly already.
-
I hope so, I think that is one of the towers close to (about a mile) I am not sure how to tell what towers are closest. but I think that one is down the road (im weber and saratoga)I usually briefly pickup an LTE signal driving along FM 2444 at the very south end of Corpus. I have also seen a bucket truck parked from time to time at the tower located at Everhart & Saratoga.

It's possible, but not likely. The real increase in coverage will come with the addition of 800 CDMA, which is 1x only. When 800 LTE comes along, you may get that in your apartment But as you said, you have WiFi so it doesn't really matter all that much where you live. It's where you spend the rest of the day that it matters.
work. lol

The maps at network.sprint only show towers that have received updates, either regular maintenance or NV, in the last 6 months.
There are still legacy updates going on even though NV is rolling through. This is to help keep the legacy sites operating until they can fully move the network over to NV. It is very hard to distinguish these regular updates from NV upgrades on that map. Some of them are NV, but a lot of them at this point are not.
Every site will be upgraded, it just takes time. There's lots of planning, paper work, permits, equipment tracking, scheduling crews, fighting the weather, fighting for permits when the NIMBY's strike .... that makes it very hard to move forward with a project on this large of a scale.
I currently am getting a 1x singnal in my apt (inside) do you think the nv will help with the penetration to provide at least a 3g inside. I think the penetration of the singnal is suppose to be better if I am correct. You know, I just thought, not really sure why I care about 4 in my area..I am mostly on wifi inside...lol. I guess it would be good at the local pool hall

the sensorly map looks like it is moving straight up saratago..currently at staples. from what I can seeKinda quiet..any new updates?
-
so I had a question that maybe you all can help with. Of course I am following the 4g updates in my area. It looks like it's edging towards my area. (weber/saratoga) . So I look at the coverage map. are the towers showing all the sprint towers in my area, or just the ones that have had recent update? if It's just the ones with the updates, then why arent they updating the others, and if it's only those in my area, then hopefully 4g should come on soon, cuz as you see..there aren't many towers.

well, it doesn't look like we are in that zone. so hopefully that means more bands we can get (if that's the proper term for it) someone said that they were setting up in corpus on everheart and spid.. so hopefully they are headed my way,,ugh so close, but around me. I feel someone at sprint knows me and they are messing with me. lol. but hey, at least they are moving...wooo

what is IBEZ?Thank you for the picture, but Corpus Christi is not actually in the IBEZ, so I would expect to see the usual 3-4 RRUs on those sites.
Here is the IBEZ:
-
how can you tell if they are working on the tower?
-
big all I also look on sensorly, it's nice to see the updates. you should check it out. I donwloaded the app too so I can help other users.

is there any work being done in the Kingsville area?
Thanks
They should be beginning soon, if they haven't already started.

I am in corpus.. the lte looked headed towards my streets, but then headed in another direction. it looks to be headed from the south up towards me. So reading the site, they might be working on a lot of diffect places all (in the south market.) they just arent telling us.. then when it's on it's on. (im near weber/ saratoga). so who knows. maybe they are working on laredo and cc as we speak. who knows..maybe tomorrow we'll wake up and BAM!

That awkward moment when you see purple in your city only to zoom in and realize it's your airport...fml x|
lol@juant I heard it takes 3 weeks to complete a tower..so hopefully in a month we'll be covered.

Here are some speeds from the area. It appears the LTE signal may be coming from C....C367 although it doesn't show this site as in progress. The map does show S....C314 (Flour Bluff) in progress which is over 4 miles from C....C367
Again, the attachment will show LTE in the Saratoga Blvd/Rodd Field area. The Weber/Saratoga area is 3g speed
noitice any change with the penetration of the singnal?
-
I downloaded sensorly and used it to go to a 4g spot. I think I was just in the fringe of it though as it went from 4g to 3g and back. I did a quick, since I was just passing through. a page pulled up instantly and loaded the whole page at one. now I just gotta wait for 4g to get to my area..can't wait. long needed.
-
Definitely noticeable on LTE. Unfortunately when I left the LTE area, I didn't notice the speeds on 3g since I was driving but I'm gonna do some speed tests tomorrow.
Sweet. Hope we get at&t like speeds. but you are right.ANYTHING is better
-
Whether it's 24mb or 8mb download speeds, they're a welcome sight after many months of frustrating 3g speeds. I too contemplated to jump ship but today's news and this site has me sticking around for good.
yes speeds are horrible here Weber/saratoga ...let me just ask this...is it noticeable..are you like...wow..finally? and is there any icrease to your 3g?
