Is there any significance to the fact that SignalCheck is showing I've been on EV-DO instead of eHPRD for the past week? It occurs on 3 towers in Chesterfield that I am frequently connected to and that don't yet have NV upgrades.

 

Speed seems a bit on the low side and my battery is draining pretty fast these days, but those could be unrelated.

Does anyone know why the LTE site at the Family Arena seems to be IP banned from S4GRU? Unless its not and there was just some kind of maintenance going on when I got this message:

 

Edit: tapatalk would not let me log in and every page on s4gru.com redirected there.

This is probably a stupid question, but am I supposed to be able to get 800 on a non tri-band GS4? Picked this up briefly near Olive and Appalachian Trl in Chesterfield.

I stopped checking this forum around 2 months ago, mostly because I was too lazy to install Tapatalk on my new OS. Looks like nothing much has changed since January...Updates are still rolling in and Killswitch is still complaining.

Is there anybody in the area of I-64 and Rte 141 with a tri-band phone that can see if they can connect that new tower or even the area of I-170 and Woodson area?

I connect to I-64 and 141 occasionally from my home...But not right now. I'll let you know if I connect to it.

 

Has something changed there since acceptance?

Man I love the camera on this thing. Yea I can see what she means but the quality of the picture is amazing.

I almost went with the G2 because the camera is the one thing that gives it an edge over the S4. But then I realized that stupid button on the back meant I wouldn't be able to have a case that includes storage for credit cards...and unfortunately those get used a lot more often than my camera.

In lilg's signature (on the full site), theres links to maps with the locations of towers that we need Hex and 3-digit confirmation. It looks like stlman is able to get both with signalcheck on his G2.

Call back and select the option to cancel....tell them you want the s4 that best buy or radio shack has on sale and you want to check your eft or see if you can upgrade. Either they can offer early upgrade by buying out of eft or tell them you can pay eft and switch to AT&T or Verizon since the phone cost would be the same. Be nice and they have always done it for me in the past. Sometimes they say it can take 24 hours but if you tell them you really need to do it tonight because of the sale or stock they will usually get it pushed through.

Thank you that worked perfectly! I even got my upgrade fee lowered to $99 since that's what it would have costed to cancel my service completely.

 

All I need to do I'd go out to best buy and get a new free phone!

I went into the store first but they said I'd have to wait an hour to talk to someone. Then I went to Best Buy but it was just as busy. Then I went to Radio Shack since they had the S4 on sale but they were clueless and said I'd have to pay $1000

You have three options at the store.

 

Buy using upgrade now and "buying into" your upgrade. At 13 months in I think it would be $200 Plus the price of the phone at upgrade pricing. With this option you must trade in your old phone for credit.

 

Switch to the One Up plan.You have to switch to My Way plans. You must give them your current phone for no compensation.

 

Buy outright.

 

 

 

Bonus 4th option:

 

Buy Nexus 5 from Google Play store. This is what I did.

 

Bonus 5th option.

 

Buy outright on eBay.

Option 1 sounded mighty tempting since Sprint would give me $220 for my iPhone and it would only cost $200 to break my contract, but when I called Sprint today they said I could only do it at a Sprint Corporate Store...kinda defeats the purpose sine they didn't have the S4 on sale.

Does anyone have a picture handy of what a flagpole site looks like? There is a site near me at Baxter & Carkson in Cesterfield that has really been bugging me because I can't see any cell equipment at all...NV or legacy...and I'm starting to wonder if its hidden inside an odd smokestack-looking thing on the roof.

I don't suppose Sprint has some sort of borrow-a-phone policy that would allow a customer to try a phone for a week or so? I'm really eager to see how much improvement I'd get at home with a tri-band phone...but I really don't want to lock myself into a contract to do it.

Can anyone tell from this pic if there is a sprint NV panel up?

 

You can't get anything at or near your home?

That's the thing...I get a 3G signal around -115db most of the time (have since I switched to Sprint last year) and it will sometimes pick up 4G LTE (on its own or by toggling airplane mode) but the vast majority of the time I still get 3G.

 

It probably has to do something with the fact that my street is in a valley 20-30 ft lower than the rest of the area.

 

The only thing I can think of is that I've been picking up the legacy site at S. Woods Mill & 40.
