  1. I know this is a little off topic but I thought with the knowledge of Sprint’s operation around here I can find out a definitely answer (I hope). I have two lines (A + B and I upgraded 1 line (A) to the S3 back in November, my second line ( B is off contract but that’s the line I use with the S3 (A. has no usage/phone broke). The phone number/line I upgraded the S3 with is still under contract (A). I want to switch the phone numbers around and put B under the contract and A on the non contract. Does anyone know if that’s possible and if so what’s it called because customer service is saying they can’t do it? My other option is to sell my S3 to buy out the contract and go back to my 3d so is there any options anyone knows about? BTW… the (A) line is on seasonal hold where I’m only paying 9$ a month for now.

  2. Got some 4g LTE love today driving from Braintree toward Brockton. 128 to rt 24

around Harrison Blvd. Sporadic though with only 6gb download speeds.

Got to Brockton but the signal disappeared.

Kinda bummed about that. Hopefully they'll get that area hooked up soon.

Try down town on legion parkway, the tower behind Harbor One is upgraded and the Wal-Mart on the Abington Brockton border is upgraded, I was there a week ago and saw the upgrade. You can also try crescent St. by Christos, Comcast, Massasoit college. I don’t have a LTE phone as yet, I’m holding out until they upgrade the South Side of town. I need that Note 2!! if you go over there let me know what speeds you are getting.

  3. Fiber is not going to be overwhelmed... Sprint has contracted scalable backhaul that can be boosted up faster at their request.

Right now, Sprint has half the customers (including all the prepaid and wholesale) of Verizon, and are deploying LTE on half the amount of spectrum as Verizon. Not even including the fact that Sprint will have smaller cells than Verizon and support more customers in a given area, they will not start feeling the crunch until much later than Verizon.

    Just considering current devices:

Verizon - 10x10 LTE on upper 700MHz devices. No other LTE bands supported, no additional upper 700MHz spectrum to deploy additional LTE.

Sprint - 5x5 LTE on 1900MHz devices. No other LTE bands supported, but most of the top markets have spectrum available for a second 5x5 1900MHz LTE carrier.

So, Sprint has the option to deploy as much spectrum as Verizon for LTE, and has half as many customers. Nobody is screaming that Verizon is in trouble for LTE, so why is Sprint in trouble from letting a few hundred thousand freedompop customers use their LTE?

Even looking toward the future, if Verizon obtains the AWS spectrum from the cablecos, they will deploy another 10x10 LTE carrier, but Sprint is deploying a 5x5 LTE carrier on SMR with hotspots in high use areas on Clearwire's 2500/2600MHz LTE.

It will be a long time before Sprint sees an overload like with EV-DO. Everyone is gunshy about it, which is understandable, but there are multiple places in the forums here where these concerns are debated and dismissed.

Now thats an answer to a question.... thanks!

  4. I understand the revenue aspects but 3 different companies riding on the same LTE network and not to forget people that may switch for the Iphone on an unlimited network. I don’t know this, but will fiber be able to handle all that traffic? Oh, Dont forget Boost (4) and Virgin (5) when the switch to LTE in a year or so.

  5. So I was passing BS43XC861 ( Fair Grounds) in Brockton an saw the below. The guy said he was there for metro and Sprint. This I pass every day but I'm really curious about the BS23XC445 site for upgrades (any info anyone???), also does anyone see any new panels (1900/800) on this tower ?

  6. I just use wimax on my 3d in Boston I couldn’t even think about using only 3g there. Two evo's (OG& 3D) later and countless reassurances on 4g in my area I’m still stuck on 3g when I’m home (south of Boston). and that’s why I will not upgrade until I hear that a majority of mass. Has LTE. I remember the days when I use to be able to watch YouTube on my Tp's (1&2) with hardly any buffering... the good ole dayz...
