  1. A new tower came online today on the NW side. now the Ina and Thornydale intersection is covered.  I have mapped it out on Sensorly and will post the technical details in sponsor section.  Sensorly map should updated by tomorrow. Getting closer to more NW coverage.

  2. 06E090 is not listed in my spreadsheet, and looking at my map it's probably a new site. Sensorly isn't giving any clues as to which one though.

Confirmed that the newly accepted tower has the Hexadecimal ID 06E090  01/02/03  N/E/SW.  I mapped Sensorly La-Canada, to River, River to Thornydale / Orange Grove -  Orange Grove west from La Cholla.  Signal very week out that far.

  3. Where is that small track on La Cholla coming from? I was driving on River and i got it for 5 or so seconds and couldn't reconnect. Also all that LTE on I-10 to Orange Grove does not work, or at least i couldn't connect to it..

I mapped that track on La Cholla but the signal strength is so weak that it is hard to tell where it is coming from. I got the hexidecimal ID code for it but not sure which tower it would be associated with at this time. Signal comes and goes. I would say the triangle from river, ruthrauff and I 10 has a tower in the middle of it however I would feel the signal strength would be stronger unless they are operating on a dummy load.  it could also be another tower.

I will continue looking into it and when it lights up again I will try to map more so than sensorly might point us in the right direction

  5. I just got 4G at the intersection of River Road and La Cholla and then I mapped it on Sensorly until Wetmore road. I did not get a speed test but did get the Hex ID 06E090 -03. Thirty minutes later I went back to the same area and 4G was dead. Will return shortly to see if they turned back on or not.

  6. The 01/02/03 at the end of the hex id is just the sector. digits 4-6 are the critical ones. That signal is pretty weak - where were you when you got that signalcheck screen shot? And thanks for contributing :)

The location was actually SW of that location.   I was in the AM PM mini mart at Speedway and the freeway, just on the west side of I-10

  7. Grant/Oracle is live. Mapped. It's the 8/177/346 I found before. Still no clue on 95

I mapped this site a little more after you did. Drove south on 15th to Speedway and lost it W of I-10 about Silverbell. My Sensorly track is not showing but yours is. Here is the Hex ID code. Got 401 to the north and 402 to the southwest.

  8. Sad truth. Most workplaces don't have a cool IT manager who sets up a separate virtual guest wifi network for employees to use for their personal devices... Now if only my employees would realize I'm still not going to let them look at porn at work...

yeah but 15 gigs in 2 weeks at work? That's like streaming video the whole time. Maybe you don't have a cool IT manager but you must have a very cool boss. I stream talk shows and music but rarely go over 5 gigs.  Sorry everyone for being off-topic.

I can say that I rarely see the need to switch to WiFi at home, and haven't used WiFi at the office since the first signs of 4G started popping up. I am very happy with the 4G thus far and it defiantly shows in my usage, over 15GB last month and already at about 15GB this month with 13 days left in the cycle.

I don't want to come across as a jerk here, but don't you have a good ground based option for speedy broadband? Or is your home WiFi borked? If that's the case, get a better router.

Yep, the first quote above is representative of the problem that will make "unlimited" data go away or become disappointingly slow again.  But some people are too oblivious to realize that.

Absolutely.   4G could be faster but in most cases WiFi is plenty fast enough.   Use it when you can to conserve the bandwidth for others.   Why put pressure on "unlimited" data plans needlessly.  (IMHO)

  10. Weird, i parked next to the tower and got noting sooo guess i will try again some time.

I actually have screenshots of the LTE screen on the north west east and south sides of the tower. All three cell identifiers are shown. Here is a shot where I Sat just a hundred feet south of the tower.  I mapped Sensorly to the east all the way to Skyline. I also mapped to the north, south, and to the west

  12. I have confirmed that there is an active LTE tower at Orange Grove and Oracle.  You were right!

I mapped all three sectors with screen shots of the relevant screens.  I have several more samples but this is a good start.  I mapped the heck out of the area with Sensorly too so that should show up soon.  This tower has been on for over a week.

  14. I bet if you finish mapping Orange Grove from Skyline to La Cholla you'll confirm it's a new site up.

No such luck to the west.  Faded before La Canada each time.  Will map more later today to paint the picture.  Still suspect line of site to Glenn tower due to the hill.   There is a cell site however at that intersection (Oracle and Ina).  Engineering  screen info should tell the story.

  15. Yesterday and this evening, I mapped the location just to the east and west of the Ina- and Oracle intersection. Today while sitting at The Frost, I captured the screenshots to share as well. So there is also a 4G track on Sensorly and also speed test.  I still suspect that the cell tower identification will be consistent with the tower at first and Glenn.  I believe that the only reason to go so far is because it is up the hill.

  16. I've mapped with sensorly the track up 1st Avenue almost to Ina road. The 4G was constant all the way up. I believe the only reason there is 4G there is because it is going up hill and has line of sight to the Glen tower

by the way, I mapped this track in the middle of the day this weekend.  It is just up the hill overlooks the valley.

  17. They seem to be re-tuning the sites they've lit up to throw signal halfway across town. Dunno what the end game is on this, but when I mapped 1st/glenn it ran out at Roger. Now sensorly shows a track down 1st all the way to freakin Ina, and it doesn't look like a new tower. Yeesh.

  18. In response to this ^^^ their isn't projections only a general this will get 4g in x amount of time. Now my money is the one near el con mall and the one near speedway and craycroft, but truth be told that's based off of my own sightings

Thanks.  That seems like a good position to maximize coverage.  I wonder if they might target a NW side lite off next too.  That would be nice.

  19. Park and 18th

    24th and I-10

    Cardinal south of Valencia

    Harrison just south of Broadway

The Glenn and 1st site that we know is broadcasting (albeit at slow speeds comparatively) is still showing as scheduled within the next 3 months.

If you were able to view projections on the Glenn and 1st tower, which I understand was accepted now, can you see the queue and make a stab at what might go next?

  20. Is anyone getting 4G today? I've done around and haven't picked up anything, and my phone is on LTE/CDMA I made sure. :P

I had 4G and mapped it from Campbell and Prince to 1st almost up to Ina Road.  Should show on Sensorly later.
