New to this forum. My Verizon contract runs out in a few weeks and am seriously considering switching to Sprint to get an HTC One.Is this phone worth switching? Sounds like yes but any input would be great.

I switched from Verizon to Sprint for this phone(and unlimited data) and don't regret it.

So I'm having my classic dilemma when ever I have a new phone. I want to root this phone so badly. Has anyone rooted theirs? I've read online that it's been really simple to root. If you did what's your current ROM?

Unlocked with s-off from revone and running bad seeds tranquil ROM. There is a lot of blue and inversion included in the ROM so might not be for you if your looking for something more stock.

Quick question, does anyone else have the MEID DEC sticker on the back of their phones on top of the Beats Logo?

 

I don't really mind it, I asked a rep if I could remove it and I was told that I shouldn't. What do you guys think?

Is there any "smart settings" feature I can use on this phone? For example, to automatically turn off Wifi when I get to the office and turn it on when I leave?

I believe tasker can do that for you, but I haven't ever played around with it.

So I have noticed the last few days that my captive buttons don't light up easily, as in I can be in a dark room to where I can't see them because they are not lighting up. My wife's phone doesn't seem to have this problem, and hers light up brighter than mine when I can get them to go on also. Anyone else have this problem?

The only way to do that is to run another launcher.

I did that already but for whatever reason it wasn't sticking, anyway I just tried it again and its fine now. What about gallery pics though, how do you stop facebook from automatically showing pics in your gallery?

I haven't figured that one out yet, but if you figure it out I would like to know also.

What I am trying to figure out is if there is away to use the facebook app with out it populating your blinkfeed and gallery with random facebook crap. I don't use facebook often but usually thats the best way for me to contact certain family members. I know I can disable it from blinkfeed but once I sign back on through the app, its there again, same with the gallery.

In blink feed, menu, topics and services, swipe over to the left side and turn off Facebook.

I did figure out that the Back & Home buttons get lit because of the light sensor on the top front of the phone.

 

I'd love to know anyone's thoughts on the "Sprint Default Configuration."

I think the default configuration just gives you a Sprint id number. At least that's what I have read, I haven't brought myself to do it yet either.

I was set on stopping by a Sprint store to check out the One this weekend, but it turns out that I won't have to. My brother bought one instead! I concur with everyone else who has put their hands on this phone. It is gorgeous!

 

What makes it even better is that my brother and his fiancé switched from Verizon to Sprint. I wonder how many other subs will switch over from Big Red since they aren't carrying the One. Also, I'd like to think my past few months of babbling on about Sprint's NV upgrades and my lobbying for them to switch to Sprint had something to do with it as well.

 

Now, to borrow the One when he isn't looking...

It got me to make the jump from big red. First day on the now network and everything running great on the one.

Hey all, found this place wile trying to scout out sprints network here in Albany/Salem Oregon. Gonna be making the switch from Big Red next week when the HTC One comes out and wanted to konw what to expect from Sprints network and this site has helped quit a bit. I lurked for a bit and finally have decided to drop in and say hi.
