  1. Yes, 25. Not like I can choose, correct?

The Mini w/spark and the S4 are both listed on band 25 when I'm in *#0011#.

Would it be normal for both phones to be on the same band and have one be about 1/3 slower? Or is the mini using more than one band and just showing being on 25. And is the point moot because you can't pick and choose?

Here's some amazing speeds from my bedroom today (in Bryn Mawr) . Sadly, they were with a Tmo Note 2. When I took out my S4 on Sprint it got worse:

Then I took out my S4 Mini, sadly still sitting on a dismal 4.2.2, and had a little redemption thanks to spark.

This is day 1 of carrying my S4 and the demo Note 2. The Mini was bought strictly as a workout and media device, and unfortunately stinks at that because it doesn't have 4.3 and can't connect to BT LE devices yet. I imagine they're jumping to Kitkat, but there isn't an eta. Think US Minis are the only ones not on 4.3.

Will be interesting to see how this shakes out. I guess I'll carry the Mini too and see how it compares. I'm more concerned with signal than speed though.

  3. Sprint doesn't touch actual downloads, so if you have a site which lets you DL the vid or watch it, sometimes the difference is pretty dramatic.

umm, yes they do. Try downloading a picture over wifi and LTE. The LTE will be compressed, about half the size or less of the original picture. Not very good if you have text intensive pics or actually want the hi res/quality image, need to zoom in to see detail and so forth.

  4. I gave tmobile breathing down my neck for our business account. Told them I'd take a look and they're giving us a note 3 and iPhone 5 to demo. Will see how they compare. $300 less per month. First two months free. All new devices free. Buyback of sprint devices, but I'll see if I can get more selling them if it happens.

Have had more complaining about Sprint's network from our other reps as of late.

  5. So my business account actually pays for data, 40gb per month, 10-12gb of it is usually me, and I don't do speed tests or tether. Actually have a hot spot, not that it matters because I paid for 40gb, and I should be able to use it any which way I want whether I do 40gb of torrent downloads, stream music and movies or constantly up and download files from the cloud. I rarely do the first one,but I would imagine I'm not getting throttled because I actually pay for a set amount of data. I wonder if these type of accounts will fall under the same umbrella as unlimited folk.

And I have the tmobile rep knocking on my door every month. I demoed a phone for a month, and there wasn't one place in the Philly area where I could say sprint outshined tmobile. People can bash all they want, but even with the NV update, Sprint isn't winning any battles.

Personally, I'd like to see the merger, see sprint swap out their CDMA boards for gsm ones and just call it a day. I would think the combined gsm network would make many happy.

  6. How did u get it? I was told by Sprint that it wouldn't be available until some time in April.

It's also already $50 on contract, at least on the business side.

Sorry. Didn't realize this was probably mentioned. More pages than I thought.

  7. I'm at Manoa and Haverford with 4g.upload still stinks, but 4-6mb down consistently is nice without the wimax type drain.

And the dead zone pockets around haverford are there for every carrier. From Ardmore Ave to College Ave is dismal and only slightly better as you get to Bryn Mawr Ave. In Bryn Mawr Hospital, 20ft from windows, my battery drains like nobody's business. I can drain the an S3 by noon easy, my Note 2 by 1pm. Hoping the signal boost 3g gets is enough to keep a more consistent signal.

  8. There are pockets of LTE just south of Ardmore in Havertown. It looks like there is a big hole surrounding the Bryn Mawr / Heverford / Ardmore area. Does anyone know if Lower Merion Township has hindered any Network Vision work? I hope Sprint can get major upgrades going there really soon; the US Open is at Merion in 6 weeks. There will tens of thousands of visitors there every day so The network is going to be put under a lot of strain...

The open should hopefully push the upgrade. All that publicity... But.... That area is notorious for a lack of signal. You'd think haverford college would put a tower up to get paid a bit. Ton of land to utilize and wouldn't be an eyesore.

Did have 4g this morning in conshy on 76. A little busy driving to play though.

  9. oh ok hows the signal over and voice covergae and data speeds and i live in the central jersery market and its very slow and frustrating here i get litterally no signal

Signal is ok. I get crap in the hospitals and haverford ave from Ardmore plaza to bryn mawr stinks as well. But it is getting better. In my gym lot now, and things are a little better than normal. I often struggle for a signal here.

  10. yea i dont care if it would be 1mb down i would be happy but now i cant even open facebook lol

The endless spinning loading icons, the stalled email syncs and connection errors constantly plague me in the western burbs. Can't even force roam on the Note2. It was a blessing on the S3 in many of the areas I go. Hoping the improved 3g solves the issues. Don't really care about lte all that much.
