it seems like there hasn't been any new spots on the map (except for beaver) in probably 2 months, what gives?
What he said.

It looks like southside is getting pushed back. Now scheduled for the next 6 myths. Sprint guy at store has nifty program that shows updates scheduled for next 90 days. Thing is, I stopped by, looked at it again and it looks like it's been pushed back. :/ dammit Pittsburgh Market with your hills and valleys...
-
Just wanted to ask for clarification on this term. What all it involves, time table, and if there is a schedule for this. Is it currently going on? What should I be looking for or notice?
-
New downtown tower now puts my work desk 5 feet outside 4g area
North Versailles has lte and downtown, southside, and North Shore do not...that hurts my head to think about.
North Shore and South side are scheduled for next 90 days supposedly though. I saw that like 30 days ago. Hopefully it's not falling behind more.

Would you happen to know how many sites are in the winston area total?
We are at 19 sites with 4G LTE accepted in the Winston Salem market, and no signs of stopping.

For LTE and CDMA? It's happening now.
I'm Sry, I should have specified. I understand it is currently being worked on but is there a general timeframe for the completion of the 800mhz lte Or is it just part of NV and will "mostly" done by the end of 2013?
-
Is that the timetable for the 3 bands to be in the majority of markets? End of 2014? Or just using it as an example?Too bad Sprint isn't planning LTE-A carrier aggregation across it's 800-, 1900- and 2500 MHz bands
News from 7/15: Sprint/Clearwire is "on track to have 5,000 TD-LTE sites on air by the end of December."[/size]
http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-adds-clearwires-25-ghz-band-lte-coverage-area/2013-07-15
If I recall correctly, Sprint's plan is to put 2.5 Ghz on each of it's 38,000 or so towers. If so, the "5000 by 12/31/13" figure would seem to indicate a slow pace. 38k total towers - 5k done = 33k remaining. 33k towers / 12 months = 2750k/month needed to meet it's total network build-out goal by the end of 2014.

is there any type of timetable for the 800mhz refarming? Like by the end of 2013? Is that wishful thinking?
-
I'd get this phone if it's Sprint LTE tri-band, for sure.

Picked up 4g in Washington, got 3.08 down, 4.7 up. Looks like they're turning on towers down there
Wow. Sweeeet
-
yes it for voice calls for sure, i dont think they do (800 for data)? i just got lil bit excited lol mybad
I'm shocked as well. Never would have thought that 9 days removed from the iden shutdown that we would see something like that
-
are u F-ing serious!?!?!?!? thats crazy, i didnt think the Burgh would see 800mhz till next year...this is very exciting news!!! sprints really kicking butt in our area thats for sure! please post some screen shots and maybe do a speed test and post too?
R u sure that's for data? I think 800mhz is just for calls right now. I don't even think sprint has a phone that would get 800mhz data. Right?
-
Yes.
Even though I have not gotten 4g in my area yet, I still have excellent 3G in my area. I can peak at speeds of over 2.5 Mbps at the right time of the day and still maintains 1+ mbps at any time of the day. This gets me pumped for the speeds I might see with the upgraded network because of how close I am to the 3G tower. I say this because generally Sprint will keep their 3G and 4g towers in the same spot.
Wow, #mindblown. What part of Pittsburgh are u getting that speed? Too bad it's not in southside because that is the only place I go that I can't connect to wifi. Can not wait to experience decent 3g speeds
-
Out of curiosity, is there a page to view network Vision enhancements for the burgh? Has anyone noticed better 3g speeds between 1 and 2.5mbps?
-
Noticed lte was flipping on and off at the p bar in pleasant hills tonight. Couldn't get a speed test or Sensorly map but I would assume some tower work has been done in that area which is new.
-
Found a couple blocks with lte in the center of West Mifflin. Mapped it on Sensorly. Speeds are low 3mbps though.
-
-
tell me you maped that
Yes. I checked earlier, and it's showing up on Sensorly now.
-
7.5mbps down, 3.36mbps up 63ms ping near the Walmart in west mifflin

too bad is on ios so he cant but on sensorly you can see some new spots lighting up i can try to drive in some of the areas and map them looks like some lte is on in the city i see a spot around the area of the steel tower might be turning on some of the ground mount units
I'm geeked

I can confirm that there is now LTE in Ross township, Monroeville, Greensburg, and a small fraction of downtown Pittsburgh. This is the most new LTE addition to the Pittsburgh market since LTE was first introduced to the city in April. Good news for sure.
Do you use sensorly? Show us the L(igh)TE!
-
on my way to work all the way down 51 in the southhills signal check was showing a lte signal very week 128 dbm hopefully some final testing it would not hold a connection
O.O yesssss
-
Did you know that neither Verizon, nor AT&T, nor T-Mobile have a market with 100% conversion to LTE yet? Oh, come on!!!
You aren't understanding the metrics here.

Thanks for the info. Did not know.

So let me get this straight... Sprint still hasn't finished even one city completely 100% since starting last summer?? So I'm assuming that "largely completed by the end of 2013" means that it will be maybe 50% complete in most markets? #OHCOMEON
