I did *#*#info#*#* then phone information and changed the setting to GSM auto (PRL). I'm rooted and this worked for me. The catch: don't reboot without changing the option back to GSM/CMDA auto prl.

your blanketed with 4 coverage if you are in WACO. you my friend are in the best 4G area for coverage right now for Sprint LTE.
Something happened about an hour ago. The new 4G tower is back to 3G for now. Unfortunately, that's the one I need to be 4G. Back to the waiting game.

I'm currently getting 4G from a tower that was 3G yesterday. I am now in the middle of a triangle, where all 3 towers have 4G.

I'm about 0.6 miles away from the tower I connect to.

I'm not sure what you're asking... excuse my ignorance.

Today my LTE went out in Waco, TX. I had the 4G icon, my network was LTE14, but I had no connection.
I got on chat and the rep said they were having issues and it should be resolves shortly.
3 hours later I am getting LTE in areas of my home that I did not previously have. Worth the wait. I'm getting about 4000down 4000up in the middle of my home.

It cannot be related to Network Vision, IMO. It's just that usage keeps growing and growing on the legacy 3G network, so performance will keep reducing and reducing until the new network is activated in your area.

I don't know if it's NV or what. This is also just a correlation, but things seemed to go down hill for me around the time of the iPhone launch.
Very true. Well I am in Waco for the time being (at least for a few years for work) so I no longer have to worry about waiting in SA. On another note, I saw a guy working on a tower (that was 4G ready) yesterday and since then my speeds have gone from 25000kbps to 13000kbps. Now, I'm not complaining but just thought I'd share my thoughts for those who care to listen.

3G speeds have been tragic for me for the last 6 months or so in SA. Usually around 75kbps up and 200kbps down. I've even seen the dreaded 1xRT a few times in the last few weeks.
I'm wondering if there are any NV sites that have confirmed 3G updates arounds, since everywhere I have run a speed test so far has been about the same.
So is it just me or was 3G faster in SA before? Seemed like it went the opposite direction ever since NV started.

For the lucky few that are in the first round of NV rollouts, I have a question. Did the 3g service get worst as they started?
Strange as I was thinking about that. When I was in San Antonio I noticed that my speeds did feel slower than a few months ago. I don't know if this was because they became slower or if it was psychological as I was taking more and more speedtests.

Do you know if it was in San Antonio?
Nothing in SA :-(

Rookie request here - I am looking at my nearby towers and was wondering if someone could provide pictures (or a description) on what a LTE ready tower looks like and what pre-LTE towers look like.

still waiting on that TXT... um....
I'm heading back to San Antonio tonight. I must be stupid to think that I will be welcomed with LTE signal but I still have that small amount of hope that Sprint will choose Sunday night to flip the switch... even though I am betting for a June 25th date or so.

One problem with these leaked internal communications is the over-eager among us get all geeked up as if it's the gospel and then when it doesn't come to pass they get all butt-hurt and act as if Sprint is misleading them and letting them down again.
Forget video of people lined up outside of stores waiting for devices; I want to see video of dudes huddled around towers running Speed Test over and over again.
"Dude my ping was 125ms! Dude, that's nothing! I just got 95ms ping with 1.78mbps d/l! Aww, man, my ping sucks donkey balls!! I f'ing hate Sprint!!"
Don't we all drive to towers and run speed tests over and over again...

Correct me if I'm wrong but word of this text message to customers is based off the Inside Sprint Now post and not anything officially announced by Sprint, right?
Correct. Unfortunately...

I'm in Sandy Springs and still haven't gotten "the text." I did get the fastest 3g speedtest result early this morning. It was 2210k down and 1500k up on 3g so something is going on.
This is like waiting for Santa Claus to show up.
:-/ Now I want it more, or at least faster 3G speeds. I have an average of 400k down in San Antonio.

lol either that or with the way the network has been acting here in san antonio ill get the txt sometime this weekend. im getting bombarded with txts dated monday night and tuesday morning just now lol.
My Galaxy Nexus struggles to find 3G service when I turn on/off airplane mode. Almost as if it wants to connect to LTE but it doesn't...

Patiently waiting...

And just when I post (after it has worked for me the past 3 days) it suddenly auto switches making this tip worthless.
