  1. The tower on 83 in downtown Hartford is covering most of the city. It has been broadcasting 800 on and off. There is another tower south of the city, in Erin, off of 83 that has a fairly large foot print. When I drove around, solely to map on Sensorly, a few weeks back I was surprised at it's reach. There is another tower on the east side of the city that I did see folks working on at the same time they did the one downtown. I used to float between the two before NV upgrades, now the one in downtown's signal is so strong that I have never connected to it since the downtown one lit up, even when driving right past it coming into the city. 2. The tower by me in Hartford is now broadcasting 800. Now its time for Sprint to finish up the rest of Milwaukee. The north and northwest side of the city are pretty barren on sensorly. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4
  3. LTE was tuned up on the previous mentioned tower here in Hartford this morning! Looks like I'll be wasting some gas this weekend mapping. Initial speedtest shows just around 10mbps down. Someone here mentioned the BSL not being accurate on the older Sprint equipment. Contrary to a previous post, I am pretty sure this tower was broadcasting the legacy stuff since the equipment on there was replaced when they added the NV equipment. If that is the case, it had reported a location not even close to where it is located, probably a mile or two north of where it is, which had me confused as I was never able to find a tower where it said it was. When they turned up NV earlier this week the BSL is now dead on.
  4. Things are starting to happen up here in Hartford, just what the folks in Milwaukee want to hear ; ). They finished the equipment upgrade on the newer tower that I mentioned in a previous post, which is by the police and fire stations, a couple weeks ago. There was also work that I saw being done on a tower on the other side of town. The newer tower was turned on today! I am not getting LTE from it yet but the 3G speeds are better then anything that I have seen up this way 1.94mbps down and 0.72mbps up. Previously the speeds averaged around 0.35mbps down which is useless. I've picked up LTE on Hwy 83 near the town of Erin recently (mapped on Sensorly) between Holy Hill Rd and County Q. I did get LTE north of Holy Hill Road on Sunday, but for whatever reason Sensorly did not start up so I didn't get that mapped yet. I'll get that mapped out in the next day or so.
  5. On the way home from work today I saw folks working on the towers in Hartford. One I know is marked as slated for an upgrade, the other is a bit off of where signal check shows it on the map, only by a block or two. It actually shows closer to a water tower but the equipment on that water tower looks more like repeater antennas rather then anything that would be cellular. I was able to get closer to one of them and saw a couple wooden crates next to the trailer parked at the base, but no un-boxed equipment. It certainly looks like the towers here are starting to get their upgrades and I can not tell you how happy that makes me!
  6. I've recently become a sponsor and help out what is a very useful and informative site. Not only the forums but the articles as well. I was pleased to see in the maps that the site here in Hartford that is slated for NV is only a few blocks from my house. In looking at the Samsung pics here there is no NV equipment on it yet. There does appear to be smaller equipment on it but I do not think it's Sprints. There is privacy fencing at the base so I won't be able to see the boxes. That tower was put up about two years ago, but I thought it was just going to be for municipal (police and fire). I'm sure it's a way for the city to get some extra income if they lease out space to Sprint. According to SignalCheck and Netmonitor I don't attach to it at all, and the two towers that I do are not marked for upgrades (at least not yet). It'll be interesting to see what happens those two, they are on the outskirts of town, this one is more central. Has Sprint decommissioned towers as they add new equipment? Either way I am excited that I will be able to check this guy pretty frequently to see once work starts. On a different note. I was at the Brewer game last Sunday and had LTE in my seat the entire time. I did not run a speedtest, but it was good enough that I was able to stream the USA vs El Salvador match via Slingbox with no lags or freezing.
  7. I've been lurking in this forum for a while but have not posted. I, as everyone else here, have been patiently and painfully awaiting the LTE roll out here in the Milwaukee market for quite some time. I've been working at one of my companies locations near Miller Park for the past couple days and have had LTE pop up on Signalcheck pro, but my radio never switched over to it. I believe the tower is right by Hawley and I-94.This afternoon we grabbed lunch at Fridays Front Row in Miller Park and I was very excited to see my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) switch over to 4G! I was entertaining vendors, so not to be rude I did not bury myself in the phone and run speed tests (although I certainly wanted to). I did have Sensorly running, but also see on the maps that folks have mapped that area out already. Anyone going to the games in the next few days should give an update to let us know if you have 4G for the game. Now if they would only light up Hartford...they are so close with Slinger. I'm further from the highway so my hopes are not up too much. However, a couple weeks ago I did see that my cell site out here went Ehrpd for a short time, but it is back to EvdoA. Speeds are abysmal out here and have been for quite some time. Question on anyone using Signalcheck. Have any of you had it cache a LTE signal after leaving an area. I have noticed that it does that for me. After driving home it still shows an LTE signal that it grabbed in Slinger. It stays even after a data reset. A reboot clears it. Could be a bug with it or with the ROM I am running (CM10.1 RC5). I probably should shoot a note out to the developer. Exciting times for those of us that have hung in there!
