  1. Oh gosh, it's opening day here at Yankee stadium and speeds just took a head first dive into the concrete. I would think that AlcaLu would upgrade the 161st street area with huge capacity and LTE for the massive crowds of 45,000+. Albeit they're not all sprint customers but easily a few thousand potentially are. My average speeds of 500kbps down with pings of ~100 just turned into 40kbps with pings 400+ lol. I need to move xD
  2. Thanks! I'll be sure to donate on my first paycheck if I get it soon hopefully.
  3. As much as I would, in all honesty, love to, I am currently in between jobs. I also need to stay on top of my bills and my school's tuition. >.> It's harder to get a job at a hospital these days. I've been waiting for a response for over a month now. :-(
  4. Any amount would help. It's the fact that you took the time to chip in is what matters.
  5. I think this will help. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-308-rssi-vs-rsrp-a-brief-lte-signal-strength-primer/
  6. ~95% is very good considering how many there are. Any reason why the other ~5% can't be upgraded?
  7. Some form? I thought 1900 3G and LTE was going to appear on most towers in general and a few 800SMR upgrades here and there. I mean when the build out is complete of course.
  8. I would trust the sponsor map since I think it shows the location of all the towers. Signal 2 isn't a perfect program but I find it to be accurate SOMETIMES. It's really a hit or miss type of thing because I've gotten GPS location of a few towers and the points were right on the money. Others not so much but at least if its not, it shows you the general direction from which the signal is coming from and strength. So try comparing the direction of the signal to the map and make an educated guess on which tower it could be. Just my 2 cents.
  9. Can it really? NYC is my market so Alcatel Lucent.
  10. My iPhone seems to lock onto LTE very well even if the signal is weak (100-114 decibels. Signal still amazingly works sometimes but it's like slow 3G). However my phone tends to do this a lot and eats my battery. As for AT&T and Verizon, it may have to do with the fact that their LTE network on on the 700mhz spectrum. Btw my prl just changed from 55012 to 51095. O.o
  11. My phone is chewing up my battery in this spotty coverage. I don't use much data when I'm out and about so I can't just keep it on 3G only or turn data off entirely. In which case my phone lasts forever lol. I've only used 1 Gb of 3G data and 400 mb of 4G data thus far and my cycle ends in 3 days. (Give it I am on wifi a lot thankfully).
  12. Agreed. Both this and the sensorly mapping can be overlayed. I can see the relationship between population density and site density is very familiar.
  13. Most definitely. Signal is as good as being on the sidewalk.
  14. How far down tremont? It's been fine around Grand Concourse up to University as far as I know.
  15. Well this is just impressive at -121 decibels. I loaded this website and another like normal.
  16. Bias? I don't think so... But that's just me. I had the first iPod touch and jailbroke it but my first real smartphone was a Motorola droid something... Had it rooted with cyanogen mod 6 or 7 which was cool but ultimately chose MiUi. I liked the interface better. More recently I put cyanogen mod 10 on my sisters hp touch pad which is a ton better than web os. Then I got an iPhone 4, jailbroke it and it is just more appealing to me. I'm sure the jailbreak community has a lot more variety and support than the rooting community (don't hold me against that). Now I got the 5 and I couldn't be happier with evasi0n. So in the end it's personal preference. I liked my rooted android... But jailbreaking iOS takes the win for me. :-)
  17. There's a fix for that on cydia. Search iOS 6.x weather app fix. Source is SiNful iPhone repo I believe.
  18. On par? I think it just decimates any other device on the market period. ... That's just me though. Jailbroke every apple product I ever bought since '08. :-)
  19. It takes like 5 mins to jailbreak. Use a friends computer.
  20. On which end? Cell site or your location. Perhaps both. I wouldn't be surprised but it must be close I'm guessing.
  21. It's called Signal 2. You need to have a jailbroken iPhone with access to Cydia.
  22. It's called Signal 2. You need to have a jailbroken iPhone with access to Cydia.
  23. Is it bad if I use this third-party program? Shows GPS locations of where I am, and tower I'm connected to, decibel level, signal technology (it said CDMA of course), and more information on neighboring towers. It resembles the page on android phones that does similarly in terms of information given.
