  1. Got a call today from tech support regarding my eCSFB ticket. Apparently four sites in the Binghamton/Endicott area were fixed today, can't wait to get home and try it. It's about time!

Tried two sites, one in Endwell, one in Endicott. Both have non-functioning eCSFB. Calls to my phone when on LTE go straight to voicemail.

However, the 4G site down the road in Owego has functioning eCSFB, for what it's worth. Found that out at my new job last week.

  2. Not that well, still a lot of 3G spots left and good luck getting 4G inside a building. I thought 4G would be the same coverage as 3G, not even close. I live in sight of a tower, get 26 mbps outside, only 3G inside my house. I hope Sprint isn't done yet because if this is it, it'd be a disappointment.

You have a lot to learn young grasshopper. :-)

800Mhz LTE (Band 26) will essentially mimic 3G coverage once it is turned on. It is not widespread in the Upstate NY market yet, only B25 1900Mhz is.

  3. So we've all got 1x800 now on almost all of the full build sites, finally!

The Binghamton market is still having issues with eCSFB, regrettably. I opened up a ticket yesterday with Sprint's technical line, hoping the engineers look into it and actually find something wrong.

Any eCSFB issues in Syracuse or Albany? Or do triband devices place and receive calls just fine up there?

As far as LTE800, I've gotta assume it's just a matter of time for us now that 800 voice is accepted. :-) And hopefully the GMO sites will be knocked out by the end of the year along our connecting highways.

  4. Finally got my OTA. I didn't even know it was downloading until I saw the notification saying I could install it (I didn't know what it was until I checked lol).

Looks like we were on the same schedule, mine just updated too! :)

  5. This has always piqued my curiosity. Say it's just a run of the mill Sprint site - 3 panels, 6 RRUs. (Not including the computers and equipment that are in the "huts" at the base of the tower) Is it like running 3-4 120v window air conditioners in my home? Or way, way above that? I've got no clue what kind of juice it takes to broadcast cellular signals to an entire town.

  6. Pinpoint is useless for eCSFB issues. You have to get a ticket open. And no, even most of the advanced support team is clueless about eCSFB. Some of them are aware that tri-band devices have specific issues, but generally they aren't any more knowledgeable than that.

I'll call back tomorrow then. (Or Monday if they're closed on weekends)

  7. I called last week, nothing has changed so far. I vaguely remember seeing something on the forums about opening a ticket. They merely pinpointed the sites I was having eCSFB issues on (all of them in my market). Do I need to create a ticket to further escalate this issue?

The representative mentioned that there had already been six other calls about this same issue in my market, and at six, they start to take action.

I mentioned eCSFB and got no response - this team should know what that is, right?

  8. 4.4.3 with new .13 radio. So far going to get groceries and do a few errands I haven't connected to 1X800 but my PCS signal has been so good there hasn't been a reason to use 800. I work all over the Syracuse area tomorrow, I'll keep an eye on what I'm connected to then.

Any findings? I've got zilch as far as 800 goes down here still.

1900Mhz actually got worse in the last week, girlfriend's house is unusable and Sprint won't send them a free Airave even with 4 lines in the house. I told Sprint we'd send it back when 800 is live and optimized but I don't think the reps know what I'm even talking about  :D
