  1. I have an HTC one and it is outstanding holding on to LTE and 3G. Even in fringe areas.
  2. Everyone is finally realizing that Sprint is coming back with a vengeance.
  3. I don't know that the FCC would be happy with that if they are selling a built HackRF... they can get around the FCC by selling it as kits... rather than complete products...
  4. Wouldn't you need a license to use those? I know Rx you are ok but Tx... I can't image that the FCC or anyone who uses licensed spectrum is going to be too happy about that.
  5. Hopefully this will mean better integration, RIM is on the way out and MS can use the opening to get their foothold on the enterprise enviromente RIM is leaving behind, even if it is at a loss. Remember that MS is a very large corporation with many different businesses, some more lucrative than others, mobile sounds like a great way to give them other business. Banks give you toasters, MS will give you cheap phones that are secure and are turnkey solutions. Who know...
  6. I want a booster at my gf's house because she has a hotspot (nothing else is available) and we are happy to pay for the appropiate tier... if its usable... Its not unlimited and it is stationary. That is the reason they make hotspots... to abuse them on LTE.
  7. Also it is not for internet use. It is really in case of an emergency there is another way to get help. The house phone is not always reliable. Even power is not reliable and we are going to be getting solar soon.
  8. Not to mention getting visited by the feds. I am guessing those boosters stop at 1990 because beyond that is an uplink (device to tower) only frequency and since they do not boost uplink there is no reason to support it. Correct?
  9. My old Verizon phone had separate signal bars for 1x and EV. It could be nice to do that with three instead of two 1X EV and LTE
  10. It is for my girlfriend's house she lives in an area not served by cable, DSL or FIOS. Even land-line telephone is iffy. Satellite will not work with an airave
  11. I was thinking of getting this one. http://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/ag-pro-75-amplifier-only-75db-dual-band-50ohm-801280/
  12. It looks like calibration is not a big issue. http://micro.arocholl.com/images/stories/RFExplorer/Calibration/CalibrationPC.html
  13. I see. I did not realize that LTE was being house in a separate block than CDMA. On the seconds question, do they amplify connection based or just amplify everything?
  14. Apparently you can adjust the sweep time on these devices. No? http://micro.arocholl.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=71:accuracy-precision-and-resolution&catid=42:faq&Itemid=68
  15. I am curious as to whether putting a booster on my barely served (~110db - ~90db with a lot of ec/lo by windows) will also boost LTE signals once they get turned on. I plan on putting up a directional antenna to hopefully mitigate the echo. I plan on getting a wilson booster, I am not sure if it boosts everything or if it picks and chooses what to boost.
  16. I have to wait until the end of the month... stupid grown up obligations...
  17. You saw it here first! http://convergence.sprint.com/downloads/400G%20release%20final%208-15.pdf Back-haul, back-haul back-haul! I doubt this will translate directly to network speeds on the near term but long term it looks like backhaul should not be a problem, except last mile issues we have currently. Thoughts?
  18. I can't imagine that for that price range you are expecting a precision tool but the software and algorithms that make it tick are being actively improved and anyone with the inclination can speak with the engineers behind this tool with ideas, they seem very receptive.
  19. With this affordable analyzer we might start getting more users posting sweeps.
  20. Glad to hear. Do post some screenshots if you can of the PC display. From what I see I can use it to point all sorts of directional antennas provided I get the appropriate adapters.
  21. Does anyone has experience with these units? I guess I can take a plunge for $270. But insight would be helpful. It should definitely help hunt down SMR signals. I think it might even help with pointing my TV Antenna
  22. I am currently in the market for an inexpensive spectrum analyzer and I came across RF explorer. http://micro.arocholl.com It looks like an impressive little device. Is anyone familiar with this particular family of devices and if they are reliable. I am very inclined to buy it but I want to run it by everyone with more experience that me on this.
  23. I know some of the customer left because they felt they were treated poorly during the migration. I disagree but this is what I am hearing from some guys around here who went to Verizon after the shutdown.
