  1. I swear by vonage for home phone, the extra fax line is a nice. Very international long distance is what sold me.
  2. I'm not sure what I'm seeing here... it just looks like a server room that is being demolished. Is this supposed to be some sort of MSC for Nextel?
  3. Funny you say that I was just looking through the slides from the Oct 2011 meeting on NV and the second slide has a quote from Warren Buffet talking about idiots running the company and how he buys stocks from companies that can be run by idiots... It made me chuckle.
  4. I found this one about fuel cells http://www.telecomlead.com/telecom-services/sprint-deploy-hydrogen-fuel-cell-technology-92754/
  5. In all likelihood they will. At least from the recent press releases it seems that they are definitely interested. I know a number of rural dwellers that would jump at that opportunity. Fixed wireless should be easier to plan and maintain towers for even if they are heavy users, correct?
  6. Update profile? Make sure you are in CDMA/LTE. I had a similar issue at one point and that helped. I would call Sprint to get the phone re provisioned in case none of that works.
  7. Mine just seems to hold on to LTE for a long time after its lost connectivity and then it goes into scanning every five to ten minutes, perhaps that's what you are referring to. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  8. I haven't found any problems or anything really new. I don't know anyone who has a HD voice capable phone.
  9. I'm getting ready to download this now. http://www.pocketables.com/2014/01/sprint-htc-updated-3-05-651-6-fixes-profileprl-bug.html Here the sprint link: https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/146002 http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Find_and_update_the_software_version_on_your_HTC_One/WServiceAdvisory_542_GKB48984?INTNAV=SU:DP:OV:UG:HtcOne:FindAndUpdateTheSoftwareVersionOnYourHtcOne Apparently these are the fixes - WiFi always scanning for networks, even when the that option is turned off. - Shorter WiFi range, causing more frequent disconnects. - LTE not connecting. - SIM card error messages that persist, even after a supposed fix was rolled out. - Proximity sensor calibration issues. - RSSI fix - HD Voice Improvements - PRL/Profile errors.
  10. Most (if not all) of these boosters only boost the downlink (tower to phone) signal and leave the uplink (phone to tower) signal untouched (minus whatever gain the outside antenna provides). Am I correct on that?
  11. I guess I came across a very uninformed. I was basically looking for ammunition to go back to them and explain what is going on. I have never had any speed issues (latency never being an issue in that area) once I get LTE. Penetration of LTE being a practical issue. I am happy with my service, unfortunately those in girlfriend's family are not so much. Thank you for throwing a bunch of useful facts to help my argument.
  12. I ran across this article while perusing Shentel's site today. https://www.shentel.com/shentel/news/shentel-announces-completion-of-its-sprint-4g-lte-upgrade I was just in Martinsburg, WV for Christmas and did a quick speed test there and came back less than impressed. HSPA speeds are in the 15 Mb range in AT&T in the same spot. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/683189973 That brings me to my questions for anyone who can answer, do we expect this network to keep upgrading as demand increases. I have several family member in the Martingsburg, WV area to Front Royal, VA area complaining about poor speeds even if the coverage is up to par with other carriers. Any update or insight would be appreciated.
  13. The alarm ring on the LG G2 is so terrible its awesome...
  14. I have had that happen to me on my HTC One in and around Union Station.
  15. So 80Mbps... That's faster than what we should expect to get with spark...? Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  16. It is not noticeable in DC or Northern VA as far as I can tell.
  17. From the pictures I saw some time back, I think on Wikipedia, it looked as if some of that equipment was ancient, the coloring made it look as if it had wood paneling...
  18. That would have to be done in and RF cancelling box, with only a airave and a verizon phone in it. So that all rogue verizon signals are supressed. Does Verizon have a roaming agreement with Sprint? I guess their agreement works both ways.
  19. I already have, Its free and it works well.
  20. How about Google+? Those hangout work quite well.
  21. Ericson apparently responded too. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/ericsson-cto-responds-vendors-absence-sprints-spark-program/2013-10-30
