  1. Just an update. with 6 days to go, I started the return process with Amazon and bought a lightly used EVO 4G LTE.. The stability sucked and seemed to have gotten worse the more I used it. Sound quality went down hill with many asking "are you in tunnel? are you under water?" and the such with 3+ bars of coverage... it would NEVER take a clear photo. I am happy to have an EVO back. data while on the phone is nice, people like the sound quality on their end as well...
  2. Alright, I found an issue that might be a deal breaker for me.. During a voice call (I am sometimes on bridge calls for hours on end) No data... nothing.. my phone exploded when I dropped the voice call.. I didn't think such a step backwards would even be considered on a new phone. UPDATE The data issue is sprint. Not the phone. No sprint Spark phone can toss data and voice at the same time. Talk about stupid.
  3. That was actually out of the box bone stock... it's gotten a bit better, but not much. I have complained to amazon thinking maybe it is a bad battery or phone.. I also have an app that locks up all the time and is unsable. On my EVO it was rock solid stable. The developer does not have a handset to try it on so I am not sure where to go with them on that.
  4. so far battery life for me has been far far less than advertised.. my evo even with an old crappy battery would make it till 3-4 PM.. this one is dead by noon after a full charge over night. I should also mention it went in the lake the other day.. about 2 feet down.. (forgot it in my pocket) still works. So I have that going for me.
  5. No where in settings or on the phone does it say HD voice. I do VOIP installs and can tell you, this phone is no polycom with HD voice. That said, it sounds better than my evo when on the phone. But remember you are taking that from a guy with hearing loss and tone deafness. Sorry, I don't need to root the phone so I have not tried any roots on it. I activated it on Sprint. My EVO had 6 months to go before the contract was up. I am hard on phones so for less than the deductible on insurance I bought this phone. If you look at it as a phone that costs less than 1/4 (or so) of a galaxy S5 it's a nice phone. If you compare it to an S5, your gonna hate it. I have it on the framily plan with sprint.
  6. Alright.. loaded what I needed. still have 3.5 gigs of space open. I put my 16 gig sd in it.. Works well, and the speaker is loud enough for me. (I am half deaf and work in loud areas.. I can hear it ring and txt) only issue I have had so far is the pop up keyboard stopped popping up but was actually there. a restart fixed that.
  7. I am activating one as we speak. I just need the chat rep to understand I am NOT going to put 11 dollar insurance on a 150 dollar phone (bought outright on Amazon).
  8. Then it was just odd timing then huh? well.. that makes me feel better that it is completely out of my control. Now. who turned it off and how much do I have to pay um to turn it back on again?
  9. Ok.. I know. I am in Minnesota. I recently rooted my phone.. And for about half an hour.. I wish I knew what part of the root made the 4g work and what got pushed to the phone to stop it.
