  1. If you truly are on the same tower, perhaps your Evo traffic is going through a proxy. ##3282# > View Mode > Advanced > HTTP PD Proxy Address. What do you have?
  2. I could find nothing on the phone indicating the software had been loaded. If installed, it It shows up in: Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Networks > Automatic Connections But nothing was in there so it is not preloaded for some reason.
  3. Check out FierceWireless. This is why Blackberry is getting stomped. Corporate employees want to use their own phones. However, I did not realize how much Apple dominates enterprise activations (according to Good).
  4. You can also use imgur.com and link the files. But even if you cannot afford Premier Sponsorship, donating a few bucks for regular Sponsorship to keep the lights on around here gives you access to a wealth of maps as well as sponsor-only chats.
  5. Correct. The reason is that the amount of data traffic doubles every year due to the proliferation of smartphones and mobile broadband cards and Sprint's network is unable to handle the growth.
  6. Oh, it is. As of today, Chicago has both the most towers completed (165 of 1,122) as well as the highest percentage of towers complete (14.1%).
  7. Nah. All I know is that the device has to be loaded into Sprint's billing system for it to work. And until a CDMA version is released (and I doubt it will), we will just have to speculate.
  8. I have verified that the LG Viper is capable of doing simultaneous voice and data without LTE and WiFi. I set Network Mode to CDMA/EvDo auto and made sure that Wifi was off. I called another phone and left the connection open. I was able to visit multiple websites. From what I have read internally, the reason this works is because EVDO and 1xRTT operate completely independently. The chips are completely separate. Pretty cool, anyway.
  9. You can also go into any corporate store and have it replaced... which is what I would do. And make sure it works before you leave. This is affecting many but not all phones.
  10. Found the info. Sprint is indeed investigating this phenomenom but I have not seen a Known Issue put out.
  11. By joining becoming a sponsor of this site, you will be able to access that information and much, much more including exact locations of those towers. Please click the Forums link to find the PayPal link.
  12. Eh, I had hope since some dude on the sprint.com forums said he had service. (Damn lies, I tell ya!) I like the phone. I may get it for my daughter to replace her Optimus.
  13. I think I saw a notice come out at work about this and Sprint is investigating. I will try to remember to double-check tomorrow.
  14. Bummer. Went outside with a LG Viper and could not catch any tasty waves from the LTE tower a mile away.
  15. Googling found that SIB = System Information Blocks. Lots of good information. Here's a YouTube video. LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P4j5Kn8HCc
  16. Very good, Robert! I learned a lot from this article. I was told that there were handoff issues between legacy and NV towers but did not know the details. Funny how this site helps be do my job!
  17. Any chance you were under the bubble of the antenna?
  18. Once they deploy HD Voice they damn well better!
