  1. Finally someone else who confirms that Google voice integration has issues with calls going through. Did you used to hear your own voice echo when calls didn't connect?
  2. If it's an apple device you can be go to an apple store and they will give you a free sim.
  3. They used to regularly put these on sale for free but haven't seen it happen in a while
  4. I'm sure a lot of people saw the size of the N6 and decided to go with the N5
  5. Give it a month and the N6 will be available everywhere .. It's weird that the N5 is out of stock, but I'm not trying to buy one anyway. Makes me think something is in the works.
  6. I really hope Google refreshes the N5 with an N5b soon. They need to keep updating the 5" form factor
  7. T-mobile is very fast in Phoenix but like most places, leave the city and your on 2g. Indoor coverage isn't so good and there is no 700 mhz being deployed here.
  8. I'm run a TMO sim with the $30 / prepaid plan in my N5 just to try out their service. Usually it's been in a fit of frustration with Sprint's slow LTE upgrades here in Arizona and wanted to see what life would be like on T-mobile. There is also the Tmobile test drive option. Might do that in 2015 if they improve rural LTE coverage.
  9. Wiping the cache is harmless. I just did it to my phone. When it came back up it said "no service" as well, but after about it minute it was back on Sprint. Go into recovery, wipe cache, let it finish, reboot, and let it sit for a few minutes .
  10. re-wipe the cache and let it complete.. It's not good to stop things part way through.
  11. smorcy11, for stuff like this, youtube is often your best resource. You can find videos there that will walk you through the whole process. Try this one: Install ADB Install Android 5.0 on N5
  12. if you let google voice integrate your SMS and hangouts messages, you have to log into voice.google.com and opt-out of that to get SMS messages coming into the new app. That is what I had to do anyway.
  13. Battery life seems as bad as usual I'm 6 hours on so far, 56% battery left.. 1.5 hours screen on time. I don't think that is much different than 4.4 performance.
  14. I can confirm that twrp is not compatible with this OS if you encrypt your data partition. Something to keep in mind if you encrypt and want a custom recovery.
  15. There is a new Google messenger app out. I just switched to it from hangouts.. Will give it a test drive over the next week. Available from the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging
  16. worked here.. You can run adb kill-server instead of opening task manager.. Also the long bootup time is only on the first boot. Once you have it set up, it boots fast.
  17. As soon as you see the 5.0 image show up on this page, it's live.. https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images You can also d/l it from that page and install it if you're not patient enough to wait on the OTA, which may not hit your phone for several days.
  18. Sprint better do something about service in Glendale for the Superbowl. I was in the Gila River arena which is right next door for a concert last Friday. Had 3G service only, and it was completely dead. No data, text messages to my friends ATT phone were taking 20-30 minutes to show up. Phone was basically a brick. Outside there was some LTE, but it was band 25 only, and speeds were 2Mbits download.
  19. For all the people having problems with no mobile data, this is something I've seen quite a bit when switching sims between tmobile and sprint. The fix that has always worked for me is to go into mobile network settings, and toggle the phone to global or 3g, then back to LTE preferred. This seems to update a bunch of settings. I used to factory reset to get my data back till I discovered this fix.
  20. I only use wells Fargo for the free phone insurance, which is a great deal. Everything else goes through my credit union account. Saving $11 a month is worth it to me.
  21. Thanks. I'm going to be really curious what kind of cases come out for this phone. There will obviously be some extra challenge in getting a case that works with the curve, and protects the phone.
  22. Will this work right now, with existing B41 sites, or are configuration changes needed on the network side to enable CA ?
  23. No subsidy will negatively impact high end sales, at least a bit.. No reason for me not to buy a new flagship phone for $200 under the current model, but if that goes away, devices like the Nexus 5 or used phones will start to look way more attractive than making monthly payments on a $700 phone.
