  1. Looking at the speadsheet, It looks like you may need more gci, Before you make a forecast gci on them. Have Dkoellerwx(david) look at it, he did chicago forecast gci and embedded stuff.
  2. True, It is funny though. They are selling 10 billion in assets, and the bill for aws auction is 10 billion
  3. He does good work Your welcome, just let me know what you need me for .
  4. Let me know if you need any help, I will let you know. GCI are key to get everything going . I can't wait to see the map/spreadsheet
  5. It will go live before tuning, A lot of times. They turn it on, with the lowest power setting. Then then tune after that
  6. Sadly no! In central illnois, it seems like they are building where uscc use to have coverage. That is due to losing uscc for roaming though. In Chicago market, It is where they have fair coverage. Like burlington, hampshire(part of the town is roaming), just a few examples. Chicago is the model market, so this is going to happen in other areas
  7. "The contract with Aldridge, based in Libertyville, is a key part of a $27 million project to improve the subway cellular network, consisting of about 111/2 miles of underground passage on the Blue and Red lines. The network, which the CTA licenses to six wireless service providers, generates $1.8 million a year to the transit agency, officials said. Aldridge will use the CTA's existing fiber-optic cable, power sources and other equipment to minimize the upgrade's cost, officials said." http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2014-07-09/news/ct-cta-subway-wireless-upgrade-met-0710-20140710_1_cta-riders-subway-cellular-network-cta-board
  8. Yea! All new sites will have 800/1900 antenna and a TDD 2600 band 41 antenna for every new site , I found another uscc converted site in Hampshire last night. For premier members, This one and new site in Hampshire are on the maps already in the premier section. I know we don't have as many people as we use to, who come on the Chicago boards. But Chicago market is becoming a fun one to watch all the new progress
  9. Site still not turned on(electric meter isn't on) yet I did see flags for backhaul, So it should happen soon
  10. That is awesome, I hope sprint can work out a deal with google for backhaul in fiber cities
  11. It sounds like from http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/us-cellular-agrees-sell-non-core-towers-159m/2014-12-11 "The carrier has been trying for months to sell what it had termed "non-strategic" towers in areas outside of its core markets." That sounds like all the markets it sold to sprint. This was pretty recently, so I am not surprised that the towers still say uscc on them. Yea the converted tower here isn't on and I will let you guys know when it is.
  12. That one I am not sure, uscc may have a lease deal with some tower company. I know the one in chicago is still owned by uscc according to the fcc website and was labeled in uscc tags all over the site.
  13. Yea and sadly they got more spectrum from uscc spectrum deal. But then lose uscc coverage from chicago, all the way down to saint louis for roaming. So now I don't blame them for using uscc towers, so they don't have to pay verizon.I am sure uscc is giving sprint a nice leasing deal on the towers too, seeing how they are losing money on the towers(dead asset). Since, now they basically they don't use the cell site. We have a uscc turning into sprint site in the chicago(filling in a nice gap were coverage is poor too) and hopefully have more coming soon.
  14. It is the new thing now, to sell your towers to a tower company and then the tower company leases them back to the company. I am not surprised at them doing this, and I am happy they are doing it. It means that they are taking some steps to funding network vision. I agree with the backhaul thing, I hope sprint taught them a few lessons about that. That was the biggest fail of network vision upgrades
  15. For the premier members- The Chicago premier maps are updated http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6471-chicagoland-market-20-premier-spreadsheet-map/
  16. You should have full strength/bars if you right by the base of the tower, sounds like it isn't turned on yet. Either way, It will be nice to have when turned on. It should help out with coverage in hampshire too . Let me know when it is turned on, I will add it to the premier map . On a funny note, I was looking at sprint coverage the other day and was like. They really need to fix that hole in coverage in burlington and hampshire. Well They are
  17. Where is this site located?? It is about time, Burlington has always been marginal at best for sprint.
  18. that is typically due to not being able to put a put towers in thoses areas, rich people don't like to see ugly things like cell towers. Yet they demand good cell service hmmmm
  19. Near the end of the article http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-378-800-reasons-in-south-florida-why-sprint-is-further-delayed-to-deploy-lte-on-800mhz/
  20. On the wimax thing, as long as it isnt huawei equpment. They can keep up the equipment and still broadcast a signal to keep the protection site. That is what I would do until I could get 8t8r on it
  21. This first link is when they were going to build their own 4g network http://www.alcatel-lucent.com/press/2013/002822 This second link is when they switched to use sprints http://www.alcatel-lucent.com/press/2014/alcatel-lucent-lte-technology-selected-ntelos-wireless-support-its-strategic-network-alliance-sprint Hope this helps people who have questions on what they are doing and why it is taking so long. That second press release wasn't until September 2014.
  22. I will agree with that, Chicago market is now more true to what the coverage map should reflect
