  1. Thanks. I was going by what I discovered using a simple google search and then looking up the specific chipset model on qualcomm's site. I did not have the more advanced information available.

Now I am definitely getting rid of my note 4.

Question is, what phone is the best on the market now or near future? G4, GS6, Flex 2, ? I won't buy apple, ..

Do any headsets currently have uplink CA? Because the one guy who tested with 30Mbps, that was uplink CA correct? Uplink CA is BIG for me, almost a requirement because like you all I want to filly utilize spark here in Salem and Portland area.

So far uplink CA info looks obsure but I gather support is not guaranteed.

I am bigger on upload than download because of all the web development and video uploading I do. I often have on the go 10GB uploads a couple times a month.

I would not get rid of your note 4 just yet. The note 5 is only 2-3 months away and with a potential 4k screen and usb type c support and possible 3xCA support I would advice you to just stick it out. CA is in the beginning phases anyway. Let it pick up steam so you will have a better experience. If band 41 is in your area and it works for you now you can still benefit from a second band 41 carrier. Personally I'm waiting to see the One Plus 2, Moto X 2015, Nexus devices, and Note 5. For all we know even the next iphone might have 3xCA. Wait and see.

  2. If you re-read what he said above Sprint won't want to mention what it's missing. NO markets are 100% 1900 LTE complete &  As far as I know in all ( or most ) markets - there is no 800 LTE right now at all.

Why mention that the iPhone 5s will do 800 LTE when NEWS articles the next day would MOCKINGLY say "Sprint CEO says iPhone 5s will do 800 LTE - TOO BAD IT DOESNT YET EXIST !"

Oh I understand now. Yep makes since.

  3. There's always a headset or bluetooth for those that need to jab on the phone all day.  I'm sure they've thought of that.  I can care less what I look like on the phone.  I can care less what others think as I'm no longer in middle school trying to fit in with the right "look".

So back to the size thing.  What kind of pants do people have that a phone that is 0.6 inches longer and 0.3 wider but yet thinner not fit in?  If this were true that it didn't fit in the pocket, then my Note2 in the Otterbox defender definitely would not fit in my shorts, workout shorts, or 32 inch waist jeans.  Us older folk actually used to carry around this thing called a check book with all kinds of crap stuffed in behind the register sheets, which ended up being bigger than this phone.  Get over it.  Some people will enjoy this phone some will not.  Some will just secretly be jealous of the device and hate the fact that it isn't hip and they have to get a small phone to "fit in".  It's just the way things are.  It's great to have so many choices in phones and not stuck to just one size and look.  I'm not 100% sold on getting this device but I think it's great that Sprint has chosen to carry this device and make it tri-band to boot!  Awesome!

i dont like using bluetooth unless its for streaming music in my car. Just another thing I have to buy and charge. I finally played with this thing earlier today and I don't like how slippery it is and how big it is. Its like me having a nexus 7 for a phone. Some people may like this phone but its not for me. Good to see options though

  4. i have enormous hands and i would not buy this phone because while it might fit in my hands the fact that its bigger than the note 3 and will not have svlte or svdo your going to look so stupid with that up to your head and the midrange specs almost guarantees that its not going to get updates or accessories and accessories are important to me. It will not fit into a pocket. I seen the reviews for this device and it is a hassle to put into even deep pockets as its closer to a tablet than a phablet. I'm not happy about this at all and actually to me doesn't make since why they would do this in the first place. For me anyway its basically wait for the G2 or just wait until next years phone or PRAY TO THE HEAVENS THAT THIS NEXUS ON SPRINT COMES TO SAVE US ALL! Amen.

  5. Or he didn't want to draw attention to the media that Sprint has multiple LTE bands, and it is missing one of them. I would have not discussed it either. Sprint needs iPhone sales to be robust. They cannot take a chance on the narrative about their new iPhones are missing something. It was a wise decision to skip that point at this time. Also, we are not wrong. Apple says they support Band 26 in the 5c and 5S. R

He mentioned it won't have td lte 2600, and only mentioned it would have 1900 and said not having the band wont impact sales. I don't see how mentioning that the iphone has 800mhz LTE would have been a bad thing as it provides more coverage and building penetration so I don't see why he wouldn't have mentioned that. Would give people the ease of mind knowing they at least get dual band

  6. Actually, it is worse.  The Sprint Samsung GN3 is single band.  I wouldn't recommend anyone buy a Sprint Note 3, unless they also got a Triband LTE hotspot to go with it.  It's just crazy to buy a single band LTE device right now.  To miss out on two years of two other bands is just unconscionable.  Especially since one of those bands provides building penetration/distance, and the other provides much faster speeds.

The Sprint Executive actually did not mention 800 mhz LTE on the 5S or 5C almost like either he didn't know it supports it or it does not support it and we are wrong.

  7. The iphone 5 is still retaining quite a bit of its value.  You can probably sell your iphone 5 and just pay the difference for a 5s unsubsidised and keep your upgrade or sell the iphone 5, use your upgrade and still have a couple hundred left over for something else.

I like HTC but this is the reason I will not buy another HTC product. HTC value drops so fast in the first year its ridiculous. High demand=high long term value I suppose.

Teaser: Is the LG D820 the Nexus 5???

Yes its ok to vent what you are not happy with the phone.  I dont plan to get the phone anyways but you would think that Google would want to pack a beefier battery than a 2300 maH.  At least pack a 2600 maH battery like the GS4.

The galaxy S4 has to have a bigger battery because of all the features it has that sucks the life out of the battery also this device has a snapdragon 800 which is even more efficient at saving power than the 600 in the S4. Since it a pure nexus device I would expect the battery life to be better than the S4 since the HTC One has a 2300 mah and the S4 has a 2600 and in most cases the HTC ONE always last longer because there is minimum bloat.

Teaser: Is the LG D820 the Nexus 5???

Please let this be true.  I have been waiting since the Nexus S for this phone...

Question for those talking about buying a phone off contract on Sprint.  Why?  As far as I know they don't offer lower rates so what's the point?  Just to give you the freedom to leave if you want?  Why would Sprint do that?

And does this support the 800 LTE or whatever.  I see people say they are passing on a lot of Sprint phones due to no triband.

I will tell you why no contract for a nexus is so important. Its because for me two reasons. 1. It will get updates straight from google and will not be a repeat of the nexus s or galaxy nexus because Sprint won't sell it directly but it would be compatible with the bands on their network. 2. If you get the nexus off contract then you still have a upgrade available when Sprint releases next year's phones and hey if Sprint does not move fast enough in your neck of the woods with network vision you could leave and take that same nexus 5 to T-mobile or At&t without having to worry about a termination fee. Anymore questions?

  8. So, to confirm I'm not reading this incorrectly... No SVDO or SVLTE means I cannot use LTE / 3G Data and voice at the same time?  This seems crazy to me.  Why does it seem the trend is going this way as opposed to the opposite way?  I can't be the only person to use the hotspot function while on a conference call at least once a week...

Its probably something that will be solved next year with the new batch of LTE handsets. At least on the SVLTE side.
