  1. See this FCC Filing that Sprint submits on a monthly basis: https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/10801544322248/800 MHz Monthly Report for August 2018.pdf
So, In El paso it looks like the channel is cleared, but episd hasn't relocate to their new assigned channel. Hope we still get the full 5mhz after waiting this long...

  2. Someone has filed a motion to stop the merger review for the time being.. to review spectrum totals on per market basis. Just wanted to let everyone know

    https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/t-mobile-sprint-say-no-way-to-motion-to-pause-their-merger-proceeding

Let's see what the FCC does the last thing we need is for them to postpone even longer

Although is does give Sprint more time to work on the network

  3. Tmobile has 65,000 total sites including many many  DAS nodes inherited from MetroPCS that I've come across. They do not have by themselves  65,000 macro sites. It's closer to 45-50k range.

I was about to say the same. The combined company is going to have a around a 110 thousand combined sites.. T-Mobile in the public filing stated that they will only keep 10, 000 of Sprint sites to boost density and capacity.. the rest of the sites to equal the 85000 the new T-Mobile is going to newly build

  4. Sprint still hasn't finished El Paso?!? I know there are a few sites that haven't been touched in West Texas (SW of Monahans and between Van Horn and Fort Stockton), but if this site is in the immediate El Paso area, then this is just....[emoji52].
Ya, I'm sure on a bigger scale there are a few more then we would like out there

  5. I dont think so. It is onky being deployee in urban cores. Not even suburbs are getting 5 g love by enlarge. If they were serious about building a 5g network 75 percent of their towers would be palmed for massive Mimo upgrades, as it is it is closer to a quarter.  You anti merger people live in a fantasy world if you think sprint will be anything more than a metro or cricket circa 2013 if the merger doesnt go through.
P.s.. There brand is still trash compared to even T mobile worst year. And T-Mobile recovered after billions and years of rebranding. Where are those billions going to come for sprint?
I don't think anyone is anti merger.. 1st not 1 carrier currently at this point is bringing 5G to other areas other then the city that we're annouced and even in those cities its questionable how widespread it will be so your argument on that part is irrelevant.. 2nd. Massive Mimo isn't cheap to install, so that would happen over time. Sprints brand is showing signs of live again in the last few Quarters nothing crazy, but it's something

  6. It also doesnt give them the resources to build out a 5g network properly, restore their brands or come up with a market place niche. I was asking back in 2014 why would someone buy sprint amd cam only come up with price. That is still the case. How is VoLTE going to work on their network across most markets? There is a reason people have to opt. Into it.
Your post is referring to scalability..volte will have issues just like any other carrier but Sprint can't afford to have that bad rep again so they're allowing you to opt out if it's really bad nothing wrong with that

  7. That’s a great point. We’ve seen this happen with Sprint before, where it would gain the lead in a flagship market like Chicago only to lose it after 6 - 12 Months as the other carriers catch up.
Is the pace of network improvements at this point primarily limited by available capex, available work crews or available equipment?
I hope they can bring some strand mounts or other rapid network improvements to the Bethany Beach, DE and Ocean City, MD areas. I was there several years ago and the network coverage was terrible. I currently have family there now on Sprint (with an S8+ and HTC U11) and they’re telling me it’s still terrible.
This time around it's different ( imo).. Sprint was very indecisive in the past( they only kind of Improved in those market and didn't go all out 100%).

Sprint knows what's at risk and this time around i don't see them letting up.. at nextgencpu pointed out this was achieve pure spectrum and small cells.. so, Sprint celebrate this a few days and gets back to work.. running higher back haul, implementing 4x4 mimo, and massive is next and more aggressive throughout NYC.. I think this is only the beginning now Sprint will let loose

  8. Honestly they have all the tools to really bring it with 5G hell even with 4G(we all know what happened there). They just lack  scale which is going to possibly be a problem for 5G and density.  If Sprint can get to together, I have no problem coming back for their 5G network cause I know they can outdo the competition and not have a crap ton of small cells on every other block cause of MmWave.
Yup and Sprint still has less user per site ... So the network should run very smooth and fast .. in a lot of cities all the Network needed in most cases was just getting tri band on their grid

  9. I thought I'd do the honors lol and whats crazy this is only the beginning.. this seems to be their first real big push towards improving the Network across the Nation

  10. Neither am I, but since they insist that they can't compete successfully apart, if the merger isn't approved then it would seem to me that would be their only option if they want to survive.

This is just sprint adding more fuel to the merger review.. I'm sure Sprint could continue to become a better business and continue they have this whole time

  11. That’ll be awesome. Then at that point, they’ll need to compete on price or the things that come included with your plan outside of talk, text and data.
Also why is it that T-Mobile is the only carrier who hasn’t announced their initial 5G markets? They said they’ll have 30 in first half of 2019 but there’s no list provided. It’s just kinda odd only because they’re always vocal about things.
I think the roaming aggremeent will be enough for now.. even offering roaming within city limits is a big deal imo and it looks like it will be treated as native coverage which will improve customer experience.

  12. That MMWAve is going to require them to place small cells pretty close together just like what Verizon is doing. Sprint on the other hand honestly just needs a good sense grind along with their small cells. Their 2.5 travels far enough. From a network perspective in my eyes, Sprint would have the cleaner looking network within cities and not all these small cells every direction you turn.

I don't think that would be a problem for TMO that why 2.5 would work better on their grid .. I think Neville said that in most markets Sprint isn't even within 50% of their network grid  and said it was worse in NYC
