So yesterday I called Sprint customer service and asked if they would remove my 300mb roaming data cap since I am going to a USCC area this weekend and Sprint coverage is not good. They said I have already reached my limit and they would remove my limit if that's what I wanted. They warned me that it would be 3 cents for every kilobyte over the 300mb limit. Just returned home from my annual camping week at Lake Billy Chinook in central Oregon. Service was so much better this year than previous years. The USCC 3G EVDO worked great. I streamed Spotify on the boat until my 300 MB roaming limit was reached. To get it to work I had to set my phone to only use the 850 cell CDMA band in the hidden service menu. The phone kept finding 1x sprint service that was only good for talk and text which was an improvement from last year but still not good enough to listen to Spotify. Sprint LTE even worked great when out of the canyon. I think a single small cell with band 41 wireless backbone and Sprint could be the king of Lake Billy Chinook. Okay, I agree with your point about the buyout scenario but they better hope that buyout comes before Verizon steals all their customers. I see Verizon continuing to expand into USCC territory as they have been doing for years. I see it all over central and southern Oregon. As this continues, Verizon is going to be the new carrier in these small towns and USCC customers are likely to join Verizon for better service in the cities. The only way that USCC will be able to compete is to team up with a Sprint or a T-Mobile who has the LTE in the cities all over the country. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

I think there is commercial incentive for USCC. USCC has been losing customers to Verizon and AT&T for some time now because people want that nationwide LTE coverage. If USCC and Sprint teamed up to provide pseudo native LTE to each other, USCC customers would have no reason to switch to Verizon. They would be roaming on Sprint LTE when they go to visit their relatives in the big cities. They would have to create a contractual agreement between each other that prevents subscriber swapping but that could easily be done. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

I am not complaining, I am making a point. As I said, I am spending 45 dollars for 5gigs of data to use on a one week camping trip and that is not including the initial investment of the nexus 5 and the sim card. Sprint and USCC could team up to take my money but instead they are allowing the duopoly to rake in more cash. Sprint is the best option for me 95 percent of the year but they could very easily and cost effectively make it even better. They want that ARPU to go up and that would be an easy way to do it. If my sprint bill was 50 bucks higher for the month of camping and roaming I would be happy with it. Better than giving my 50 bucks to AT&T for that month. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

If that 100 Meg limit is still in place then all I have to say is f*** you Sprint. Either build out your coverage or allow your customers to roam. I would even be willing to pay per mb for the data roaming. He'll, I'm paying 200 dollars for a used Nexus five, 7 dollars for a straight talk sim card, and 45 dollars for 5gigs of straight talk AT&T data. USCC roaming... Oh my God I am so excited right now. I am leaving for a week of camping at a lake in central Oregon this weekend and USCC works better there than Verizon and almost as good as AT&T. I just bought a used Nexus 5 so I could throw a Straight Talk AT&T sim card in it and use it as a hot spot at the lake. Now I don't need it. Thank you Sprint and USCC! Does anyone have any update on who US Cellular is in negotiations with for an LTE roaming deal. It's seems like a year ago that the news article came out saying that Sprint and US Cellular were performing network testing. Then not too long after that article it was reported that US Cellular was in negotiations with an undisclosed national carrier for an LTE roaming deal. Also, I have observed that most US Cellular handsets that have been released since then have been identical to the sprint models with band 26 and 41. I got my battery and card yesterday. Makes me even more pleased with my decision to pass on the S6. And as for RF performance, it seems I am connected to band 41 a lot more than I was with my G2. Another great thing about this phone is the performance of the GPS radio. I use my smartphones as GPS units to navigate through the Oregon back country on my dual sport motorcycle. On my previous phones, S3 and G2, I would occasionally lose GPS signal. This last weekend I went on a 3 day ride and not once did the G4 lose GPS signal. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

I was having issues with battery life on my G4 but they were caused by apps that I had installed. I installed Greenify and the battery drain problem went away. The cool thing about the LG operating system is Greenify doesn't require root because LG gives the option to add Greenify as a system service. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
