  1. Technical Question here: Let’s say there is a new Network Vision style Sprint tower with new heads and base station. Can that be re-purposed into a T-Mobile tower via software updates to the radio heads and base station? Could the same approach be taken to add T-Mobile bands onto a Sprint site that it could transmit both Sprint and T-Mobile bands?
  2. Quite strange, but I just checked again and Rootmetrics processed all my data. Rootmetrics is working as you say. I wonder why it took 1-2 weeks to process all my tests? Very nice to see the results on the map. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Haven’t gotten Rootmetrics or OpenSignal to record my iPhone tests on the map. I guess I will just stick to to the iPhone engineering screen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What model phone do you have? US phones generally do not have two SIM slots. Most people just pick a Network and stay on it. Some of the newer phones have eSim capability which allows the use of an electronic SIM and possibly two carriers. If your phone is android and you have a removable back cover you might be able to buy a dual Sim Adapter.
  5. Interesting info about dropping to B26 before a handoff. I will give it a try with the VPN disabled.
  6. Well I am going to give up on mapping with Rootmetrics and Open Signal. I wonder if they don’t publish results when a user has a VPN or is using Sprint VoLTE. No sense wasting a bunch of time on mapping a Network if the results don’t end up on the map.
  7. I think I see some of my issues. I have Sprint VoLTE/Calling Plus enabled. A couple times Rootmetrics reported I am using Wi-Fi. I think to get proper readings I may need to disable VoLTE.
  8. If you are driving about 45 mph how do you make sure the Rootmetrics APP is Harvesting Data? Do you need to run continuous tests or just have Map View open? Also what is the average processing time for the data?
  9. I wishthere was an IOS version of Cellmapper, but I will try Rootmetrics and maybe Open Signal.
  10. Whoa! That’s good to know. Won’t waste my time mapping with Sensorly then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hello, anyone else not seeing their map results show up on the Sensorly maps? Is it because I am using the iPhone App? I keep Sensorly open and Map the same trip over and over again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Back on Sprint after a 4 year absence and am happy to see Shentel taking over Lancaster County. My local store rep said there will be 26 new towers in Lancaster County by year end. Having Tri-band sites and VoLTE really make a difference.
  13. I guess I can't argue with the map. There are some towers that are not yet upgraded. But as you drive through you will pull in LTE but depending where you stop you will lose it again. It just needs to be a bit denser and available at Walmart. Plus there's a large swath south of Route 23 that has a void of towers and barely supports 3G. It is kept alive by periphery towers.Truly there is no lack of 3G towers they are just not dense enough and need LTE. I think they would make a great candidate for SMR800. 14. I hope Ephrata and New Holland are not in the middle of nowhere. LTE out of here is more symbolic sort of like a thousand points of light / 333.I fall back to 3G all the time out here. The Ephrata Walmart is a prime example of very poor service even in the parking lot. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  15. Wouldn't mind reading some press about those guys it seems most of the data is crowdsourced Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  16. Folks are working on the tower by the Reading Airport near Route 222 and also along 222 by reamstown. What is really interesting is that they have a tall crane and a basket where the worker is hoisted up and down I have never seen that approach before. I have seen really tall man lift but never the crane and basket approach. The Reamstown tower I believe is AT&T. There are a lot of antennas on the one by reading airport so I'm not sure who the carrier is. Most likely multiple carriers. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  17. The WiFi symbol is solid like the signal bars. The WiFi Calling Symbol is the same as it was.
  18. Sorry, I don't follow Bruce Springsteen and have not heard the song.
  19. Yes, if you plan to get lost in the Yukon with your sled dogs you will want to make sure you do not update your LG G4.
  20. The new icon is causing me to think I have better data connectivity....maybe I do?
  21. Got the update today. The 3G icon is so normal and dull. Need to wait till I get LTE signal to see that icon.
  22. I am so sad. I have lost my Spinning Spark icon with the recent LG G4 update. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
