  1. The veneration of the Founding Fathers goes way overboard in this country. We have far more people with intellects equal to or exceeding those of the Founding Fathers, who lived in an entirely different world roughly three centuries ago. So, the relevance of their oft cited philosophical musings is questionable. I counter with this. Anyone who chooses liberty over security had better embody this doggerel quote: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the biggest badass in the valley." I am increasingly intrigued by the premise of "The Purge," a film released coincidentally today. In such a scenario, many of those who think themselves "badasses" would quickly get their comeuppance. But the "might makes right" principle -- while seemingly the foundation of capitalism -- does not jibe with Christian religion nor secular humanism. Thus, as much satisfaction as a "purge" scenario might provide, it would tend to run counter to why society has formed in the first place. AJ I'm watching purge in T-2 Minutes. EDIT: There are tons of Sprint advertisements at this theater/movie. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  2. I'm very familiar with Cedar Point. A good friend of mine grew up in Vermilion. Just to clarify, Sprint can broadcast 800 in the IBEZ. However, in reduced transmission power levels. They probably feel they need 800MHz in Ohio to help get people off 1900 for voice for the Motorola to Samsung dropped call problem. I don't know if you were following what happened in Chicago with all the problems of going from legacy Motorola equipment to new Samsung NV equipment. But it was a dropped call nightmare. My guess is that Sprint and Samsung are planning to move all voice activity in the Ohio Motorola markets to CDMA 800 to alleviate this problem when switching over. So for sites within the IBEZ, they may have felt they had to deploy with reduced power than to wait it out. A reduced power CDMA 800 would probably act similiar to a CDMA 1900 site at normal broadcast levels. We'll have to keep an eye on the situation and see what unfolds. I'm not aware of any new agreements, so I don't think this is the case. Robert 800MHz was 10-20dB higher indoors when compared to 1900MHz at Cedar Point. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  3. What do you mean "All 3G"? Does that mean just backhaul and 1X 800? It means all the CDMA side equipment, 1x and EVDO have been accepted as complete by Sprint. No 800 accepted yet. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta The cell site inside cedar point is pushing out SMR800 right now. I loved it. I had signal everywhere. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  5. I'm excited to be able to use on air Network Vision hardware. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  6. I believe Sandusky is part of the Cleveland market. I'm at Cedar Point right now and I'm getting eHRPD AND SMR800 CDMA. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Here in Austin, VZW voice quality is atrocious. Their codec is mega compressed. They use all 1900 here for CDMA. I'd rather someone not call me at all rather than try to have a phone conversation with them. On top of that, there is terrible lag/delay on the circuit between Sprint and VZW networks. Verizon has 800MHz here in Cleveland and it still sounds horrible, lots of people around here have a hard time getting a usable signal on Verizon because of cell spacing. It seems like there are random dead spots or areas with almost no signal. I can tell most of the time whether or not someone is on Verizon because they sound garbled. 8. I wouldn't say this area is complete, although I would agree that it's pretty damn close. If you're talking about the western part of Cleveland proper I might have to agree with you. That's the only place I've been able to pick up eHRPD in months on Sprints network in Cleveland along with 2 Mbit+ download speeds. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Sounds like Elyria near 57 :S.
  10. I've been told Nov 18th by Ericsson.
  11. That sounds like it could be somewhat right. That would be 3 months prior to launch.
  12. I was around W 59th - W 45th last night pulling 1.3mbit/s down without issues. This was at 1:30a though.
  13. It's not like they have every single cell site upgraded yet... So hold your horses. Siri doesn't work right even on wifi so shhh.
  14. I just spoke with the Ericsson guy briefly, it seems like he's either not wanting to give anything up or they haven't started inspections yet. The good thing is that we know work is being done and things are in progress, it's just a lot of waiting for it to get down the chain.
  15. I'm seeing low latency and high speeds everywhere in my city now, and it's only been getting better. I'm seeing better speeds in surrounding cities too.
  16. At this point I'm starting to think even Robert isn't getting notifications of acceptance for Cleveland. I may be wrong though. The guy I know that works for Ericsson is almost never at home and rarely comes in to the store I work at. I'm assuming Sprint inspections are keeping him extremely busy
  17. That's good news. 0.75 and above is what I see for peak times. Verizon is just as slow or slower during peak times so I'm not even complaining. Off peak times though sit at around 1.3-2.5mbit/s.
  18. I'll be sure to let you know when LTE goes live in the area.
  19. It's an LTE phone but it's only been connected to 3G since I've had it. All of those tests are on 3G.
  20. Avon is screwed for some reason. Come out to North Ridgeville and test out the new network . If you stop by Speedway on center ridge road and run a few speed tests you won't be disappointed.
  21. Route 83 at 6:28 AM in Avon.
  22. According to the FCC it's just a baseband upgrade. But because Apple can, they'll act like it's completely incompatible and different hardware so people will go and buy another iPhone. Because Apple.
  23. To be a sponsor you can give any amount. Yes, anyone can get a copy of those permits. If you could get to your building department that would be helpful because I don't have much time between work and sleep.
  24. If you get a chance drop by Parma's building department and see if you can get a list of permits for commercial antenna installations. I'll be going out to Avon's soon, I know work is being done in that city.
  25. I would give it about 2-3 months. Where are you in the Cleveland market? I'll be checking out some cell sites after work today so I'll see if there's been any progress in Downtown Cleveland. I know they've been filing quite a few permits so things should start moving along smoothly soon. Work has already started in the outside suburbs of Cleveland. Most of it is getting back haul to the tower and to the platform or building that the equipment is in. I'll report back on the status of the sites I check out today when I get home.
