  1. I just got this text too. I'm in North Ridgeville. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. GPS Coords have it in Amherst but it's very close to Lorain.
  3. A new site just went active in Amherst near Home Depot and Walmart on RT 58 (Leavitt road.).
  4. So both in progress towers are having issues right now? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Dial *#*#4636#*#* tap phone info and set the preferred network type to LTE. The LTE only mode in the settings menu doesn't work for some reason. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. Yes, west... Directly towards North Ridgeville. We only have 4 or 5 towers :/ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. I really want to mess around with band 41 LTE. I can't wait until it's actually providing internet.
  8. From what the CSR said on the phone the tower behind Aldi has 3G upgrades. From what I've seen in person that's true because fiber and cabinets are on site. I don't know why it's not reported on Robert's map though. The one on Jaycox and Mills has fiber but no cabinets. I reported both of those sites as being in progress but in progress can mean anything from fiber ran, cabinet installed, even boxes labeled Samsung being on the ground.
  9. Well, after talking to a very helpful Sprint employee for a good hour it seems just about every tower in and around North Ridgeville is scheduled to go live within 3 months. This is according to Glance. I was also told that just about every cell site in the area will have 800MHz turned on when everything else goes live.
  10. I also have the Nexus 5, I haven't gotten to test it thoroughly but it seems like it connects to LTE just fine. I'll have to drive out to a site and check out connectivity real quick.
  11. I'm guessing 12 weeks for the market to be completed. I believe someone (An Ericsson technician.) once told me that November 18th is going to be the launch date for the Cleveland market.
  12. Avon Commons is in the middle of the cell edge of 4 towers, Sprint needs to put a cell site on the water tower in that area to fill the gap. For your area specifically it could be a capacity issue. I've never really had any issues in that/your area.
  13. It's because they have the antennas tilted upward or straight out instead of towards the ground at customers for whatever reason. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  14. There's 800 CDMA in the IBEZ specifically at cedar point. I think reduced transmission power and harsh down tilt would allow for the use of 800 LTE. Although I can pick up radio from London, Ontario when the conditions are just right, so interference could definitely be created by Sprint for our Canadian friends up north.
  15. I would assume better spectral efficency along with more efficient audio codecs. Sent from my IdeaTab A2107A-F using Tapatalk 4
  16. Has anyone checked out the HackRF project? It looks like an amazing candidate for spectrum analysis. It can transmit or receive from 30MHz to 6GHz. With two units you can do full duplex TX/RX and create your own LTE base station, wireless access point, etc... SDR is pretty damn flexible. I have a RTL based TV tuner that can be used for SDR. I know it does at least 30-1700MHz and 2100MHz iirc there are several gaps for what it can and cannot receive. Sent from my IdeaTab A2107A-F using Tapatalk 4
  17. That's insane, I'd love to be able to do that.
  18. Where were you in relation to that tower?
  19. I'm only able to get eHRPD on upgraded sites in the Cleveland market. I used to get it on every site. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4
  20. Buying companies only works short term, they'll have to upgrade the hardware to meet NV specs so why not just buy space on existing towers?
  21. Would they even need new RRUs? Aren't RRUs software defined radio? I may be pulling this thought out of my ass. I was figuring that if Sprint can upgrade to LTE Advanced from LTE with a software upgrade there may be some sort of software upgrade path for LTE.
  22. I-480 Exit 13 I-77 Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  23. I also mapped it on sensorly at midnight I went to fitch and back and got quite a few speed tests.
  24. The tower on Jaycox and mills road in Avon / North Ridgeville has had more work on it in regards to backhaul. No new cabinets yet. I think legacy back haul is no longer connected to the site. It is pushing out awesome 3G speeds and low latency. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
