Got my Pixel 4 XL yesterday. Pretty sweet phone! It will not connect to my Magic Box no matter what. Tried rebooting, toggling airplane mode, reboot magic box, etc. I checked the PRL and it says "1". I updated the PRL and it still says "1". Does everyone else's phone say PRL version is 1? How about connecting to the Magic Box? Any issues? Edit: A day later and it connected to my MB but PRL still says "1"????

For our customers: Today, Sprint signed FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s Keep Americans Connected Pledge. For the next 60 days, we will support our residential and small business customers by: Not terminating service if they are unable to pay their Sprint bill because of the coronavirus, and Waiving late fees incurred because of economic circumstances related to the pandemic. Starting on Tuesday, customers with international long distance calling plans will receive complimentary international calling rates from the U.S. to countries defined by the CDC as Level 3. By next Thursday: Customers with metered data plans will receive unlimited data per month for 60 days (a minimum of two bill cycles) at no extra cost. We will provide customers with an additional 20GB of mobile hotspot data per month for 60 days (a minimum of two bill cycles) at no extra cost. Coming soon: Customers with mobile hotspot-capable handsets who don’t have mobile hotspot today will now get 20GB as well per month for 60 days (a minimum of two bill cycles) at no extra cost.

I guess that answers the question for me and for you. I want an instant internet backup solution if/when the primary internet (LAN/WiFI) connection ever drops.

Question- Does anyone know how the MB works if you have it set to Wifi but your home internet goes down for whatever reason. Power outage, general failure, etc? Does it automatically fall-back to LTE for backhaul? If so, how long does it take?

I believe this has been discussed here, but is there a way to force the MB to latch onto B25 instead of B41? Where mine is located, it latches on to a VERY weak B41 signal instead of B25. None of my phones can get B41 at this location so the signal is very, very weak. The problem with latching on to B41, I get a decent download speed from the MB (close to 20 Mbps) but upload is less than 1 Mbps. This is with 1 user. I notice that if I run a speedtest on the MB, during the upload segment, the MB will actually fall offline (lose all LTE data activity). No data throughput when connected to the MB for 2-3 minutes after/during an upload speedtest. Would the MB phone support team be able to force the MB on to B25?

WiFi toggled off. When I am upstairs, my phone can pick up proper GPS location on it's own from outside. In my very deep basement, my phone gets the GPS location solely from the Magicbox. My weather app follows me where I go (uses GPS) so I could tell immediately when the weather conditions were way off.

So I went on a short vacation and took my Magic Box with me. Now that I am back, the Magic Box (GPS location) is still reporting the City/State of my vacation spot. This is after several days and a few reboots?? Edit: The GPS location corrected on day 3.

Just a heads to those that are in an area where Magic Box isn't/wasn't available. Try again. I typed my address in the Magic Box checker page and it says it's available to use in my area now. Always said it wasn't available before (Lincoln, NE).

Does the MB Gen 2 and Gold units use the same software versions? Or does Sprint use diff versions for each box?

Thanks for the info. Man that app really rocks. Too bad it requires root grrrrrrr! FDD-TDD is supposedly live in Denver. Im gonna grab a Pix 4 when funds allow. I appreciate all your input.

Can you share some of your speedtest results on Sprint? Are you in a Samsung market? Ericsson? More importantly, is TDD-FDD enabled nationwide yet? Specifically Nebraska/West Iowa. Thanks

How exactly are you finding this out? Was it from the February Pixel update? How do you/we know when any of the combos go "live" on Sprint? Thanks for the info!

Gotcha. Thanks for posting. So, radio-wise, is the S9, S10, Note 10 better than the Pixel 4? I know there are advantages over the Pixel 1 and 2 for example.
