Has anyone checked Verizon n77 in areas with more than 100MHZ active? This spectrum has been fully available since August of last year.  Of course they are not typically using SA.

NO SA here yet but I've been pretty happy with it. If I force my phone to SA it will attempt to connect and show signal data but but it doesn't fully authenticate and allow data.

Not bad for sitting in stopped traffic at 6pm rush hour.

  2. I noticed today that T-mobile has shut of B41 LTE in the Louisville area and widened the 2nd n41 carrier to 80MHz. That just leaves them with 5x5 B12, 10x10 B2, and two 10x10 B66 carriers on LTE, everything else is in NR (besides their 2G network). They have 20x20 n71, 20x20 n25, 5x5 n25, and 180MHz n41.

  3. I noticed today while I was out and about in Louisville that b30 has been widened back to 10x10. They reduced it to 5x5 back in Sept 2018 presumably due to satellite radio interference. Not sure how long ago the change happened but it couldn't have been too terribly long ago. I noticed the different earfcn in the neighbor list, I don't usually see b30 as pcc much but I wonder if that will change now. I locked my phone to b30 only on my drive home from work and noticed the new(old?) earfcn on every site, so it wasn't just a 1 or 2 site fluke. It also looks like they've been doing some fiber or other cabling work around the b2/b46 small cell nodes, I wonder if they are about to start adding c-band radios to those.

Power down completely, not just a software restart.   Then power up and see how it goes.  Talking from years of experience with this kind of stuff. New software can give some crazy issues until you power off and do a total restart.

Should not be that way, but crap happens.

Also with big updates like this, wipe the cache partition. It helps ensure any lingering cached settings are removed.

I tried those, I ended up doing a factory reset and that cleared it up. At least with the backup and restore utilities that's not as painful as it used to be. It's mostly back up to 100% now, just a few small things I've got to reset passwords for to get fully back up and running at this point.

Download finally finished and installed. This was the Android 14 update.

Well I'm having lots of issues with my phone this morning. The phone app keeps not responding and I can't make or answer calls. Kind of an important feature for a phone, especially my work phone.

My AT&T phone is downloading a 3.3GB update very slowly. Doesn't seem to matter if on wifi or cellular it's just a trickle right now. At this rate it'll be tomorrow before it finishes.

  8. My wife and I were up in NYC for the day today. What an experience, way different than anything I'm used too but honestly it was an awesome experience. We can't wait to come back sometime when we can explore more, we had a very tight window of time in NYC today unfortunately. I had cellmapper and SCP running on both AT&T and T-Mobile today so maybe I caught something useful for you all. I was impressed with how much coverage there was in the tunnels and subway system. We came in from Edison NJ on a train and took the subway to a couple different spots around town. I think we're going to head to Philly tomorrow and see some sights before we drive back to KY on Tuesday. Hopefully we'll be back some day!

Update is out for T-Mobile Locked. As for charging, no issues here. I concur with chambs suggestion to try a different charger.

You can also try cleaning the pins with some toilet paper and some alcohol. Use a paper clip or back of a sewing needle to push it in there.

Thanks, I'll try to clean it later. I've tried different charger and different cables and still have the issue. I can tell a difference plugging in the same cable on my AT&T S22 Ultra vs my T-Mobile S22 Ultra. AT&T feels much looser.

  10. Update out tonight for my AT&T phone. Also, anyone else having issues with the USB port on an ultra? My AT&T phone will hardly charge when plugged in, not sure if the port has debris or physical damage. I've tried cleaning it the best I can and using different cables with no luck. No issues with my T-Mobile Ultra.

  11. Not sure if its update related or not but I'm unable to login and upload web data on either of my phones (I've never had it log me out since i logged in initially). I've already updated both phones so I can't test if that is the issue or not. Getting this error, diagnostics report sent as well.

  12. Looks like Verizon is doing another round of Marco expansions around Louisville. Found another new site this morning which makes 5 new sites in the past few months. The one I found this morning is badly needed in that area for coverage, I usually can only get b13 in that area currently. They must really be feeling the pressure from T-Mobile around here.

Another SCP beta is rolling out now -- should hopefully resolve the issue with the new NR NSA band display missing on some devices. To clarify, this new field will only appear if the NR frequency is identified (i.e. the app is showing "5G-NR 2500"). If the frequency is not displayed, that means it is not available.. this information is not widely reported on NSA connections yet, although it is becoming more common.

@chamb your S22 was not reporting the information at the time of your report, that is why you are not seeing it.

    Looks good to me!

Mike, I updated this morning but I'm not seeing anything new in the NSA data. Sent a diagnostics report earlier.

This work is actually almost entirely handled by ATC/CC/similar as per Dish’s agreements with them.

The leases are on the pricier side, though.

In some rural areas, you’ll even see up to 2 degrees of uptilt.

Urban/suburban areas are getting more careful treatment. With such little spectrum, keeping the noise floor low is super important to keep the MCS index as high as possible. More 45 degree antennas would be really nice…

Here I've found several Dish installs that are very low compared to the other carriers. Here's two examples, both of these suburban areas. One of these covers I-65.

Awesome, glad to hear that -- thank you for sharing, that's the first shot I've seen mmWave in the wild! What does the SCP status bar icon show? Can't make it out clearly in that screenshot.

I didn't catch it apparently. The n77 in the screenshot is for my band alert. Looks like I had too many notifications 😆.
