  1. Its not a big deal waiting either, its not like the extra capacity is needed yet anyway.
  2. And they don't have plans to upgrade those towers either..
  3. I heard from somewhere that T-Mobiles towers just require a software upgrade for lte.. I also heard those launch rumors for CES as well.
  4. Sprint is only using a small portion of the old Nextel sites, so unfortunately it is not likely they will use that tower.
  5. Seeing many Verizon towers as I drive they really don't have room to add extra antennas let alone RRU's for AWS. Guess thats where creativity comes in.
  6. Has anyone tested out metro PCS voLTE? Just curious because their 1x coverage is spotty to began with, I can imagine calls would switch down to 1x alot (if even Possible) due to LTE being signal strengh dependent.
  7. That may be because of wimax having a higher ping time than your dsl.
  8. I know there is a sprint and att rollout thread so I thought id start one with verizon and sprint. My main question is what is the difference between lte release 8 and 9, and was the reasoning for Verizon using release 8 to roll out lte earlier and faster?
  9. It would be interesting to see the numbers for the detroit area.
  10. I know this forum isn't for at&t but based on what you are saying, at&t must be planning on using pcs along with 700 to deploy lte?
  11. So lets say Sprint aquires the 1900 mhz H block. All the devices today can support that already?
  12. Apparently at&t has a plan for lte advanced middle of next year..... those 100 mbps speeds may be hard to pass up.
  13. I realized this the first time I made the visit. (I was kicked out) I made sure i brought my breifcase to hide the boxes on my way out.
  14. All this arguing is giving me a headache ???? (Posted using my iPhone while offloaded to wifi at Golden Corral) excuse me while I pig out out the Buffett and then use the carry out boxes I brought from home to stock my fridge. It's okay though because since I paid the 10$ I'm entitled to it.
  15. What types of backhaul is Sprint using at its NV towers?
  16. Not offloading to wifi whenever possible not only degrades the speed and quality for everyone else, but is also unethical. I can see using lte at home when you don't have wifi, but if you do there is no reason not to. Unlimited data may be unlimited, but the spectrum it runs on is far from it. A few people streaming Netflix can ruin the experience for everyone else.
  17. Big cities have more towers that cover less area (sometimes only a few blocks), while suburbs have cell towers that can cover a few miles, therefore making it easi and quicker to deploy in the suburbs. Thats my theory anyway.
  18. Just the other day, Sprint announced that austin tx, along with 100 other markets will have lte released before the end of 2012. With lte, you should get blazing fast speeds (anywhere from 5-30mbps down) compared to what you were experiencing on the iPhone 4s. Once Austin is done, the 3g network will be upgraded too and with sprints advanced 3g you should be getting speeds between 1-2 mbps. If you want my opinion, save money and switch to sprint. The network may not be perfect right when its launched, but it will progressively get better and for unlimited data, and the price, you can't beat it. -Ryan
