  1. My GS5 seems to be sucking electrons out of the battery faster than ever since I updated. Anyone else seeing shorter battery life?
  2. How about if people post on-topic, instead of wandering off into other content (such as TMo). Then the name would still make sense.
  3. ^^^^^ What he said. Example, also anecdotal: The day before yesterday (Sunday) I drove from Crystal Lake, IL, through Bartlett, IL, to downtown Chicago and back (about 120 miles round trip) on Sprint and never lost LTE, except briefly deep inside a restaurant virtually under the Lake Street El structure (and airplane mode instantly restored LTE). I was even getting 9.6 Mbps down and 11.3 Mbps up inside the Cadillac Palace Theater. I have used Sprint in Chicagoland for over 15 years and (except for a few weeks during the NV switchover) have had an acceptable experience with whatever technologies were current almost the entire time. Even while traveling (and I travel over much of the US), my experience has been mostly acceptable, often excellent.
  4. Louis Maximus: Cut the crap. Your incessant trolling for Magenta is a major pain in the ass. You insert it into virtually every topic you enter. Your quoted comment above adds absolutely nothing to the topic being discussed, but then that is a very common thread which weaves through the vast majority of your posts at S4GRU. I frankly don't give a #### how much you like TMo. I am here to increase my knowledge about Sprint, not to listen to babbling idiots spout the same irrelevant complaints over and over and over again. Go away.
  5. Once they have started shooting, 4 Star Casting will likely post links,
  6. My daughter and a colleague will be in St. Louis tomorrow scouting locations. Seriously, folks, free food and beer! Free. Food. Beer. Sign up at 4 Star Casting. https://www.facebook.com/4starcastingSTL Free. Food. Beer. 'Nuff said.
  7. Totally off-topic, but related to food, which actually is sometimes on-topic: If you are interested in appearing as an extra in a cable network "hamburger taste-off" being taped in St. Louis, please see the Facebook page for "4 Star Casting". No pay, but free food and beer and an opportunity to appear on camera. (The free food and beer part appeals to me!) (Full disclosure: My daughter works for the casting company. This is a legitimate call, not a scam. Sorry, Robert, no fried chicken.) Tell your hungry and thirsty St. Louis friends, 4 Star needs lots of participants. Free food and beer. (Did I mention free food and beer?)
  8. SoonTM (Even though I violently oppose your purported "trademark", I just couldn't resist!!!)
  9. Please post at least some description of the link's topic, first because the link is usually truncated on-screen, and second, so readers have some idea of what they may be linking to. Something like "Sprint's 800 MHz LTE plans get boost after senators urge State Dept. to pressure Mexico on rebanding". Thanks.
  10. Sprint? Chicago? Oh, THAT'S the thread we're in! Now I remember!
  11. 1. (Answered above) 2. Anecdotal evidence: My daughter and I drove from Crystal Lake past Elgin, and into the city this past Saturday. I was on LTE the entire trip, mostly on Band 41. I never dropped to 3G. I spent several hours deep in the basement of the Apollo Theater on north Lincoln Avenue, and had various flavors of LTE the whole time (all 3 bands). My daughter commutes from Crystal Lake to Naperville, has LTE all the way every day. 3. I can't give specific speeds everywhere, but I see anywhere from 2+ to 30 Mbps wherever I go. I would like to see wider implementation of B41, especially in the far Northwest, but from Gilberts all the way into the City, you should get good connections and speeds. At this time, I would expect TMo to be faster than Sprint in many areas of Chicagoland (although I don't have TMo, and am basing that opinion primarily on postings in this forum and in T4GRU), but Sprint has far more spectrum here, and will likely overtake TMo even in those areas in the near future.
  12. Wait till you get really old -- Not only will you realize how much you don't know, but you will start forgetting the small amount that you actually do know, until you reach the point where . . . where . . . Drat, what was I saying???
  13. My daughter (GS5) and her boyfriend (5c) are going to the U.K. in August -- it will be interesting to see how well the international features work by then. (They will, of course, also buy a couple of throwaway phones while they are there). Out of curiosity, has anyone here at S4GRU actually used Sprint's International WiFi calling? I would be very interested in your experience.
  14. (For those who don't know, Marcelo's tweet expresses condolences for Andy Butler, a Sprint employee who was one of seven people killed early Tuesday morning when their plane crashed near the Bloomington, IL, airport while returning home from the NCAA Championship game. A sad event.)
  15. This thread has become tedious, repetitious, and at least to me increasingly annoying. Ok, there are Sprint fanatics who don't like T-Mobile. And there are T-Mobile fanatics who don't like Sprint. For some people, T-Mobile is good. For some people T-Mobile is terrible. For some people, Sprint is good. For some people, Sprint is terrible. I get it. It is no longer interesting. Some people think Legere walks on water, Some people think Legere is the world's biggest putz. Some people think Marcelo walks on water. Some people think Marcelo is the world's biggest putz. I get that too. It is no longer interesting. As the thread deteriorates into semi-mindless name calling, let's just stop the crap. If someone has legitimate criticisms (or legitimate praise) for TMo, that's fine. But, quite frankly, threads with similar vitriol that have "Sprint" in the title have been shut down completely. I am not a staff member nor am I especially empowered in any way, but I think that I may speak for other Forum denizens who feel that either this thread should get back to the more technical aspects of T-Mobile, or should simply end. My 2 cents worth.
  16. Sorry to be late to the party, but my eyeballs are still in shock from waking up to the new color scheme ! Happy Day, Robert!!!
  17. I am visiting family near Philadelphia, and had just bought 2 in-laws shiny new Sprint iPhones. Naturally, tonight, to teach them how to use the new phones, I tried calling my and my wife's phones, which are provisioned in area 815. Total failure. We could call them FROM our phones, but they could not call us. All 4 phones were in the same room. Oh, crud, I am thinking, I just made a huge $900 flub. Bad words were said. I tried reloading PRLs, rebooting, calling Sprint (got a recording saying there was a known issue), etc., etc. Then, magically, they began calling perfectly. Then, I started seeing posts about the outage. My in-laws now question my sanity. [Well, so do I, but that belongs in another thread.]
  18. It was a tiny earthquake nowhere near any Sprint infrastructure.
  19. Also, there is a major reported Sprint outage in the Midwest where my phones call home, and I wonder if this has somehow affected trying to call them?? Very strange. (Plus, my house is about a mile from the newly reported Lake in the Hills Earthquake - Is the Apocalypse upon us???) (Edit: It was a tiny earthquake.)
  20. Didn't know you could do this on iPhone (I'm an Android kinda guy) - I'll give it a try. Thx.
  21. Hello, Philadelphia!! I am visiting relatives in Downington, and yesterday added my mother-in-law & sister-in-law to my Sprint plan with shiny new iPhone 6's, and we are having trouble calling out with them. (Data & text seem ok.) My GS5 and my wife's iPhone 5c seem to be working fine, but our phones are from the Midwest, so may be provisioned differently. Sprint Care has a recorded message mumbling something about known issues. Does anyone here have any insight?? Is there really a problem going on? Thanks.
  22. Just a quick kudo: The Thursday beta removed 1,253 Null GCIs from my log, and appears to have worked flawlessly all the way from Chicago to Philly by car. Mike, if we could just fix your sports affiliations, you'd be a great guy!
  23. I actually rented one for 2 weeks in Washington & Idaho about 1980 (OK, so I'm old). It got about over 20 mpg, had an amazing and powerful engine, and those "Coreenthian" leather seats were outrageously comfortable. It was a boat, but definitely a luxury liner. [Topic? What topic? Was there a topic here???]
