  1. Seems like a logical progression. In addition to email, Greenlight Hubs and, more recently, telephone, Uber has been providing Uber driver support at various Sprint stores ("Sprint Spot"). https://www.uber.com/drive/miami/contact/
  2. Got my Magic Box yesterday. On my last test I got a ping of 45 ms, download 12.77 Mbps, and upload 1.25 Mbps. No time to try other windows because I'm trying to get ready for Hurricane Irma.
  3. Bought two from Sprint for my wife and me. Great deal, great phone.

    LG V30

Sorry. Actually, yes, the V30 wasn't impressive enough -- for our purposes. Seems that we are very rough on phone batteries. My first and only phone with a non-removable battery -- the Motorola Photon Q -- eventually died because its battery swelled, tearing the phone apart. Eventually that also happened to my wife's Photon. So, the Photons were replaced with Samsung S5s. The S5s did worse than the Photons by giving us multiple swollen batteries. However, thanks to their user-replaceability, we handled that. In comparison, our LG G5s have been great. Replaced a couple of batteries but the swelling was barely noticeable; only very slight distortion on the glass gave us a clue that it was happening. We like the features on the LG V-series. Had the V30 surprised us with a removable battery, or even a non-removable newer-design solid state lithium battery, we would have chosen it over the V20.

    LG V30

After watching LG's presentation of their new V30, my wife and I ordered a pair of V20s at $270 each from Sprint.
  6. They said I would be getting one. They confirmed my shipping address and some other things about my account, and said I would receive an email when it ships.
  7. Signed up for the Magic Box on July 18th, and got the phone call this week.
  8. One would think that the S5, being OLED, would be the one with burn-in issues.
  9. A system update was pushed to my G5. "Installing system update..." Update done. Still Android 6.01 but saw this: Android Security patch level 2016-07-01
  10. My wife and I bought our G5's in April and keep them in Speck cases. We have had no issues.
  11. This morning, my speed test shows a better-than-average-for-my-area result: a ping of 38 ms, a download of 3.52 Mbps and an upload of 1.04 Mbps. Clearly, this is a bigger issue than CAx2 vs. CAx3. I'll trade CAx3 for a removeable battery.
  12. I had not either. As I am an infrequent visitor, I doubt that it would have helped me all that much. FWIW, I am thankful for this thread, as it enabled me to quickly find the schedule for Miami.
  13. I believe you. I just feel better taking my time and using a secure connection when submitting private info like my phone #.
  14. In case someone cares, I changed the http to https and the link still works and appears secure, but I haven't submitted anything yet.
  15. Good questions; I have no idea. Let's hope that someone in-the-know will explain for us mortals. Otherwise, we'll have to settle for contemplating this B26 from the 1940's:
  16. Miami-Dade police is having problems with their new radios and say they will return to their analog system next week. For the sake of Band 26, I hope the issues get resolved soon. More at http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/05/14/4117628/problems-force-miami-dade-police.html
  17. Spark is making a nice difference in South Florida. For example, I just returned from Big Dawgs 2 in Davie, where just a few weeks ago, data connections were near useless. This time I got LTE on band 41 indoors, with an Ookla test showing a ping of 49 ms, 48.66 Mbps download and 2.84 Mbps upload. Glad I stuck it out.
  18. Love this phone. Here in South Florida, at least in the spots where I've been, it has had no problems dealing with LTE bands 25 and 41, as well as 3G. Voice has been rock solid. Great upgrade from a Photon Q.
  19. There may be a network issue in some areas... Here in Miami, my S5 has no hand-off problems.
  20. I agree and wouldn't be surprised if this "policy" doesn't last through the end of the day. I did post the store's address & phone for a reason...
  21. Could be that my wife got a rogue salesperson, and the manager has no idea. I did work in sales for quite a while, right alongside many psychos.
  22. Frankly, we're not desperate... we may or may not drop by, depending on how she feels. But whatever happens, at least this is not Orlando, lol. No offense.
  23. Yup, no joke, and I never had an experience like this either. But, never before had we thought to buy phones on the day of release. Could just be a greedy store manager borrowing a page from the Sleazy Car Dealer Handbook. Thing is, we purposely picked a corporate store in the hope of avoiding such shenanigans.
  24. My wife and I decided that S5s will be our next phones. This morning, she, being more impatient than I, phoned the Sprint Store at 12540 SW 120th St, Miami, FL 33186, (305) 232-8362. She was told that yes, they have them in stock in white and black, but... they won't sell them unless we buy at least $60 worth of accessories per phone. Brilliant. Whoever thought that one up should have been the one to replace Letterman. She and I are now of like minds. We will keep our trusty Photon Qs for a bit longer. Meanwhile, we'll entertain ourselves with stories from S5 early adopters.
  25. Depending on where you go, T-Mobile may be worse. For example, my wife works in an office building near Coral Way and 12th Ave. Her IT guy has tried to convert her to the Note 3 and T-Mobile. She stopped listening when she learned that he rarely gets a signal inside the building, while she gets reliable voice and LTE with Sprint. FWIW, she gave up on WiFi at work -- most of her coworkers, maybe in an effort to stay within their data plans, or they use T-Mobile, hog the WiFi, rendering it nearly useless. Her phone is nothing magical -- just a Motorola Photon Q.
