  1. Nobody seems to be getting the gist of what I'm saying. What I'm suggesting is that sprint move everyone on THEIR network to devices capable of using ALL PARTS of their network. 1x devices can access 1xA networks, they just can't access the benefits that 1xA brings. If sprint moves their full network to 1x advanced and puts all of their customers on 1x advanced for voice, the networks capacity will increase tremendously because 99% of usage of the sprint network is by sprint customers, not roaming partners' customers (don't quote me on my numbers that was an estimate to deliver my point). 1x aside, the other point I was trying to make is that sprint should get everyone on their network a device with LTE. Yes 3G cannot be fully shut down because of roaming agreements etc. but it would be great if sprint could thin PCS EVDO down to 1 carrier favoring LTE for data connection (and possibly voice in the future).
  2. From what I've read, all of the cities I have travelled to are ones where LTE 800 has been optimized which may explain my ignorance regarding the issue. I hope they get it right when they turn B26 on in Seattle! Right now devices are spread across B25 and B41 seamlessly and efficiently in Seattle. I hope when Sprint rolls out B26, band selection will proceed to stay smooth and seamless as it is now.
  3. I'm not suggesting a removal of CDMA on the network side by any means. Just a removal of devices that can't access 1x Advanced and/or LTE. This will make the future a lot easier for sprint in terms of moving towards an all LTE (with possibly a bit of 1x Advanced) network. Plus having all 1x Advanced devices will allow sprint to better harness the benefits of 1x Advanced today.
  4. While sprint is replacing devices that cannot update their PRLs, I think they should also sunset 3G only and non 1xA devices. Maybe they are quietly doing so?
  5. Still a hell of a lot faster than edge of cell 3G in Seattle. That speed is fine for web browsing and the ping is great. At -100 3G in Seattle, pings generally exceed a second or two and speeds struggle to exceed 10kbps.
  6. I noticed today that https://www.sprint.com/popups/pop-gprsCarriers.html now reports pretty much every international carrier as an Open World partner while Global Roaming seems to have stopped growing. First: is this an error? And second: is this a sign sprint is planning to discontinue global roaming or stop expanding it?
  7. CA will not happen in B25 - at least in the forseeable future.
  8. Don't worry - no offense taken. Totaly agree with you as well - people don't realize the number issues that only sprint has had to deal with. Tmo already had fiber in place for HSPA - they just needed to send crews out to change out RRUs and antennas. Sprint has had tons of backhaul issues some of which still haven't been resolved. WiMAX also totally screwed sprint over - they built out a whole network, took it down and put up a totally separate network in a similar time frame time other carriers built out their LTE networks in. The delay of the WiMAX shutdown also hurt sprint. They probably caused data speeds to take a hit in the 1H16 rootmetrics report. These are all issues no one else had to face - AND sprint has been extremely short on money the whole time. Since pretty much all of these issues have been resolved - at least for the most part - I think sprint will start to progress very quickly in the coming months. Same goes for tmo - they will soon be going back to add B4 and B2 to their B12 only rural builds and as 4x4 MIMO phones start to trickle in, their speeds will rise. There is a lot of growth potential for both and I'm sure we will start to see that more and more in the next few months.
  9. Never suggested mine was. Just gave a counter example to his experience. Totally agree with you as well. Growth and improvement are everything.
  10. My family was here from India last week so I picked up a prepaid tmo SIM and they were complaining about the speeds a lot up here in Seattle. Keep in mind they come from India and they had never even heard of LTE (they have Vodafone back in India and they've only got WCDMA if I remember correctly). Not to mention tmo phones usually sit on edge at my house if not no service. Your experience is not an accurate reflection of full network performance.
  11. I have an iPhone 6S with Sprint 24.1 and PRL 54054 (I know PRL doesn't really matter) and my phone holds onto LTE great. Holds B41 down to ~-125 and holds on to weak B25 very well. It will often sit on -116 to -120. I don't have 800 in my market. Maybe take your iPhone to the Apple Store. I quite frankly have been floored by the iPhone 6S's RF (at least compared to the other iPhones).
  12. It's not a big problem. Some service is better than no service. It's been live for a long time now and I'm sure if they wanted to remove it they would have a while ago.
  13. Yea my home is pretty much a dead spot for everyone. ATT is the only other working carrier but they aren't ahead of "No Service" by much (-114 to -118 B17 LTE that usually doesn't work). The Clearwire tower is on one of those big power lines and is <1/4 mile from me. All of the other carriers have towers within 3/4 mile or so of my house but there are so many trees that all signal is destroyed.
  14. Yea pretty much - usually it goes to no service when I disable LTE. Sometimes I get a bar on Sprint or Verizon 1x if I'm lucky but it's so weak that there's no chance I'd be able to make a call.
  15. Here is an example of that occurrence - my house. -102 to -118 B41 from a Clearwire conversion but no 3G or 1x at all. Texts send over LTE and data works great but incoming calls go straight to voicemail and outgoing calls fail.
  16. Telus MiKE has no effect on the situation in Arizona, only the situation in western Washington.
  17. Good. 4 cities down 2 to go (Kalispell and Butte are still dark).
  18. LTE roaming would help with with edge of cell ping as well as unthrottled data (open world/global roaming with high speed pass).
  19. That's what I thought but AJ made it seem otherwise...
  20. How's this: Does sprint offer international LTE roaming?
  21. I would hope they set aside as little as possible for debt and improve the network NOW so they can pick up more customers, increase revenues and profits and maybe have less problems with money to pay debt in the future.
