  1. my preorder shipped. fedex says expected delivery on monday. im trading in my s21u for the s23u though samsung and i got the unlocked.
although the carrier deals are enticing, they are giving it through 2 year credits. I dont like to be tied down to the phone like that.

my other lines are waiting until after the phone release for better trade in value for their s22u s.
thats how we never pay full retail price of the phone but that means each person have to use money every year to get a new phone. lol

  2. I am also waiting for a better trade-in deal for my s22u after the release date. The preorder trade-in credit is less this year than last year.

  3. something felt very weird about the s22u ..2AVF1 update.

    my wireless charging stopped working.
i tried the diagnotic thingy in the settings but the phone didnt detect the charger.
my samsung account wouldnt work with any of its apps.
and then my wifi calling wasnt working.

so i figured to turn off my esim. and turn it back on.
my wifi calling came back. and samsung account started working again.
but wireless charging still didnt work.

first, i thought my wireless charging thing in the phone was fried.
so i finally gave up and backed up my phone with smart switch.

manually reflashed the previous firmware (..2AVE4).
I thought since the bootloader is the same the phone would boot up without an issue.
    but nope.
so i had to factory reset.

now everything is back to normal.
esim and wifi calling is normal.
wireless charging is back to normal. (thank god its not shorted or w.e)

might wait until the next stable update or stay so i can use the band selection app lol

    July security update?

yup, i manually updated through computer.

hate that I cant use samsung band selection anymore. It forced the bands better than the dialer code way.
but I rather have the security updates anyway.

Unless you take special steps, the update to force itself upon your phone.

yup, i dont worry. I have another s21u lying around with its bootloader still on #1. (and updates disabled)
Im keeping that s21 ultra to unlock its bootloader later. hehe

  6. on the s22 ultra unlocked(U1) firmware. (..2AVF1)
the band selection menu is gone as stated by others.

I noticed that the wifi calling is gone also.
I cant make calls over wifi when there is no cell service or when I force it on wifi calling.

Ive seen s21 ultra users having similar issues on the new update, so I didnt update my s21u.
I wish i didnt for my s22 ultra also

Well I looked over my plan...and my ED1500 is still better? Ive got 50GB hotspot, high speed internet in all of Latin America (1GB), free hulu, and the price is about the same?

the magenta max is similar to the ed 1500. but the only problem with ed1500 is that you will not get 5g sa because of sprint sim. (that is if you have a 5g phone or will get a 5g phone in the near future)
you should switch to the magenta max.

for me, the the new magenta max is great but its one short of our ed1500. I have the option to buy new phones with 2 year contract pricing. With taxes and fees, I have preordered the 512gb s21 ultra for $971. no trade in or anything.
full retail price is $1379 and with nyc sales tax it comes out to about $1500).

we buy phones every year. one line's contract ended this year, next year the other line's contract ends, and etc.

  8. with a little search, i found the answer to my own question...lol. my fault for not reading the past posts.

maybe ill do more testing with my mocn line and compare it to the roamahome lines.

since mocn is temporary, how would they change the mocn and roamahome later?

by forcing a tmobile sim or just firmware update to use 310260 plmn?

maybe by that time, all sprint users will change to tmobiles own plans? 😕

my situation is just a little bit diff. since its not a personal account.

but when the time comes i bet that tmobile wont care to honor the same features. they prolly will say to take their magenta 'business' plan or not. realistically speaking.

i will cry when i have to lose my ed plan..lol esp with subsidized phone pricing...

boohoo i know. i know. im such a baby haha

  9. I have switched one of my lines from roamahome to multocn.
That line connects to sprint plmn as main (312530).
When i force roam to tmobile bands, the phone(s20 ultra) switches the plmn to 311490 and not 310260.

my line which is roamahome uses 310260 in tmobile bands.
When forcing sprint bands, the phone(s21 ultra) uses sprint 312530.

I am gonna try to see about mocn. The tech support says that multocn is mocn.
but isnt mocn multocn in short? so multocn =mocn?

Same thing I am weighing in my mind. I’m on the same everything data plan. First off it’s bs that they are throttling our video once tnx’d. This needs to be fought. Once TNX is mandatory I will be fighting it.

If that goes no where I will likely eventually TNX and use a vpn to avoid the throttle. The plan feature to cost just isn’t comparable currently. Even paying for a vpn would be cheaper to stay on everything data.

yea its bs. ive escalated a ticket about the tnx and our plan. it wont go anywhere but its need to be done. i rather have no throttling than xxGB of hotspot, also.

i havent tried the vpn. does it work well? and hows the latency?

  11. i was on tnx for a very short time because i couldnt handle the streaming. in the future, 5g sa will be widespread but for now nsa is good enough for me... i did love 5g sa when on tnx but my problem is that video streaming is capped.

my streaming on my ed1500 is uncapped.
i have youtube tv and when i need to watch it on the go, it just sucks on tnx. unusable.

i went back on my sprint sim that has 312530 as hplmn.
i didnt see any 312250 whenever i checked the servicemode. when i force b41. it uses the 312530.
tmobile sites come up as 310260.

whats the experiences on multocn and mocn so far, esp streaming?

The fine print actually gave Sprint the ability to throttle those legacy plans. People kept saying there was also no deprioritization, but the wording was there to implement one at any given moment.

Ever since Sprint got rid of 2 year upgrade options, that plan has not been worth it. Anyone still holding on to that plan is just throwing money away. T-Mobile will likely not honor something that was never promised. They've done this in the past when they changed the unlimited roaming in Mexico and Canada to 5 GB.

If you still have that plan, I recommend dumping it.

I still have the ed1500 under a corporate-liable account. I still get the 2 year subsidy for all my lines.
I am keeping this plan forever until they kick us out of it lol.

I shouldnt be throttled or be deprioritized but it is happening on two of my tnx lines.
I am probably gonna try to talk to both sprint ant tmobile about this.

if anyone in a similar situation as me, lets figure this out

Right, it's widely known that SA doesn't work unless you have TNX. But you seemed to indicate that you had information on NR CA capabilities on TNA. We don't know whether the two are related; I don't think there's anything stopping T_Mobile from running B66+n71+n41 or B2+n71+n41 with 2 or 66 as the PCC (so, NSA).

i dont have any official confirmation or any sources about it. but on the tmobile site, it says that sprint users cannot access SA 5G

    https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/latest-sim-for-great-network-experience

like you said, tmobile mayy do nsa ca but i doubt tmobile will want sprint users or roamers using their 5g with nr ca.

i will def check it out when i get my s21 ultra. ill check with both sprint and tmobile sims.

my posts are based on my anecdotal experiences. didnt mean to have you think i have straight facts.

but someone i know has the lg velvet 5g. he can do nr ca only with tmobile sim. (tmo version with dimensity 1000c). he only could get 5g nsa with the sprint sim and no nr ca but lte ca with nsa.

  15. 4 hours ago, iansltx said:

Do you have official confirmation that NR CA won't work on Sprint? I was on a call yesterday where I asked this question and was given the opposite answer, though I'm not certain the rep knew what He was talking about.

i dont know about nr ca entirely.

but from what i can tell when using my s20 ultra with sprint sim, i was never able to connect to a standalone 5g.

For those who currently have a 4G phone looking to buy an unlocked S21 directly from Samsung, if you order a sim card from Sprint via chat, will they send a TNX sim card by default?  Or is there a non-TNX sim card available that would use Sprint as the primary network in non-5G areas where it would use Sprint 4G instead of T-Mobile 4G?

i do not know about ordering from samsung directly or through sprint via chat...sorry

I got my TNX card for my s20 ultra at a tmobile store. its free.

whichever sim you use, thats the primary network you would be using for 2g3g4g5g etc lol

you just use the sprint sim to use sprint as primary but 5g will be only NSA. also you wont be able to take advantage of the new Qualcomm X60 modem. you could do ca with 5g SA in tmobiles network.

In my order, it also says something about "TNXSETUPZZZ-TNX Collateral".

    Anybody know what that is?

    Also, 128GB S21 here.

its the tnx tmobile sim card.

itll let you use tmobile as primary network.

you will be able to use tmobiles sa 5g.

  18. As I mentioned previously, if your device is not moving and the signal is stable, newer versions of Android will not update the signal strength as frequently in order to conserve power usage. The latest app update moved the target API to Android 10, which implements this behavior stronger than previous versions. Next time you are moving around at a faster speed and longer distance (car, bus, train, etc), see if the updates are more frequent. I often have to hop in my car and drive around to test, because sitting at my house the updates are as infrequent as you describe -- it's just how Android behaves now.

    kk
yeah, i figured newer android versions esp 10 are limiting some app aspects. ill test out different senarios.

you did make an app to make our lives easier,
    and im thankful.
also, thank you for your time and responses.
