  1. Just looking at shear number of towers, I always thought that finishing Madison first just made sense because we only have a handful of towers compared to Milwaukee.  From a marketing stand point, you could say you launched a major city in Wisconsin.

I'm fairly certain Milwaukee will happen just like Madison.  It was easier for me to get those few Madison towers pictured and put on the in progress thread. That gave us a potential clue as to when we'd start to see acceptances, then they fell like dominoes.  It'll be that way in Milwaukee too.  No doubt.  If you start to see 1x800 popping up in new places, then your time is near.  We're practically all 1x800 here save for a few towers.

We also have Mangurt tweeting daily about the atrocious service here.....so perhaps they just wanted to shut him up? :)

sometimes the squeaky wheel gets oiled.

  2. Those screenshots indicate that you're connect to the Prairie St Tower, which is not in Verona, its up off Maple Grove.  I had very spotty connection to the Verona tower when I was down there yesterday.  I did get some mapped LTE but it was from my Fitchburg Tower.  On my drive in, Monroe street is still a mess, hardly any signal there, no LTE for sure, but appears to be improved eHRPD strength. I think once the West Wash towers are live, things should be better.  Still spotty downtown Madison proper.

I did pull 16.53 down and 9.47 up right outside Camp Randall from the University Ave tower.

One of the screen shots was from Dairy Lane in Verona.  I will be out there this afternoon, and I will see if I get some LTE.

  3. I still have the 800 signal on the west side.  I did not have enough coffee in me this morning remember to turn on my GPS while I was trying to map via sensorly.  Won't make that mistake again.  I have to head to Platteville this afternoon, so not much mapping will be coming from me until I get back into the Mt. Horeb area.  But I will be checking out Verona to see if there's anything there.

  4. Finally had to turn my notifications for Singalcheck Off.  Bouncing around 1x800 like mad, and the alert was getting a little annoying......  Anyone else seeing this at their Madison place of business?  How about the Tokay tower Mangurt?  Anyone getting anymore LTE hits?

I'll be heading down to State Street in about an hour, so I'll see what's up down there.

    Mark,

I'm not in Madison today.  I can look tomorrow.  I'm in Verona right now, and I'm not seeing anything different from little to no signal here.

  5. This is what I'm grabbing from the park bank tower, not seen LTE though...would i be seeing 1x800 if that tower wasn't upgraded yet? 9wrcDcH.png

I'm wondering if you are getting the 800 from the Sun Prairie tower.  I got nothing this morning on my commute into Madison.  I actually lost signal on 151 south in that area.  I don't know how the whole tower ID # works though...so it might be the park bank tower...who knows

  6. Well well well, look at what I grabbed. I am on the west side of Madison in the research park area.

Another call, this time it was Tech support calling me back.  According to that representative, all towers in the Madison area are in the upgrade status (which we know).  She said that the ticket she was looking at was scheduled to be completed in Feb of 2014.  I hope it will be faster than that.....

  7. I had to call Sprint today because I was not getting any signal at work.  The person I talked to said that they are in the process of testing the towers in the Milwaukee area, and that everything should be done by the end of the year.  It took a bit to get that information out of the rep (basically she wanted me to do the network update, update PRL, ect) but when I said that I've done that a number of times, she went into my account and saw that the network vision is being completed in the area.  I take that with a grain of salt, but if the reps are finally saying that outright, it might be actually coming true....

  8. Testing much?

From in my house, picking up the further Fitchburg tower 1x800. The base ID is right on, address wise. That tower is quite a bit away with a few hills between us. That's exciting!

EDIT: something is afoot with that tower. I was picking up 1x800 from the Irish Ln Fitchburg tower all the way downtown next to Camp Randall (approx 8 miles). Signal was very weak and it bounced in and out.  Anyone else on the south side of Madison seeing connection with that?  If you cycle airplane mode or update PRL?

I got 1x800 reading in Sun Prairie, but looking at the tower information from singal pro, it said that the tower was in waterloo.  I was in the parking lot of Woodman's when I saw this.

  9. Madison folks, I checked out the tower on the near West of the Capitol. It's on a big building, very difficult to get an angle to see up there. Best shot would be from the Capitol observation desk onto that roof. If anyone was thinking of visiting the Capitol this weekend please let me know, let's try to get that shot! Otherwise, I can't tell from the ground. There's one fat newer looking antenna but it could be any carrier's antenna for all we know.

It's probably pointless at this stage, there are only 2-3 towers left without NV equipment and we're not going to get acceptances for a while most likely, but I like to complete projects! And it's sort of an obsession.....I'd like to think once were 100% on visible equipment, then we'll start to see acceptances.

I am all for complete projects, but I would hope that Sprint would also look at the horrible coverage in Madison and start turning on the sites that are complete.  I know, it's a dream, but it would be nice to be able to use my phone outside of my house.....

  10. First of all, thank you Robert for clearing things up!  Now, onto the pictures!  Well, that makes sense why there's NO signal when I drove in this morning.  I was on East Washington last night (coming from and going to MATC) and I was roaming the entire time.  Someone mentioned that it's the hardware push getting things finished up before they techs break out the ice fishing gear....lets hope that' the case......
