  1. Band 2 5x5 is standard across the city. And usually you can find CA with either band 12 5x5 or band 71 10x10. I dont know if band 71 has always been 10x10 or if its because of that leasing deal with dish. I just got back 2 days ago so I haven't been able to test the network before the lease with dish. The coverage is actually very decent. My job has me driving all over the city all day and I always have a strong signal. The speed is just awful. Its encouraging that the signal is good because all they need now is some more bandwidth/capacity and they'll be good to go.
  2. Ya merging the two would definitely be the best case scenario. I've only been back in sioux falls for a short while so I haven't had a chance to see how tmobile holds up anywhere else in the state but I'm glad to hear that it's at least better outside of sioux falls. And not to get off the topic of this thread but what options have been talked about with shentel. I know when the merger was announced, I saw an article that said shentel would either continue with the original deal they had with sprint or allow tmobile to buy them.
  3. So does anyone know what's gonna happen with swiftel now that the merger got approved. I have tmobile and the service is awful in sioux falls. Will swiftel continue to broadcast signal under the tmobile name or will tmobile take them over.
  4. This will still help boost speeds for all devices right. Since phones that can utilize it will be getting there tasks done more efficiently and they won't be using network resources for as long. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  5. One big problem with this is that binge on is essentially required. If you want HD you need to pay another 25 dollars. Also they dropped the tethering option to 2g only. It seemed exciting at first but once you read the details it starts to sound not so much like an un-carrier plan Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  6. Tmobile just announced they bought 700 spectrum in chicago. Good news for anyone living in there. (i tagged you arysyn since you live there and are always talking about there spectrum) Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  7. Ya if att is solid in your area than the cricket plan is for sure a great deal. Especially in those slow tmobile markets. I'm in a 20x20 market and I almost never have any problems with speed. However I've rolled through some cities that aren't as fortunate spectrum wise and the speeds can get pretty nasty. Besides 8mbps can do just about anything so I see no problem with that. 8. If you want to compare apples to apples, metro pcs, which is tmobiles prepaid brand just as cricket is to att, has an unlimited plan with no throttle for 60 dollars. I believe there is the depriorization though at 22gb. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  9. I was in a moving car and had to zoom in. I won't be around there again for a couple weeks but when I go back I'll be ready to take better pics. And I would do the SCP thing except I am on tmobile. I saw the small cells though and got very excited as I would love to see Sprint excel here. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  10. For anyone in Atlanta wondering about the progress of NGN I have some good news. I spotted some small cells all around the buckhead area tonight. One of them I am positive is Sprint (I'm pretty sure although I couldn't get a pic of it) the other 3 looked like the picture below. If anyone knows who's small cell it is in the pic then please speak up. If these all really are Sprint small cells though then it's great news for where sprints network is heading in Atlanta. This is the antenna. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ki3pkK_7qjRFNTMklObGxBRjA/view?usp=docslist_api This is the box at the bottom. I don't necessarily know it's function. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ki3pkK_7qjaU5tdW9CWmFPUUk/view?usp=docslist_api Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  11. Ya Verizon used 7 TB and AT&T had 5.2 TB but that's cuz the lions share of people there were on the big 2. Still waiting on Sprint numbers though Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  12. http://www.tmonews.com/2016/02/t-mobile-reports-super-bowl-50-network-stats/ 2.1 TB according to this article Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  13. Galaxy s6 Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  14. Ya although I still try to keep track of service the best I can I will admit that it's not as "creditable" for lack of a better word as someone who currently has the service. 3 months was just the time since I left. So I'm saying it could have improved more since then. I've noticed the same improvements around the city that you were seeing before I left. I'm gonna to have to activate a phone to see how it is cuz our difference in perception is interesting. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  15. I understand that I don't use Sprint regularly. However I was having a simple discussion about service at a certain area of town. We both gave our points of view and excepted it. I thought that's what this website is about. Discussion of network performance. If Johnny gets more credibility because he uses Sprint than so be it. I stated my observation and he stated his. End of story. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  16. What's strange is that you seem butthurt ever since I switched to tmobile. I still like Sprint. I want Sprint to do good. If I didn't I wouldn't be here. And it's more than just second hand evidence I use service mode on there phones, monitor there dbm levels, and occasionally run speedtests. Its not like I just glance over and see that there on 3g or that there videos are buffering. Edit. Age doesn't matter. It doesn't define my ability to monitor the network and it doesn't say how much I know about telecommunications Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  17. Ya I don't know why that could be. Unless Sprint improved greatly in the 3 months since I got rid of them however my 3 family members still are on Sprint and to this day my brother asks me why he is on 3g all the time. His experience mirrors mine. I'm almost inclined to get a cheap prepaid on Sprint to see if service has improved in these three months I've been gone. I would be happy to see the results you have and it bums me out that I never experienced the same. Yes but my 3 family members still use Sprint. I monitor performance with there phones now and service is basically the same as since I switched. Tmobile is very good in Atlanta but there really no better than Sprint in Atlantic station. I've thought it must just be a dead zone for all the carriers. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  18. Good to see that Sprint is holding up Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  19. Where did u find that Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  20. In the Steve Harvey commercial it said that tmobile now has more lte towers than Verizon. Is that true cuz that seems really surprising to me Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  21. I'm a little confused by what your trying to say. You said the speed was fast but that there was hardly anyone there in the original pic. I only posted the other pic to show that it is still fast with people there Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  22. The stadium looks a little more full in this picture Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
  23. Wow can't believe it's that bad. Apparently they spent the most money to upgrade there network too. How embarising Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
