  1. AT&T is officially running 20x20 Band 2 LTE in the DC market
  2. Ran into a little issue connecting to band 30. The indicator in the status bar had this icon instead.
  3. Hey Mikejeep I have an idea. What about alerts for connecting to specific LTE bands? It would be helpful in spotting new LTE bands (I'm on the hunt for att band 30 in my area) or even an alert when connecting to a second or third carrier of a band. Just a thought
  4. Two things that have helped me with battery life. 1. I noticed that when I take my phone off the charger, according to GSAM the phone never sleeps. Usually a restart and it will fall into a deep sleep. 2. I changed the location mode to GPS only, and this cut down drastically on the Google Play services usage. Battery life has improved significantly for me after these two adjustments but I am still getting High Android system drain.
  5. Spotted some band 30 in downtown DC http://imgur.com/a/AdVT0
  6. I have to say the RF performance of this phone is really good. Only had it for a day so I'll run it through some different scenarios today and report back. But so far I can say it's better than the S6E
  7. My S7E pre-ordered through best buy is scheduled to be here tomorrow. Still awaiting pickup though.
  8. I did it through best buy but had it shipped thinking it would get here before it would be available in store
  9. If I had known best buy pre orders would be able to be picked up in store first I would've done that. I thought it would be shipped before it's available in store
  10. Hey guys, I saw this page about Qualcomm's TruSignal feature with the Snapdragon 820. Have you guys noticed better RF performance overall with the s7?
  11. Got my preorder through bestbuy...FYI Paypal has a nice option through their credit program that offer 6 months no interest on items $99+ and Bestbuy takes paypal payments.
  12. Samsung could easily flex it;s muscles to keep the carriers away from the software and device models like Apple does but I don't understand why not. At this point I'm sure no carrier wants to say no to carrying a Galaxy phone
  13. I would assume you have it turned on in your settings? You may have to call and have it enabled on your account.
  14. It's nice when you have a call with another AT&T customer. Haven't had any fallback to HSPA during a call so i can't comment on that but part of that is because they seem to have their Band 2 LTE cranked up really high around here, a lot of times stronger than Band 17
  15. How has VoLTE been for everybody else? I just got my first taste of it as I moved from Gophone to Postpaid. Coverage has been solid so far and calls super clear.
  16. in building penetration for situations where placing a tower is not feasible. No matter which way you look at it the more customers they bring in the more will be on that small slice of low band spectrum. They can't put towers on every street corner. Densifying will only do so much.
  17. Because only 5x5 800 isn't going to cut it. At some point they will need additional low band spectrum. Not thinking about the future in that department will cost them down the line.
  18. Question for you AJ. Before AT&T moved to 15 MHz FDD for Band 2, my phone use to use carrier aggregation with Band 17. Now this no longer occurs. Is this a limitation of aggregating with 15 MHz and 10 MHz or strictly AT&T limiting this?
  19. I recently visited Fort Lauderdale FL which is a Band 5 market for AT&T. About a year ago they were running 5x5 and it is now 10x10. I have a screenshot if anybody is interested.
  20. Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I thought it would be good to point out that I've noticed At&t is using 15x15 for its band 2 LTE in the Baltimore and DC market. Screenshot below https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzjp0bp7p2f5h3r/Screenshot_2015-11-21-23-00-46.png?dl=0
  21. well when you experience an issue over the course of a couple years, on multiple towers, multiple phones, in multiple markets then you'll see why it's a problem. I'm not here to start a battle over this but just to say RCS would be welcomed on the Sprint network from this user.
