  3. .@walkermarka is spreading the exciting news of #Sprint5G 📶⚡now available in Washington #DC! We’re bringing faster speeds on a mobile #5G network to some major parts of the DC area. sprint.com/Sprint5g Nice!
  4. NY lawsuit alleges T-Mobile sold used phones, claiming they were new The lawsuit alleges that "abusive sales tactics are rampant at Metro stores"..... Yikes! Sounds like a housecleaning is coming by Corporate. I imagine they don't want anything interfering with this merger.
  5. T-Mobile workers seek assurances from DT CEO about merger-related concerns Everybody's on their toes here....
  6. Slow upload speeds can render a device unusable, whether for web browsing or even sending emails with attachments. Slow upload speeds are just as bothersome, if not more so than slow download speeds, in my opinion.
  7. T-Mobile Pauses 5G Network Construction Due to Sprint Merger Delays – Report Hmmmm... Wonder if there’s any truth to this. In this very positive article/review of the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and Sprint’s 5G Network in Los Angeles, Sprint had no comment on its network plans beyond the 9 5G cities currently launched: https://venturebeat.com/2019/08/28/sprints-oneplus-7-pro-5g-lets-you-experience-2020s-typical-5g-today/? Hopefully Sprint isn’t pausing.
  8. 5G has officially launched in DC: https://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-lights-up-true-mobile-5g-in-washington-dc.htm Part of this 5G launch announcement for Los Angeles, New York City and Phoenix: https://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-lights-up-true-mobile-5g-in-los-angeles-new-york-city-phoenix-and-washington-dc.htm Seems Sprint/Nokia got the bugs worked out! Sprint's Coverage Map now shows 5G Coverage for DC.... Still a number of areas to cover with 5G in DC. From the Coverage Map, it actually seems that the 5G Coverage in Montgomery County, MD is greater than it is in DC. Have a look at Bethesda and then go in all directions. Seems solid.
  9. Important change to the eligible plans for Sprint's 5G: https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/5g.html See "Step 2" on the page: Choose your Unlimited plan Best with Unlimited Premium Also compatible with Unlimited Plus Curious what's behind the change. Perhaps not enough people on Unlimited Premium?

  11. Hmmm... Strange that the paywall went up. I was able to read it.
  12. Sprint CEO: Executive leadership decisions for New T-Mobile 'nearly done,' planning for 'day zero' underway Town hall meeting excerpt: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/101830/000119312519226148/d785149d425.htm
  13. Wow! That was really cool! Great behind the scenes video. Pretty awesome facility!
  14. If the merger goes forward, we’ll get a nice new 5G device lab out of it!: https://www.t-mobile.com/news/5g-device-lab Additional Background: https://www.fiercewireless.com/operators/t-mobile-launches-5g-lab-to-test-device-performance-across-technologies Given the dual networks, what will the device testing protocol/timeline be for the merged company?
  15. 5G still hasn’t officially launched in DC, despite Sprint saying it was coming here in the “coming weeks” when Chicago was announced as launched on July 11th. I wonder if the delay is related to the “approved” merger. Until this merger is actually finalized/consummated, I’m concerned that Sprint will treat its Network with a “just enough to keep the lights on” mentality, not care about Rootmetrics rankings, etc. Of course, Sprint did this for a number of years under Marcelo when Capex was substantially reduced. Last quarter’s Earnings Numbers (which are more fully explained here) were pretty terrible, especially with the Postpaid losses. I’m not sure why they’d be any better this quarter. Post-announcement/pre-merger Sprint is definitely an awkward period.
  16. Rootmetrics has been working fine for me on my iPhone and I’ve seen the Map Layer update. Are you running speed tests and looking at the “Fastest Speed Found” Map Layer? Under Settings: Do you have the “Baseline Data Experience” setting enabled as well as “Send data Points Using” set to “Any Network”?
  17. For 5G it would have to be a Massive MIMO site I believe, but otherwise you’re right: They probably speed tested the other carriers here to do this. Fine Print probably says “does not include upload”. Sprint now has about 3,000 Massive MIMO sites deployed, which gives us a good idea of their 5G footprint. They’re going to need a lot more than this though.
