  1. Dr. John Saw (Sprint CTO) just dropped the news on the Sprint/Ericsson relationship going forward: The Operational Side of Our Network Transformation
  2. I guess COWs will be deployed in force to supplement.... Here's what Sprint did for the inauguration back in 2013. Sprint Prepares its Network for 2013 Presidential Inauguration Hopefully Sprint puts this on the fast-track for January 2017.
  3. I'm hope Sprint will fast-track upgrades for Washington, DC, especially given the huge crowds expected for the Presidential inauguration in January 2017.
  4. Marcelo said: This includes bringing LTE Plus to even more markets and further unlocking the power of our deep spectrum position. Sprint has more spectrum deployed on LTE per consumer than any other carrier today. And no other company has the spectrum to unlock the power of carrier aggregation like Sprint does. We're already rolling out devices in the market that supports three channel carrier aggregation that are expected to deliver big speeds in excess of 200 megabits per second when we were allowed three channel carrier aggregation in the network expected as early as – early 2017.
  5. The LG G5 doesn't support 3xCA: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-409-teaser-lifes-good-with-volte/
  6. John C. B. Saw - Chief Technology Officer Hey, Jennifer. Just as a background, 74% of our postpaid sales in the quarter was CA capable, so there has been a rapid improvement and increase in CA capable phones. In terms of 3CA phones, we have five today that support three channel carrier aggregation including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the GS7 Edge. Three more we haven't really announced yet, but we will be doing some demos around that. So, the array of devices supporting CA is going to continue to increase and we expect to be rolling out upgrades to the network to support three channel carrier aggregation in a couple of months.
  7. Lol... Perhaps the ghost of Fabian? By the way: The coverage map was last updated on July 8th... and if Sprint now says there are 237 LTE Markets, I'd figure the Coverage Map would show an update.
  8. New Sprint commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b50GPIm99Pg Seeing Paul in Sprint commercials will never get old. I hope Sprint sticks with him for a long time. News Release Marcelo went through the Metrics of the original ad during the Call this morning, and the numbers/impressions are truly staggering. I'll pull them from the Transcript once it posts to Sprint's site.
  9. This 35% Figure from the Investor Update should jump substantially with upgrades to the iPhone 7 this Fall, so it'll be interesting to see what the next Investor Update shows for the quarter. On top of the iPhone Forever upgraders, Users with iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be eligible to upgrade to it via 2 Year Contracts as well (since it's been enough time), which is what will help bump this figure way up. Please Apple: Let it be 3xCA
  10. It was clear from the call that Marcelo is expecting the iPhone 7 to make this current quarter huge for Sprint in terms of upgrades.
  11. I could have sworn he was referring to devices that weren't released yet. We'll have to see the transcript when it's posted at Sprint's Investor's Site.
  12. If I just heard correctly, John Saw just said that Sprint will have a total of Five 3xCA capable devices.... Two are on the market now (S7/S7 Edge).... and three more are on the way. I'll bet one of them is the iPhone 7.
  13. The Investor Update has some good info: So 27% of the postpaid device base is still on non-triband LTE devices (Single/Dual LTE Band). That's still a substantial number. Seems to be the way the market is going. In the prior quarter (Q415) Investor Update (See Page 5) : "Carrier aggregation capable phones, which allow for higher data speeds, were 74 percent of postpaid phones sold during the quarter, increasing the number of these phones within the phone base to 28 percent." So there's definitely growth here vs. last quarter, but quite a way to go!
  14. Over $550 million of year-over-year reduction in cost of service and selling, general, and administrative expenses --> That's a substantial chunk of money. LTE Plus Network now available in 237 markets --> Good! 2.5GHz spectrum now carries more of Sprint’s LTE traffic than any other spectrum band --> Good metric. Sprint has to keep seeding the userbase with 2xCA/3xCA devices.
  15. Apparently Marcelo threw a big party at his house over the weekend for executives (and their families) who relocated to Kansas City to work for Sprint. http://www.kansascity.com/news/business/article91533162.html Some interesting interviews. Nice house too!
