  1. Just who I was thinking of.... Amazing that one line still resonates so clearly today. Tells you the state America is in. EDIT: Imagine if Sprint's network and Marketing were on point..... Boy we'd be experiencing a serious DOG FIGHT right now with the Big 4. I mean even more fierce than what we're seeing now.
  2. Be careful because a lot of Verizon's so called "Great" quarters recently have been from Tablet adds. Like Sprint, they've been using it to mask the truth. I know many in NYC, at my job specifically that are tired of the wallet raping of Verizon, they have been bit by the TMO blitz bug, so far the 2 I know are still on the Fence, but really want to try TMO. I haven't seen them since the iP6 release, I will have to ask them if they've changed.
  3. I believe if Sprint were to post anything north of 200K nets add's (not being masked by Tablet giveaways) they could possibly be pulling from all Carriers. I'm sorry but the days of just solely resting marketing national Coverage maps and being able to charge people out the A$$, and still have them sign up in droves are over... We are living in an "Its Too Damn High" Society with everything from Rent, to Car Payments, Cable, Insurance, and YES CELL PHONE BILLS! People are tired of 300$ Cell Phone bills, even if A / V have coverage in Cowtown, ID..... A/V are getting the message that they have to offer Value as well, they will not go as low as S and T but they have to give people more than just Better Coverage talk. TMO hit blitz hit at exactly the right time in America, people were yearning for this.. I know people who were Verzion loyalist in the early '00's but recently moved their family to TMO and havent't looked back again because they were tired of high cell phone bills.
  4. Ahhh... And so it begins..... the Data Hogs are slowing it down.... never fails.
  5. I'm planning to come back to my Sprint account (currently on Framily of 6 lines) I was gonna be the 7th to bring it to the 25$ per line. But was actually able to get Sprint to allow my aunts SERO+ plan to convert which has grown to cost her 70$ a month, she doesn't need Unlimited Data, the 1GB does her fine ( Wifi @ work and home)... Now we're all at 25$... I don't have a problem with Framily (name needs changed though) basic premise, but it does need an overhaul. One thing Sprint needs to maintain the Simplicity of the plan... Roll everything into "Framily" eligible, that means Phones, Tablets, Netbooks, and Mifi. Allow data to be shared on all tiers and all lines except lines with Unlimited buy-ups. Abolish Contracts and Subsidies completely, win customer loyal with decent pricing and a quality network. Allow Open Upgrade policy using Easy-Pay. This means a line can upgrade at anytime using Easy-Pay, as long as the previous device on the said line has been paid off in Full. Allow customers to pay as much as the want over the Minimum Easy-Pay amount to pay off their devices faster. Better Device Selection, needs to have a comprehensive device selection to offer that covers all major OSs. For Sprint this means more Windows Phones ( they need Nokia's), and better selection of tablets. Sprint place is to compete by being a solid Middle Ground experience "Verizon/ATT" like Network experience, with Reasonable (Non-Gouging) Simplistic Plan Pricing. No need to chase Bottom Feeder like T-MO does, leave them to TMO, who will bolt on TMO as soon as their network buckles under the weight of the Data Hogs. Which is why I feel like Sprint avoided another Nextel-like disaster with TMO over-loading its network with Bottom-Feeders only to have the Network go to hell once Sprint finalizes the merger, then collapses under its own weight. Sound Familiar? As I said earlier as far as gaining scale, and building network, Sprint/Masa needs to focus on eating up the CCA partners as they wont be around long. Verizon/ATT will start eating these guys one by one once the M&A climate is back in their favor. If I was Sprint I would use USCC to kick things off, then go after C-Spire (who wants eaten), then Ntelos, and so on and so forth.
  6. Has anyone been picking up B41 around the Burgh? Also anyone know if PAT is working to bring Coverage to the underground stations along the "T"?
  7. Like I was telling Deval this morning. If Masa want scale and larger nework, I honestly believe Sprint needs to focus on the CCA as they complete the build out of NV. They (Sprint) need to strategize and and laser focus on buying up the CCA partners slowly and strategically and fold their network architecture into NV along the way. The CCA agreement buys Sprint time, since the roaming will be treated as Native Coverage. Make no mistake however, it is not an end all solution. Once the political climate changes Verizon will start eating away at the CCA partners and Sprint will be left with the "WTF" look on their faces, AGAIN, just like when Verizon ate Alltel. Masa/Sprint must play Verizon's game, if he was willing to buy TMO, the resources are there to do this very calculating. I believe this approach would have much easier time passing DOJ and FCC hurdles as the Gov seems mostly focused on keep 4 national carriers, little guys are up for grabs especially since Sprint would be able to make the same case about needing more "scale". Sprint can easily still win here, in my book... but they need to execute and remain focused on fixing the Network. EDIT: Come to think of it.... If these guys were smart, I would divide and conquer... with Masa handling the CCA and starting the talks of acquiring the partners. While Claure focuses more on Sprint itself and fixing the brand.
  8. Right now everything things needs to be about the Network, seriously, new pricing plans, and marketing will be all for not if the network experience is still poor. It'll be throwing good money after bad, as customers come in but don't stick. AFTER the network is up to par in majority of the country, Sprint is going to need to go hard on Marketing like it never has before. I'm not talking about more that BS Framily Marketing we see now with the Hamster (WORST than the "Yes You Can" campaign). I mean they really need someone that knows how to do Marketing, almost a NV overhaul in the Marketing dept. Sprint has sucked for too long at marketing itself. They need simpler plans, tie Tablets into new plans to make data sharing more sensible. I don't need Unlimited, I understand there is still a market for it, but I strongly believe the "Unlimited-er's" are becoming a niche/cult market. Where many like myself are discovering they do just fine without Unlimited, and even prefer tiers as it simplifies the bill without needing pay for data for each individual line. My Grandmothers line Doesn't need data what so ever, however she gets 1GB included in her Framily, that no else can use when others on my line could use that extra 1GB from time to time. Sprint also has to tie Tablets into Share-able plans... Why is 3GB of data 10$ on Framily, but same allotment 35$ for Tablets. This makes no sense to me. My suggestion, move to Share-able tiered data plans between all 3G/4G devices (Phones, Tablets, Hotspots). However still offer Unlimited as a mark-up NON-Share-able bolt on for individual lines that need it (Phones, Tablets Only) all other lines will share from the pool. Very simplistic. Go full throttle on Easy-Pay, allowing for Unlimited use of Easy-Pay. As long as the device on said line has been paid off in full, the sub can utilize Easy-Pay again whenever to upgrade again, just like a Credit Card. NO contracts involved. I would upgrade every year, as I don't need but 2-3 months to pay for my device in Full if that.
  9. Thanks for the Update.... Boy I hope this is fixed before I come back... While this is just One Spot in the city, its a big deal for me... A Deal Breaker... I probably will stay off Contract with Verizon until Penn is fixed if ever. Come On Sprint fix Penn Station
  10. Hey Guys - Some of you may know me from Hofo or SU (LOL @ that place now).. Never really joined the convo here becasue I was burned out from the Non-Stop Sprint Haterism and mis-information that flies around the Tech/Wireless sites now about Sprint.... Anyway I used to be a serious Sprint Fanboy... I left Sprint back Nov 2012 to Verizon as a "Detour" if you will, while my main road "Sprint" was getting "re-paved". More people should've done this rather than just complain about the torchure of waiting on NV upgrades. I've always intended on coming back to Sprint once NV and Tri-band was pretty solid, I still have my Sprint Account as their are still family using it. I believe I left Sprint at the exact right time, as my 2-years on Verizon will be up just as NYC will be solid Tri-Band, and CA equipment will start rolling out on Sprint. My 2 years on Verizon were "usable" nothing "Out of this World" Good, as my equipment (Droid DNA and iPad 3) can only access the 700 mhz LTE and that sh*t is saturated in the City. At this point I'm knocked to 3G and 1X almost as often as I was on Sprint with WiMax. I have been watching this thread very closely as I want to be sure when I plan to return all functions of Spark/NV performing at (in Hesse verbage) "Best Ever Levels" in the NYC metro, that means the City, Jersey, LI, Westchester. It seems like it will meet my expectations by Nov 2014 my planned return... Except for my one central concern which lead me to come out of hiding and start posting. PENN STATION - the Nexus of my Daily Commuting. I need one of you guys to provide updates on Penn, if you commute through there often. Anyone travels through Penn knew that this is a Big Swan Dive of a sore spot for Sprint, even more-so now that Verizon, ATT, and TMO all have full service inside Penn, even down on the Tracks. Verizon is still only thing in the Hudson River Tunnel, but that's not a deal breaker for me. I need Sprint to fix Penn however before I come back, I can't be in Penn Station for hours (when there's delays) and have No Usable Service.. So Guys let me know the status of NV/Spark within Penn if you can... Voice was never a problem for me in Penn, even with my last Sprint device the EVO 3D.
