1. News just keeps getting better and better. No More Hamsters, Zombies, Gor-Dons, Screaming Girls and other Silly Stupid Ass Ad-Campaigns.... Time for seriousness, really grab peoples attention.
2. Its "turning up the power" all apart of Optimization? and we're still waiting on NYC to be Optimized, correct?
3. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprints-claure-you-aint-seen-nothing-yet-terms-value-message/2014-11-12 YES! Marcelo - Preach! Finally my Cries about Marketing have been heard.
4. FINALLY! Someone Who Get's It. I can't wait to see how Marketing/Branding turns around for Sprint. Hopefully this will be a whole NEW ball game.
5. I think Firing the Marketing team, was one of Masa first moves at Sprint... and it was obviously something that needed to go... But now they need to rebuild, they need a message, something that Sprint can use to define itself and build on.... "Now Network" back in early Hesse era had the makings to meet "Most Reliable" levels of Branding, but it crashed under the bad press of WiMax, and Slow, non-usable 3G. Sprint won't have any significant post-paid adds until 1) The Network is prime time, and 2) They have a solid, on-point, in-your-face marketing, branding campaign to thwart and counter all of the Negativity out there around the Sprint brand. Plans were the easy part... Offer more value and that's good enough to get some people in the door, but if the Network is not adequate enough, they'll Churn right back out the door ... Solid Marketing/Branding not only brings people in, it also retains them... Think of it like constant pep-rally, you keep regurgitating "Best Network, Best Prices" type Themes and Marketing to your loyal base, and they can somewhat see that in their Bills, and with the Network. They will be loyal, and it will be harder for other carriers to poach them. It's Brand Loyalty 101. Legere and TMO put out a FANTASTIC Marketing/Branding campaign, just look at all the TMO fanboys out there now, carrying the torches for TMO. It was Brilliant... I wish Sprint could get some that marketing talent , they desperately need it. No more Zombies, Hamsters, and other Goofy, Lame Ass campaigns. Gotta fight Fire with Fire.
6. Sprint needs MARKETING, BRANDING, a THEME....To define them, right now what defines Sprint is all the Techblogs, Sprint Haters, and Media perception of Sprint.... Theres nothing out there countering that. I hope, pray, and beg Marcelo next big "Go Hard Focus" is around Marketing, Branding and Image.... Only thing in Sprint marketing that still works is the colors "Yellow", you see yellow in context of wireless you think Sprint, like TMO is Pink, VZ is Red and ATT is Blue.....Everything else about Sprint marketing needs scrapped and overhauled, and a laser focus campaign around new branding needs to have a "NV" like strategy. EDIT: Say what you will about Legere management styles, dude has mastered an effective marketing campaign. Part of which brought TMO back to life.
7. Still Post-Paid Losses and Churn is higher than it was in the previous quarter.... It was Wholesale that gave them a gain.... Doesn't speak well of Sprint branding right now.... Sprint needs some serious Marketing like yesterday, some serious branding.
8.

So more of the same...... This is depressing.... sometime I feel like there's no hope for S....

EDIT:

This show there's alot of work that needs to be done.... A LOT.... And more than just the Network. When are we going to see more hardcore Marketing from this company.

Say what you will about Legere, the dude knows how to market..... Everyone knows "Uncarrier", damn if Sprint could just get some of that.

9. Funny, I had already thought he was already out and proud .... Any way good for him
10. Got my iPad Air 2's last night.... WOW! What a worthless Telesales experience. Since this was a brand new line, didn't have phone number for it yet and I didn't want to go on single Tablet plans (only thing available by activating through the iPad), I needed to be transferred to Telesales first (Sprint please American-ize Telesales again) to assign a Phone number UGH! All was going fine until the rep kept asking for a CCID number, kept telling her It's not here in the "About" Screen after 20 mins of going through every serial number on the About screen she gets assistance on the line and she states the CCID is the "SIM" and I would have to remove the SIM from each iPad and read the number. Since these are Apple SIM and not Sprint SIM the confusion goes from bad to worse. I read her both SIM numbers and she puts me on hold for 20mins and comes back saying she needs the SIM numbers again after I placed them back in their respective iPads. Another 20mins goes by, then she comes back and tells me to go to the store. Which, after all that, I was thinking would be best. After giving up for the night I decided to try to activate through the iPad themselves and then call and switch the plan with Regular CS. BINGO, Very Easily done. Wish I would've known that ahead of time to save myself a 90 min Worthless Telesales Call. So Here's A Tip.... Activate the SIM/Line on the iPad, choose any plan to get the thing activated. Once you have "Sprint" up in the Corner, call Reg CS to change the plan..... CS can't do anything until the iPad has a Phone number assigned.
11. Just as I stated, glad to see the media is realizing this too.... People want, need value.....
12. Here its a form of all three, I go between Xfinity (my home provider), Optimum (NJT Train Station Coverage), and TWC (Large NYC hubs - i.e. Penn Station) Xfinity in my surrounding areas I suspect is broadcasting through business and residential privately-leased Wireless Modems. I guess Optimum and TWC do the same thing in their territories, but for the Train Stations and Big Hubs, they'd have to be using Small Cell deployment.
13. The Biggest and really only PITA I have with Cable WiFi is while moving, like on a train, that going in and out of WiFi rapidly is a PITA, I will just disable WiFi during this time. I do like for it to remember the network, since it will auto log me in anytime I'm near, and the fact you don't have to go through that annoying ass T&C Authentication wall with each log-in. I've only ever had to log-in one time through Xfinity's (Comcast) log in page, and it just jumps on where ever Cable WiFi is broadcasting, regardless of the "roaming" provider.
14. I said this before, I don't think Sprint is going to continue with "Tablet" Plans... The Idea is just to have everyone use the Family share algorithms even for a 1 line iPad, going forward. So what you see for Family share are pretty much your tablet plans.
15. Same here.... NYC and my home base are blanketed in Cable WiFi..... Penn Station, my main sore spot for Sprint data in my daily commute, has both Amtrak WiFi (only in it section of Penn Station), and TWC WiFi (covers the rest), its a great fall back until Sprint can get network together at Penn.
16. You did right getting the Air 2, since it offers Spark, where's the Air 1 doesn't... Still can't figure out why the Mini 3 excludes Spark. I just brought An Air 2 16gb and an Air 2 128gb, both Space Grey w/Cellular. Will get the 40$ 4gb Family Share plan just for the iPads, after my NVP should be about 33$ a month. Love that Sprint is waiving the Access Fees for now. I use a good bit of iPad data on my Commute to/from NYC, roughly ~2/2.5 gbs per month. My sister has Wifi everywhere at college, and most places she would use the iPad, but got her a Cellular iPad to have a fall back.
17. Again, Big Red leans heavily on Tablet sales. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/verizon-again-leans-tablets-postpaid-subscriber-growth-q3/2014-10-21
18. Its seem like instead of revamping the Tablet plans, Sprint is pushing everyone and everything towards family share plans, and with the Access waived its pretty decent. http://www.sprint.com/landings/ipad/ipad_why_sprint.html Even if you only have 1 line, you're still placed on the Family Share.... It can be a totally separate plan from the Grandfathered plans many are on. So you can have a FS with just 1 iPad using it, While your phones are using your GF'd Max-Discount Framily Plan. Which is what I was hoping would be the case. This is much more simplistic and easy to understand... No more Phone plans vs. Tablet Plans vs. MiFi Plans. Everything under is FS... Except the singular device Unlimited plan. Which is a good simple caveat. I like plan structures that are in-your-face simple, not some jigsaw puzzle you need to study in order to figure out maximum saving for your usage and devices. I'll definitely be hitting this up..... 2 iPad Air 2s 64gb Space Gray, 16gb Silver... Will do 40$ 4 GB plan FS ,NVP discount will make it roughly 33$ a month. Keep my Phones on Framily, since I'm at the Max Discount and I have outside lines that are on my ID.
19. Thanks for that, just what I needed to know. I will be buying my 2 iPads directly from Apple since I will get better financing terms through that channel.
20. I actually called about this, this week.... Because I have a 10 (25$ - per) line Framily plan with my Brother and Aunt's account on my FID. So as you can imagine I don't want to touch this set-up what-so-ever. So I called and confirmed that Tablets can actually go on the New Family plans by themselves if needed (no voice lines required).. I plan on doing the 40$ 4gb plan for 2 iPads .. I need find out if they will be exempt from the access charge like phones are. If so this maybe a much better set up than the actual tablet plans themselves. I hope with the new iPads Sprint will either revamp their tablet plans, or will scrap tablet plans altogether and solidify Family Share is for all devices.
21. Like other have said your comparisons really were not fair, testing a over year old phone to a more recent one. Second - people need to stop equating High Speeds with QOS. I careless about super high speeds that in real-world use make no difference to the end user than a good 5 MB down with low pings would.... If not for Speed Test Apps, we really wouldn't be able to tell any difference. Give me a solid 5-10 down with Rock Hard Consistency, over Inconsistent Bursts of >30 Down. I really wish America was smarter than Speed Tests. We really need to mainstream another metric for which we judge networks other than overly generalized Speed Tests.
22. Damn thing is so thin makes my iPad 3 look like a brick..... Anyway this will be the iPad I upgrade to, since it will have Spark...... My time on Verizon will finally be over....
23. Keep in mind a lot of the Sprint hate is from Ex-Sprint Users (no-pun). People who are jaded at Sprint of the past, and in there mind there's only one Sprint, and they will bash excessively until there's more "in-your-face" proof of a "New Sprint" right now there's still much of the "Old Sprint" (Network) around the country to still "somewhat" validate the Sprint Haters.
24. I ported my VZ line back to my existing Framily on the iP6 release, Never was questioned. MOF the Store Rep didn't even ask about the new plans, like he already knew I wanted to add on to my existing plan.
