Network Vision, range extended?
bucdenny replied to baba booey's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Once they install the new gear and panels, you should expect better signal. I found on the corner of 805/94 freeway going towards Euclid Ave there is a dead zone on the freeway so you drop your calls. Now that NV has been completed between the 2 sites along the freeway with new panels up, I am assuming they had changed or improved the tilts. My phone does not drop to no less than 3 bars from that dead zone. Much improvement from my experience. From no bars dead zone to 3 bars. -
LTE was found next to site on Logan and S Euclid Ave. Also, LTE next to site on Skyline and S 61st St and confirmed visually this site has new NV gear which most likely was completed recently. Both of these sites are in South East San Diego. Both location are mapped on Sensorly

Has the wait been worth it?

Once Nextel is died in a few months, will Sprint Direct Connect work over CDMA 800mhz when available? San Diego won't be getting 800mhz anytime soon and wondering because their 1900mhz service does not work well in parking garages in downtown San Diego. Will Sprint Direct Connect benefit from Network Vision? Will it only work on CDMA 1900 or work on all 800/1900/2600?

Anyone getting many drop calls between the hand off of 2 NV completed 3G sites? Every time I am on a call traveling from site * to site *, I would drop calls. Called Sprint and they said they couldn't recreate the problem. How can these sites be accepted by Sprint, but are having problems? I had called 800-268-0796 and explained to them these are sites that Sprint had accepted as completed for 3G and are having problems. Can it just be only my phone? I don't have drop calls at any other locations.

: D. I guess I was tripping when I had sensorly on with 4G points showing up and 4G indication showing up. That day was going to do a speed test but when I went back on a second trip that hour 4G was gone. There was a truck there next to the site off the side of the 5 freeway so I guess they were testing.

Was there a major delay because of permit issues? Have seen many permits for last month but nothing much for Jan. Anyone know how to look up info that is useful? https://publicservices.sdcounty.ca.gov/CitizenAccess/ Would be nice if someone can put something together for San Diego.

Many approved sites now in San Diego this week. Good news, LTE is just around the corner, I hope Christmas we see some towers with LTE! I have a tower near my house on schedule map to be ready by October but is yet to be accepted. The speeds are always above 1Mbps so NV is definitely completed.

Virgin Mobile in Canada same as US? http://www.virginmobile.ca/en/hot-offers/iphone5.html?province=ON&geoResult=failed# Seem like they offering iPhone 5. Didn't know that Sprint operates Virgin Mobile in Canada.

Thoughts on bailing Sprint for Verizon San Diego?
bucdenny replied to snowtrooper1966's topic in General Topics
With NV underway in San Diego, Sprint service will soon be as good as Verizon. Many cell sites here in San Diego, I am getting average 700Kbps to 1Mbps on Sprint. It has gotten a lot better this year and when LTE launch by the end of the year it will be smoking! -
Would love to see an updated map for San Diego. Wasn't there work done already in July and August?

I have been very happy with my Sprint service until recently. I have 4 sprint towers all within 1 mile radius. I live on top of the hill, 1 tower is within a few blocks. I have been getting 5-6 bars on my EVO LTE, but getting crazy drop calls lately. I have notice when I am on a call with 5 bars, it may drop to maybe 1 bar or none and drops my call. What is going on? What can I do to fix this issue? I have never experience this issue before which started happening a few weeks ago. My EVO LTE is up to date with the latest recent HTC update. Called Sprint but no help as they have no outages, opened ticket but nothing happened...WTF? I didn't have any of these issue since I had my EVO and EVO LTE which all started happening recently. I am in the middle of the following towers: SD34XC666 North SD73XC163 East (2-3 Blocks Down) SD34XC520 South West SD34XC664 WEST Crazy to even have 4 towers within 1 mile, why is that?

I was trying to find an app to match up with the maps. I have 3 towers near my house that is within 2 miles which I'm not sure I'm connected to.

Which one are the most accurate? Cell Mapper or Netmonitor doesn't seem to be accurate. What is everyone using?

jcthorne, at launch the lte/nv networks are not 100% complete. why are you complaining? it will get there soon eventually.

Great everything is rolling fast. I see a cell tower couple blocks from my house. How can I tell if it belongs to Sprint?
