  1. I just flipped over to 3G and my phone isn't picking up a signal. That means all of 850MHz is only 5G now? AT&T doing DSS on that or no?
  2. I would wager it was either DNS or a major fiber path was impacted.
  3. Thanks for that. That answers a lot. Very cool about the international WiFi calling as well. Is that typical across carriers and MVNOs?
  4. I use screen call / google assistant on my Pixel phone which answers calls from numbers not in my phonebook. I currently have physical sim for primary and esim is empty. At work, occasionally I am on call (once very two months) and these calls are emergency in nature so I can't have google answering my calls from unknown numbers. If I were to use an esim to take these emergency calls, does anyone know if I can have the screen call feature enabled for my primary number but not my secondary, esim, number?
  5. Kinda makes me wonder how hard mmWave is going to be pushed still. AT&T has 160x160MHz of 3.45/3.7GHz. Makes that seem like mmWave might still see very limited deployment. What is AT&T doing with WCS these days? Still limited to 5x5? IIRC (could be completely wrong here) filters they used to make them 10x10 still had interference on Sirius, so had to go 5x5 unless AT&T broadcast Sirius off the towers.
  6. I wanted to get on with Genesis, but waited too long. Just moved my line to BM and another to RP this week. Experience switching to BM was fantastic though. Hopefully through them I can at some point get a new sim, or go esim to ride on the Dish network when it exists.
  7. Documentation says one thing, but reality can prove the documentation to be completely inaccurate once you actually test the equipment. I run into this pretty regularly at work with software and hardware I utilize. "hey, it says it can do xyz" and I get a "mumble mumble mumble, yeah we never got that to actually work" or "that configuration actually doesn't exist", or "we are waiting on firmware" or "this functionality costs extra, buy this for $15,000/yr per radio and we will turn it on" blah blah blah.
  8. Wonder if AT&T is doing some last minute deals with businesses, as to why HSPA is still online. Or maybe there are contracts in place that have pushed the "deadline" out in various places. Shoot, AT&T could be getting sued in local courts and the courts saying AT&T needs to keep it online until things are settled?
  9. Dish Reveals First Coverage Maps, 'Boost Infinite' Brand | PCMag Some general coverage maps. Boost Infinite to be primary postpaid brand. They sound interested in eSIM. Makes sense to make for quicker, easier and cheaper transition to Dish's network. 80% pop coverage in 2025. We will have to remember Sprint. They covered what, over 90% pop but if you looked at their coverage map it still looked pretty pitiful for absolute coverage. At least Dish will have a solid roaming partner with AT&T for 10 years. I have one line on a 12yr that expires this month I am going to put on Solo until hopefully I can jump on Genesis. Got another line going on the current Boost Mobile unlimited deal for $300/yr. I know that isn't on the Dish network, hopefully I will be able to change out SIMs at some point. Pretty excited to be trying at the network. I do hope though that when you are on the edge of the network, it won't try to hold on forever to a Dish signal. Hopefully it will gladly switch over to AT&Ts signal and act as if it were native, using the same set of criteria to switch between the two networks just like switching between towers.
  10. The equipment that Dish is deploying now, does it even support n48 or n77? Seems like a good deal, this will allow Dish to continue a one climb per tower strategy.
  11. FAQs page says "There are no data caps. This plan offers unlimited data, talk and text, which is of course subject to our terms and conditions (no BitTorrent please)." - lol Also, Vegas customers are getting whiteglove treatment. Pretty cool. I wonder if the unlimited includes hotspot and if this $30 plan will be grandfathered in if it stays this price when my market launches. I'd be willing to settle for this Moto phone while I wait for greater phone compatibility. This is pretty exciting. I need a new plan and was thinking of getting another 1yr pre-paid, but I am going to go month to month now. Beings that they are testing their network with the S21 and S22, I really hope that they allow these devices.
  12. If I call or text a US number and they are overseas, does that count as international use? If so, which party is charged? What if they are overseas and text or call me via traditional means? If so, which party is charged? My SO might be traveling a bit now and shopping for plans. We do MVNOs but it doesn't seem like many of them even offer international add-ons. Really only see US Mobile and Google Fi.
  13. Well shoot, I know they are 5G only. Excuse the forgetfulness. I guess just replace the B with N as you did there for me.
  14. Hmm.. I'd rather it be VZW or ATT. I got two lines that need renewals next month and I think I will throw one of them on this service to see whats up and just to throw a little cash at C Spire. Support a little guy. It is supper weird cause it looks like TMobile coverage, but when I zoom in, their talk, text and data coverage is adds more, many places TMobile has zero coverage, Sprint had zero coverage and no regional providers exist. It doesn't match up with AT&T or even VZW coverage.
  15. I got my beta email but said for Las Vegas residents only. There are soooo many new Dish sites up in my area. It is a shame. Hopefully soon. I think I am going to jump on Boost Mobile network just so I can throw a few dollars their way each month. I wonder once Dish network is live, if they will start shifting users over to their network where they can when it is accessible. B26, B29, B66 and B71 for devices that can support these, I'd expect Dish to be able to offload a good bit of traffic onto their network. Major markets potentially have a good bit of spectrum in those bands to keep speeds adequate for the number of users they currently have. In my market on those bands I got 10x10 B26, 5x5 B29, no B66 and 5x5 B71. 1.) Can low-band be aggregated together now? So B71+B29+B26? 2.) I have noticed that Dish deploying just one antenna per sector. What kind of band support do we anticipate Dish to go live with?
  16. c spire solo launched. $35/mo for whatever their unlimited means. Outside their native coverage, whose network on these guys using these days? https://www.cspire.com/solo/
  17. Likely due to agreements VZW is making with satellite businesses to move them a long quicker. I was just reading an article that SES entered into an agreement with VZW to install filters at 500 sites before the end of 2022. VZW will pay them up to a cool $170M for their efforts. As a byproduct of this work, I wonder if some of AT&Ts spectrum will also get cleared earlier.
  18. The link is dead now. I think the link was unique though, can't be for certain. I'd trying signing up here and hope you get reached out to. https://launch.genesis5g.com
  19. I feel like there are a lot of Dish sites around here. New sites/locations with just one antenna per sector. Looking at that list of cities, mine is on the list so it makes sense. I am assuming that Dish will be roaming on AT&T when out of coverage? I'd love to ride on the Dish network but I need coverage with my job. I'm actually going to try out Boost Mobile in a couple months due to the lack of TMobile coverage. I also got yet another email to beta Genesis, but did not seem restricted to Las Vegas. Asked questions like what you are into and if you have been part of betas before that need feedback.
  20. Yes The invite link appears to be just a vanilla link. https://launch.genesis5g.com/survey/ Asks 5 simple questions, and then asks for your phone number so a rep can call or text "regarding Project Genesis products and services".
  21. Anyone in Vegas? Just 30 minutes ago I got an email for the first round of invites into Project Genesis. It's happening!
  22. Fiercewireless put out an article today. Sounds like AT&T wont get heavily started until later this year when equipment will be more available that supports both 3.45GHz and C-Band.
  23. So, I just got a new Toyota. Uses the AT&T network. I just paid $200 for their unlimited prepaid unlimited service. Is there any way to find out information on the modems Toyota uses? What bands are supported, do they support CA, support 5G, etc? Also, another note of discussion, with the 3G shutdowns from AT&T, VZW, Sprint and even the LTE shutdown on Sprint, a lot of vehicles will no longer be connected. Do we know if car manufactures are going to have the option to upgrade those modems to LTE/5G?
  24. I don't have a 5G phone yet. Once Dish goes live for consumers I'd totally throw down for a phone and hop on Dish's network. At least provided they allow access to towers even in unofficial markets.
  25. I like VICE. They actually report on news no one else is willing to report. A lot of the places they go no sane person would want to be there. They put their life on the line in many cases to get a story. From stories about the avocado wars in Mexico, being in the front lines against ISIS and Ukraine, to being embedded with terrorist organizations. FAA might have some conspiracy 5G nut on their team or something. At work ever year we have some one come in and say "hey, can you turn off the WIFI in my room? I don't want its radiation". It doesn't make sense and their reasoning is always uneducated conspiracy. I can see someone coming into my office and acting crazy over C band disregarding everything else.
