Glad to see Sprint improving, I switched to T Mobile and if the merger goes through it will be a beast of a network.

My sister just switched to Tmobile, its faster at her job. But awful at home. Massive variation depending on location.
In my apartment all carries are not great due to the thick brick walls. Not a big deal as I have WiFi of course/ WiFi calling.

I find tmobile is mostly slower where I visit most, and worst yet can barely make a call in my building.
Everyone’s experience will differ just based on where they frequent. For me T Mobile has been better with speed and coverage by a lot.

Well I switched to T-Mobile last month and do not regret it at all. Getting insane speeds. Hopefully the merger goes through and sprint and T-Mobile combine there assets to make a great network.

Speeds have slowed down a lot in Sheapsheadbay area / Kings highway Brooklyn. (0.50kb/s...)
Not sure whats going on. What really pisses me off is the terrible service I get while on above ground subway.
I take the N or Q to Manhattan and its slow and cant watch much videos.
T mobile was great when I did the test drive awhile back on the above ground subway.
I think I will switch soon once my contract is up, Sprint is better now but its so damn inconsistent.

At Palisades mall in West Nyack, Awesome B25 indoor DAS..
Palasades Mall West Nyack indoor DAS https://imgur.com/gallery/oISGr
2xCA B25 speeds between 15 and 30mb everywhere indoors.
About time... It used to be so bad in there.

Option 2 is better. I don't know if you've been following along in the Open World thread but the 64kbps cap isn't enforced that heavily. At times I get up to 200kbps.
Can you send me the link to that thread? Im not seeing it.
-
Oh okay, maybe Google Voice forwarding? I've just heard local sims are MUCH cheaper and would obviously provide better service than roaming.
Yes true, but its just more convenient when I dont have to go and get a SIM.
-
Option 3. Use an unlocked phone and buy a sim while you are over there. Do you have a phone other than the iPhone 6S?
I actually have a 7 Plus now. It is unlocked for international but I want to have the same # while im over there.

Does facebook/email load ok?

I'm going overseas (Russia), I have two options.
Option 1) Use Sprint open world (not available anymore, I'm grandfathered in) = 3 cents per MB at 3G speeds which is $30/GB.
OR
Option 2) The current Sprint global roaming = free unlimited 2G speed but can purchase speed pass at up to 4G speeds. $25 for a week but limited to 100mb a day.
I will be there for a month, I'm kind of torn on this, All opinions would be helpful. -
Rootametrics has 1st Quarter 2017 results up for a lot of markets and Sprint has improved in almost all of them. The NYC market is not up yet but I expect a big improvement.

Pulling 60mbs down at 34rd st and 8th ave inside T-mobile store. T-mobile phone pulling in 7mb/s...
these small cells are rocking Manhattan.

I get great data speeds inn Brooklyn but when I visit my folks in Jamaica, Queens I noticed speeds are about 1mbps. In Brooklyn by Bensonhurst I sometimes get 80mbps.
Any reason why Queens has been neglected?
I have a similar place on Kings highway in Brooklyn. I think its just congestion and will be fixed soon most likely.
You came from verIzon am I correct? How are you finding Sprint overall compared to verizon?
-
Im from NYC but I was at Magic Kingdom last weekend and Sprint was very good, speeds anywhere from 10mb/s to 40mb/s.
Im guessing a DAS is installed?
-
yes maybe I went to far in saying Orlando. But around celebration it's bad.I think it's more of an issue with Celebration versus urban Orlando. The last time I was in Celebration service was pretty bad, but then again that whole town is different...

I switched back to Sprint last October and I'm loving it. I had jumped shipped in 2012 to At&t and decided to give Sprint another chance and their network has improved tremendously.
I was in Providence, RI for Thanksgiving and it was great out there too.
I have been with Sprint since the 4S, I lived through the rough times. It took a while but Sprint is very good now, especially in NYC.
I guess I hit a rough patch in a section of orlando.. who knows.

Let me tell you where I was. I was around Celebration ave at the Radisson. I went to get some thai food at thai thani 600 Market St #110, Celebration, FL 34747. One bar of LTE with unusable speeds inside and outside. Another location is the Cheesecake factory at saw grass mall.
No LTE inside with barley usable 3g. Outside there is LTE but its slow as heck.. cmon 1mbs down?
The City Walk at universal was especially bad.
If I lived in that area I would have switched in a heart beat. Good thing I am very happy with Sprint in NYC.
-
Not related to NYC but I was in Orlando over the weekend and sprint is embarrassingly bad... it's night and day compared to our NYC. I mean it's bad down there. Like I was back in 2012.

Getting upwards of 90mb/s Download and of course max out of 16 Upload outside on the street around my apartment.

-
What was the upload?
I dont remember T-Mobile or Att but mine says it was 4mb/s
-
Last weekend I was around Duane Park 7 pm in a Restaurant with some family.
My cousin is on T-mobile and another on Att. We did a speed test, the results were
Me (Sprint) - 40mb/s T-mobile- 22 mb/s Att - 16 mb/s
All of course more then enough for any usage but it shows how much improvement Sprint has made.
-
These small cells are awesome in Manhattan. Getting upwards of 30mbs midtown.

Fun fact, while taking my Uber today I found out T-Mobile doesn't have service in the Battery Tunnel. Meanwhile Sprint has Band 26 down here and I'm posting this while on it right now. It might be leaky coax or a DAS because the signal is really strong.

Carriers put DAS in tunnels?

Upload speeds are still terrible. I don’t get why
