  1. With the ubiquity of WIFI options now it seems like this is even more of a giant misstep. I try to glom on to it wherever I can, and yes I will abuse Starbucks or McDonalds WIFI if I'm close enough to get connected. $4 coffee entitles me IMO.
  2. I would be perfectly content with a 21GB soft cap per line...doubt I'd ever get there. If Sprint followed TMO but made it a 25GB soft cap .... 25>21 so Sprint FTW waiting for #sprintallinsux to start trending
  3. Marcelo should just say it was a clerical error that was in the plan details before the FCC ruling and their legal forgot to take it out. Claim someone was going to lose their job or something.
  4. The activation fee is lame, but don't forget TMO charges you $15 (IIRC) for your SIM card setup - essentially an activation fee - so if they lowered it would make sense.
  5. There's no way I'm leaving my ED1500 plan now. I'm going to use the loyalty credit they are offering (which I'd lose strangely enough if I left ED1500) on my last 2 GS3 lines and bump them to GS5s and ride it out for the next 24 months and see where the network is at. What's funny is that I remember the old EVO when I got it an people were like "no way I'd watch videos on a phone, it's too small" and now it's a defacto standard media device where people are watching so much video that it's causing all this uproar.
  6. Immediately for me means as soon as Team BadBoyz on XDA gets it into their ROM. Might give Viper a look see as well.
  7. Carrier aggregation - allows you to connect to multiple channels ... see the latest Wall post about it being live in some areas. I just want to see if it's happening in California too
  8. Anyone know how to verify and/or enable CA on the M9?
  9. What I'd really like to see is Sprint kill that stupid $10 per line "Premium Data" charge that I'm hit with on all lines on my ED1500 plan. It made sense back when 95% of people still had flip phones, but seriously what's the percentage of people w/o a smartphone now? Crikey my parents have iPhones and they are late sixties/early seventies!
  10. Sadly using NetIndex for my work area, only TMO shows up (9.8) ....for my home area, only TMO show up (20.5) but in two neighboring cities Sprint is 4th @ 8.2 In Los Angeles Sprint still fourth @ 8.6 Granted, we aren't as far along (still can't figure how an area the size of the LA/OC market wasn't at the top of the list) as many areas and we don't have B26 thanks to San Bernardino. I'm praying that the rebanding gets resolved and that 800 come quickly along with significant improvements in site optimization. B41 is smoking fast when I can keep latched onto it. But honestly I hope the pricing isn't going up on ED plans (like my ED1500) and just the individual ones! They have the data - why not look at users and say "Ok you're on unlimited with 4 lines and never go over 20 gb - you get 50GB for the same price and throttled above or we'll cut your bill by $y if you drop to a 30 or 40GB plan"...or "Hayzeus Christmas you're at 90GB on a single line so your new "unlimited" cost is xxxx"
  11. The main reason I haven't switched to tiered data on a carrier with better coverage in my area is that I can't afford to drop 2 grand on all new phones which would be required. I don't want to add $100 or so a month on my bill either with one of the easypay/edge type options (hence it seems I'm the only one in the poll who said "don't want to buy new phones). Yea, I could sell my existing phones, but since I still have 2 S3 in the family, those are worth about jack squat. M9 might fetch a bit and the S5 as well, but still looking at probably a minimum of $1k to do it. one of the problems with these polls (and the usage one) is that in some areas, people are simply unable to use the unlimited data they are paying for. I know both my kids would be streaming video a lot more if they could get solid LTE where they frequent and I'd sure use more on my lunch hour (watchESPN, etc). A few months back one of my daughters managed to use 6gb so I'm guessing she was streaming in areas with a good signal at some point. When I was running a trial with TMO, I blew through half a gig just watching videos while on network. So my conundrum is risk leaving an unlimited plan for tiered and then find myself blowing through a data allowance in a week. I wouldn't consider myself an abuser - but streaming a half our of HQ video during lunch 5 days a week for half the month would put me up near 4-5GB alone. I do use WIFI whenever/wherever possible (mcd's, starbucks, etc) but sometimes I've got an hour or more to kill between my daughter's water polo games and since they are usually on school campuses I have no access to their WIFI and need a solid network.
  12. Would be funny if the only thing you could earn points on at Amazon was buying Sprint phones.
  13. Something I learned about forum criticism long ago - usually the one criticizing is looking to get a reaction from you and when you do so, they win. Think about every time you see the football ref throw a flag for the guy throwing the retaliatory punch or shove, or the hockey player getting a penalty for the extra cross check to a guy jawing at him. Hell, Robby Keane of the LA Galaxy did a little excessive shoving going for a ball on the touch line with like 1 minute left in a game the other night and the defender got red carded for a reactionary elbow to Keane's head. I had to explain this to my daughter who plays water polo, she would get hacked on offense with no call and then get ejected for retaliating on the defensive side which hurt her team. Now she just plays through it and finds other ways to get even...like scoring goals. I think this is kind of where Robert is going with the thick skin comment. Honestly, who really gives a rats azz about what anyone on this site thinks of your opinions, writing style, or whatever.
  14. Just got the neo-hybrid yesterday and so far I like it. Grippy back, lip to prevent accidental scratches if face down, easy button pushes (though still learning to grab differently as to not always hit the power button)...now figuring out which glass to get. I haven't had a case since my OG Evo but after I was forced to get the M9 when my M7 took a header out of my pocket and landed face down on a boat deck (complete shatter), I'm not taking anymore chances.
  15. Allegedly there is a fix "coming" for the radio/handoff/signal holding issues the M9 is experiencing (according to a Sprint reply to my tweets about it). When it's coming, no one can/will say, but this is a known issue for many. Is there some setting we can tweak? I notice that when going from say a B41 area to outside it's range, the M9 drops to 3G (unstable) and often to roam/no data. Even when roaming, often get no data. (all roam options are enabled - I've roamed to Verizon LTE). Vice versa, when going from a non-LTE to LTE area, it's definitely not a seamless transition and often takes a airplane mode toggle to latch on (as noted by Jeff above).
  16. Still no resolution and now the Sprint Community forums are conveniently "down" so no one can post or follow up on threads. I was wondering why there were no comments in the M9 problem thread until I saw the "problem with community" post. Just ridiculous that this phone is currently gimped and so little communication coming from sprint about a fix.
  17. I would love to answer the poll, but my response would be flawed since LTE in my neck of the woods is still somewhat spotty and unreliable so I am on wifi most of the time (work & home) thankfully. Anyway I am a firm believer in offloading to wifi whenever I can as well.
  18. AJ Sprint worldwide support (via chat) claims the M9 is a worldwide phone and is absolutely able to roam in Canada for both voice and data. Any ideas how they can make this claim if your findings say otherwise??
  19. Ha I remember dial up and the free cd-roms that AOL was always sending out...yes I'm that old...I also remember buying my first house and finding out I was just inside the area for DSL and jumped on it right away...then came cable and I laughed when ATT tried to get me to stay on DSL where I was lucky to get 768kbps down while my shiny new Cox modem was a blistering 3Mbps. Last I checked my home cable is pushing 50Mbps since I don't feel the need to jump to a premium tier for higher.
