  1. Also saw it in lower Manhattan in SoHo/Village. It was at Houston and Thompson street. I had 2 bars and pulled about 500-600 kbps.
  2. I've never had a single problem with my EVO LTE. When you live in an area where there is a tower every 1/4-1/2 mile, you don't have to worry about LTE connectivity, just when you'll be getting LTE.
  3. I know that in much of NYC, Cable providers like Optimum, Time Warner and even xfinity, have set up city wide Wifi networks, to the point where, I can take the bus from the train station to my house and not lose a Wifi signal because my phone will keep switching. I always use this unless I occasionally drop out of the Wifi radius. If more people took advantage of this, I think data speeds would be something that we wouldn't have to worry about anymore.
  4. Same here. I've been receiving fast 3G Evdo but no eHRPD.
  5. This probably isn't new topic worthy but, can someone please explain to me what LTE Advanced is and what'll happen when the LTE Advanced network goes live? Will our current LTE phones be able to benefit from this?
  6. I must admit T-Mobile is good but I think that their HSPA Network will slow down much like Sprint did when the EVO came out. Either that or I think that hey will go back to throttling LTE speeds and giving you unlimited HSPA because they don't want to constantly have to upgrade their network when the most data heavy users are slowing it down.
  7. This first test was taken on my way to school today. http://db.tt/VemDajq6 This second test was taken on Labor Day early in the morning which is why I have low pings and high speeds. http://db.tt/2R9hiXNI These were both taken in the Flatlands area of Brooklyn.
  8. I believe it is post NV because I have received lower pings and higher speeds recently. However I am not 100% sure because I haven't gone to the tower itself yet.
  9. No sorry. Wish I would've kept it because I regularly delete apps on my phone. My ping was in the low 60's and upload reached about 1.4. I would've kept it had I known that this topic was here.
  10. Does anyone know when to expect to see signs of life of the LTE network in NYC. I am thinking late September to Mid October is when I will start seeing it.
  11. Fastest I've seen was 3Mbps at 2AM and I was a 5 minute drive from the tower in Brooklyn. The fastest the I have seen mid day was 2.4 Mbps in Battery Park City.
  12. Manhattan Kansas. I am not expecting any type of LTE signal until mid to late October or if we are lucky late September.
  13. A couple of mine were done in Queens. For me Queens provided the most consistent fast speeds.
  14. Thanks because I live in NYC which means all bars everywhere except indoors. However it also means I live in a high capacity area and might not see the fast speeds that others receive.
  15. I haven't seen too many late speed tests on a full 4g signal. On the one I did see online the guy got 38mbos down and 11mbps up. Can anyone do speed tests while near the tower at all?
  16. This is great news! Everyone else in NYC seems to be complaining about slow speeds except for me and 2 others. Around Battery Park City you can see upwards of 2Mbps.
  17. What I was saying is not that they throttle but to show where the AT&T guy could have gotten this info from.
  18. According to Qualcomm, the maker of the Snapdragon chipset, the phones processor is also integrated with the way it receives the network. So if you have a newer phone, chances are your phone will connect to a tower better than with an older phone.
  19. Go on the B46 towards Kings Plaza and run speed tests when you reach Avenues J,K and L. Around here you will get at least 10Mbps. It is the only area in Brooklyn where I have received speeds that fast. My uploads stop at about 1.5Mbps though.
  20. Not that it matters, but I am officially having all of my Speed Tests in this link. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k82h7dpvr3qagpy/7QJWXMLXtX
  21. What I really like about Root Metrics is that it shows how goodhyour results are based in your type of network. It is showing 1.4Mbps in the green zone whereas if I were on HSPA+ I would probably be in the red zone orange zone.
  22. Similar to what I am getting in NYC except my ping can range from 66ms to 150ms.
  23. Two more speed tests using Root Metrics App. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jigzcqrty5cjiaj/Screenshot_2012-08-17-19-03-14.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3ncaeezg48kx2t/Screenshot_2012-08-17-19-00-03.png From these, you can see that my speeds are relatively high although my signal is not that high.
