  1. In the rest of NYC Sprint was able to deploy 60MHz for Band 41 but in the Bronx their third carrier was something like 10 or 15MHz for a very long time. T-Mobile's n41 carrier in the Bronx is only 20MHz whereas in the rest of NYC it's 40-60MHz.
I had a feel they would buy it in places that lack 2.5 I wonder if that's their same plan with the Cband?

  2. T-Mobile got 10MHz of CBRS in the Bronx. Dish got 20MHz in every borough except Queens where they got 10MHz. Verizon got 40MHz in all 5 boroughs. And Spectrum Wireless got 10MHz in every borough except the Bronx. It also looks like Cox (the cable company) got 10MHz in Queens.
Is 10 MHz of TDD even worth it?

  3. Verizon tries to prevent T-Mobile from getting more 600 MHz spectrum
Verizon says the FCC should not allow T-Mobile access to additional 600 MHz spectrum to “dramatically expand” its lead “in many of the country’s largest markets without subjecting these arrangements to the same rigorous competitive analysis the Commission normally applies to transactions that exceed the spectrum screen.”
Is this vzws way of saying they actually want some 600 for themselves?

  4. It’s not. Here in DC we have:
    A 1850-1865, 1930-1945 (Legacy Sprint) - 15x15
    E 1885-1890, 1965-1960 (Legacy T-Mobile) - 5x5
    F 1890-1895, 1970-1975 (Legacy T-Mobile) - 5x5
    G 1910-1915, 1990-1995 (Legacy Sprint) - 5x5
I noticed MFBI was enabled around the time they announced the merger and roaming agreement with Sprint, so I assume it was for the benefit of Sprint roamers.
I believe their could be a spectrum swap happening in that area with the other 2

  5. T-Mobile is broadcasting B25 MFBI on B2 around here, but it’s only a 5x5 slice so it’s usually pretty congested and probably not worth their while to combine with a fairly clear 20 MHz channel of B41.
Just noting the logic that I’ve observed on my phone - that the network and my device seem to want me to sit on a strong B41 signal when it’s available vs the “legacy” T-Mo bands.
Is your area contiguous or not contiguous with Sprints PCs spectrum?

  6. As I recall, B41 CA support is either 41+41 (2CA or 3CA) or 25+41. If T-Mobile wanted folks to CA, they'd have to run MFBI on their B2 sites to broadcast B25, mirroring the way Sprint would've rolled interband CA out.
But, given that T-Mobile is using B41 surgically for capacity at the moment (same way international carriers tend to use B7), they'd rather phones sit solely on B41, where even on a 20 MHz channel speeds are good enough, vs. spreading load across B2, where at the moment they tend to have less capacity than Sprint did on B25.
For example, Sprint has 10x10 + 5x5 of B25 here. T-Mobile has 10x10...and that's it. Contrast to double 10x10 of B4/66 (all within the B4 blocks) and I'm constantly surprised when my phone prefers B2.
    B41 can do 4xca with B25. 25+41+41+41

  7. Well, if they can entice people to get new phones over the next 3 years with a fantastic 5G network, I think this could go a long way to get users off phones that can't essentially forever roam on TMobile's network as well as grabbing customers from VZW/ATT.  As TMobile reduces the amount of spectrum on B25/41 users could get frustrated at slower speeds and seek a phone upgrade.
He is wrong they are still doing LTE work. Sprints PCS spectrum will be LTE, people have seen 20-40 MHz of B41 on TMO LTE

  8. According to Reddit, this update added support for standalone n71 and n41. There was also some internal documentation that showed that T-Mobile has already started deploying standalone 5G. Their 5G network in North Dakota is almost entirely standalone at this point.
    Standalone n71 sounds,SLOW

  9. Right now you have a total of 12.5x12.5 of cellular spectrum for each cellular carrier. You have 7 MHz of ESMR. You could have 30 Mhz of band 26 owned by the cellular carriers and couple of Mhz for guard bands. T-Mobile does not want the band 26 and neither does Dish. Otherwise Dish would not have an option, they would have a firm agreement.
TMobile did want B26 FCC and the DOJ said no
