I agree! I have noticed drastically improved signals all over recently. I can even place or receive calls inside my house, I have been able to do that for any of the 5 years with sprint.

OK I am absolutely blown away with the difference between my S3 and my son's S5! I would have not been so frustrated with my service had I known. If I didn't want the note 4 so bad I would upgrade tonight. He pulled a 43mbps speed test tonight in Fairfield. Highest I have ever had was a 24. And I do know that you cannot reply on speed tests alone but in my office with our phones side by side I got 3Mbps while his got 35Mbps. Coming from an iPhone 4 he is beyond ecstatic.

Thank you very much! Friend of mine got the s5 recently. He is out of town to Disney right now. I will have him swing over when he gets back and will report back. I have been curious about a supposed spark tower 1/3 mile from my house. Hoping for the best.
For previous wimax only sites are there equipment upgrades to be made or are they currently pushing band 41 on the old gear?
That is incredible. Any one with a band 41 capable device want to check the speeds in the nilles and river part of Fairfield? Anyone know if there is a way to force lte on the s5?
I honestly have no idea. I know things are different with the tri band phones as far as the hand off from voice to data. It would make sense for them to be dependent on being on a single tower with how that all works but, I couldn't say for certain.
No. I am holding out to see what the 4th quarter holds for devices. I am very hopeful the note 4 brings the true lte-A carrier aggregation to Sprint. It was disappointing that the Sprint s5 didn't have this technology and the AT&T variant did.
That is how I took the post I read on the matter. My personal experience would point me in that direction as well. When I first began to see lte here in Fairfield I was frequently seeing a connection from Hamilton on S. Erie blvd. Then when I bounced back to the factory dr. Tower still had faint lte. This was for some time prior to the factory dr. Tower going live a couple weeks ago.
It is my understanding that lte discovery does indeed only report the cdma site. It appears that it is not uncommon to be connected to separate towers for data vs. Voice.
I agree. That is a big factor in my waiting things out on my upgrade. That and I really hope the note 4 has the lte-a technology for Sprint. The s5 had it for at&t but not for Sprint.
I had lte for the vast majority of a trip from Fairfield to Louisville and back yesterday. The few spots I actually "tested" seemed rather slow and laggy. But I had a decent signal and my battery life was much improved.
Personally I wouldn't hold your breath on any time line given when you call in. I seriously don't understand the lack of consistency in information given by the service department. Any time I have called I get a canned answer of up to 6 months to restore consistent service. And then others on here are given not only a date but a time of day? The sad truth is it will be finished when it is finished and nothing we do will change that. I am just hoping it is all sorted out by years end. That is when I will make my final call on what I am going to do.
Makes sense. Will be looking into this today! I have gotten 800 from double and triple the distance I am from this tower. Things are definitely looking up for Sprint around here. When lte on 800 is fired up will it have a similar footprint as voice on 800?
I mapped some 4G yesterday running my son around to lifting and baseball practice. It is nice to see some purple in my neighborhood finally. When a tower is fired up what testing and tweaking is done? Is there any chance the signal strength/ reach will increase?
