  1. All right here are some questions i have... I'm using the SignalCheck Lite app, and it lists my 1xRTT RSSI @ -92 , while my EV-DO is listed at -97 is it possible i have 2 different towers, 1 for 1X and a different for EV-DO? If not, why the difference in signal strength? Does Sprint have EV-DO deployed on all of its towers currently? Also, assuming i was connecting to a 800 SMR tower for both 1X and LTE...would i have *roughly* the same signal strength for both? What is also on my mind is that Sprint seems to have more issues with obtaining signals versus other wireless providers...how is a Tri-Band device going to perform versus a single or dual band device? wont there be more issues with trying to connect to the cell signal? Will most towers only get 2 bands? It bugs me that your smartphone experience can differ greatly between device brands on the same network.
  2. My experience was not a result of bad coverage. I was standing in a spot with a full 4g signal and the phone switched to 3G as soon as I opened the browser. I had to toggle airplane mode to get it to switch back. Same thing happened over and over again. You would have to hope HTC would fix this issue in the new HTC One.
  3. I'm in Tampa for a week and when I landed I had LTE. Thing is...it is really hard to keep it from forcing 3G mode. I updated the profile and PRL. If this is how the EVO is going to be I'm definitely getting a new device once LTE comes to my hometown. Hopefully the HTC One will be a better LTE handset.
  4. GS4 is polycarbonate...not aluminum. Engadget reported it feels cheaper than the GS3!
  5. I was taking a look at the Milwaukee area spectrum holdings and had a question. I do not see SMR 800 spectrum listed for Sprint or Nextel in the Milwaukee area. Has it not been filed yet or does Sprint not have licenses for SMR 800 in Milwaukee? http://reboot.fcc.gov/spectrumdashboard/resultLicenses.seam
  6. That is awesome to hear. How is the Data/EVDO/LTE connection in the same place? Can you surf the web, send out emails, or do picture texts from that basement?
  7. If we can get an approximate address we can check the sprint tower maps and cross reference permits for the address.
  8. It always seems the tower by the Airport gets new Cell Tower equipment first. This might be one of the first to go live. Keep us posted.
  9. Im heading down to Sarasota to visit my dad in late March. Hopefully i will get to experience LTE in Tampa for a short while before getting into Sarasota. Might see a tower or two when im there with LTE. Crossing my fingers! PS. My dad lives just outside Sarasota and there is virtually no reception at his house. Maybe LTE on 800 will change that in the future!
  10. JB is pretty battery efficient for me. I have not had any battery issues at all. Hopefully we will be seeing the first LTE tower getting lit up by the end of the month
  11. Just get a Jelly Bean 4.1+ OS Android Device. Native on board speech to text. No network needed.
  12. How are you checking these permits? I found the milwaukee DCD site and have been looking some up. 5361 N HOPKINS ST could be one as well. Can someone check or share the permit site you are checking?
  13. It is looking like we might not see any towers going up for a few more weeks. I would not be surprised if work did not start in the Milwaukee area until mid year. Crossing my fingers for some LTE goodness ready for Summerfest/State Fair.
  14. I work in Milwaukee near Aurora St. Lukes and i am getting eHRPD.
  15. I'm in Waukesha and am getting Ehrpd now as well. I checked my last speedtest which was 2 weeks ago and that was evdo. So ehrpd went live in the last couple weeks. Getting about same speeds but latency and response seems better.
  16. Apparently the regular refs are not much better than the rent-a-refs from the Seattle game....soo frustrating

  17. I have checked both Waukesha & Milwaukee County for permit listings. I have found nothing. I do not see any searchable permit listings on the county websites like the Phoenix one. I will check out others and let you all know if i come up with anything.
  18. So it sounds like Milwaukee will be getting some of its towers started with the NV conversion. I am in Waukesha and am wondering if they will start on the outskirts/suburbs of the metro area and work their way to the downtown area. Can't wait till i hear about the first confirmed LTE signals in the area. It has been a long time coming. Milwaukee only had a taste of Wimax with like 1 tower being converted.
  19. RT @Brewers Lineup vs SD: Hart 1B, Aoki RF, Braun LF, Ramirez 3B, Weeks 2B, Ransom SS, Morgan CF, Maldonado C, Fiers P
